My family has been coming here for years, but after what happened last night, Las Potrancas has lost my business forever. The food is always amazing, but my problem is with the waitstaff. Our experience last night started decently: we were seated quickly, our drink order was messed up but fixed fairly fast, and we got our food in a timely manner. Heres where the problem arose. My girlfriend ordered the fajitas, which comes with two tortillas. After eating the two tortillas, in typical fajita style, she looked to order more. The waitress hadnt been back to our table since delivering our food. With her food growing cold and 1/3 eaten, we watched the waitress standing and talking to her coworkers, only stopping to attend to a large table celebrating a birthday, ignoring us completely. After 20-25 minutes, we decided that we were dissatisfied with our experience enough to complain. While my girlfriend went to the front desk to inquire about management, the waitress finally returned to ask if we want the check. Meanwhile, my girlfriend was being ignored at the front desk by a man on his personal phone. Giving up, my girlfriend returned to our table and the waitress returned with the check. We asked to see her manager, "Alex," and, lo-and-behold its the man behind the front desk who had decided that Facebook or something was more important than the needs of a customer. We explain our situation to him and he says that hes going to go check the cameras. He stops by the waitress, once again conversing with her coworkers, and they talk for a minute before he disappears into the back. When he returns, he tells us that, "the video tells a different story. She returned 3 or 4 times." Well which was it, 3 or 4 times? He essentially called us liars to our faces. We argued our point, reiterating that we understood that the meal only comes with 2 tortillas and that we simply wanted to order more and were unable to. We didnt want to pay, we feel justifiably, for a now-cold, 1/3 eaten fajita plate. We again said had no problem paying for my meal as it was both delicious and completely eaten, but didnt feel like we should be forced to pay for the now-inedible fajitas. He calls the waitress over, and she gives us her sob story about how she is trying her best and that she has 3 kids to support. She literally tells us that the big table next to us tipped her $80 and that she was sorry that she was trying to pay attention to them. We explain again that we had no issue with her service before she neglected us for 25 minutes. Between her and the manager, it felt like we were talking to a brick wall. Still voicing our displeasure, the manager then gives us an ultimatum, "wed have to pay in full or call the cops." Feeling trapped and like we were getting nowhere, we decided to pay just so we could leave the establishment for the last time. Our issue with the restaurant isnt with the employees who do their job diligently or the great food. Its with the people that they entrust with management positions lying to their patrons and using their position strong-arm customers. If these are the type of people that Las Potrancas regularly employs, then we will not return until a satisfactory change has been made. They have lost my business, my familys, and anyone I can warn about the awful way that they treat their customers.

Love the one on 64th and Simms... great staff! However, the location on 66th and Wads is another story. The lady (OpheliaL there is SOOOO rude. First off speaking about a person in a different language assuming this "white girl" and other choice words that I choose not to publish wouldnt understand what you were saying youre completely wrong I speak fluent Spanish and understood every single word that you were saying about me I will not be going back to the location on 66th and Wadsworth but I do love the location on 64th and will continue to go there I do hope that the owners see this and take action against Ophelia on professionalism. I know I wasnt being rude or the other words that you were calling me I simply asked for a menu because you had me pull up to the window before I had the chance to even look at the menu to figure out what I wanted then you were rudely kept answering the phone while I was trying to ask you questions and just threw the menu at me and said you can look and let me know when youre ready thats fine but the way that you handle things is very unprofessional. And the reason I gave them five stars is because I do love the one on 64th....

Bright and clean place but food is sub par. Relleno was mostly tortilla dough with a half a pepper and little cheese inside. Small, half size, not the more typical full sized pepper. Happy hour house margarita was served in a clear pint beer glass full of ice, not a nice marg glass like the menu shows. Because of the ice it was mostly lime flavored water in a matter of minutes. Cheap but not good. Taco was in a fried flour shell that wasnt crispy. The rest is average at best. This is the second time we came here because the first time we went the food wasnt very good either. We thought wed give it another chance. Still sub par. We also has a King Soopers receipt back coupon for a second entree free but the waitress explained if we used that they we would not get happy hour drink prices. Nothing about that exclusion on the coupon, but it made it not worth using the coupon. Given the coupon exclusions of lunch hour and happy hour and the requirement to buy two drinks Im not sure you could ever use it. All in all Id say this place should be avoided as there are many better ones for the same price with better quality food. You can do better.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Three months ago we went here for dinner and spoke to the owner about having our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner here with 40 people. We had eaten here many times over the past 5 years and have spent a lot of money. We thought the food was amazing and wanted to share the experience with family from California. We called the night before to confirm our reservation. When we showed up that night all of a sudden our reservation was lost. As we started arguing with the staff we noticed a post it note on the back wall with our name and a party of 40. They only sat half our party and when asked when the other half would be seated they said they were working on it. In the meantime they were still seating other guests. After waiting an hour we all decided to leave. We were so disappointed no one was sorry for the mix up there was no apology nor have they ever called. Not to mention my husband and his best friend have spent a lot of money there over the past 5 years. Between new years eve dinners, fathers day dinners, family dinners etc. Very disappointing

Weve been here three or four times, and the food is generally good. The service is ok, but random because the first person to greet you after being seated is a busboy who takes your drink order, and inevitability your server will show up and ask if youd like something to drink. The food is good, and the servers are nice. Dont attempt to use any coupons here however, because neither the staff nor management know what coupons they have out there, and definitely wont accommodate you when they dont inform you of how your coupon wont work long after youve ordered and consumed your meal. This is by far the least effort Ive ever seen a manager take to correct a guests issues with service or billing concerns. We seemed to be bothering her by bringing up that we were told one thing, ordered a bunch, and then told something else.
