My buddy and I went in there Friday night after 11, both of us are from the area, and we both live in Covington. We were looking for something other than pizza. Zolas has made some changes. It is much warmer and more pleasant than I remembered from less than a year ago. The lighting seemed more welcoming. It was an environment to sit and eat in. My friend got the chicken tenders, I got the fried chicken sandwich. He liked the tenders, they were a delicate fry, more Chick-fil-a- than Lees chicken. The same went for the sandwich. The fries were steak fries, nothing special, they were evenly cooked, but always formidable. A deeper fry and some herb seasoning would go a long, long way; basil, thyme, ground salt and pepper would do a large service to them. The chicken sandwich was on a nice powdered deli bun. The fixings were placed with intent, and the cheese was melted over top to keep things in place. The honey mustard sauce was fairly portioned to not make a mess of eating, it might have been in house, too. It all paired well with my Miller Lite. The service was a good cop / new cop kind of feel. It was cordial and effective. Oh, and my friends BBQ seemed made in house. It was memorable. Lighter, more vinegar than ketchup, more honey than pepper. The only thing I would have changed, is that my sandwich would have come in a basket as well. Ill take the red-checkered wax paper lined red food basket over the dull cream colored diner scratch plate, any time I have the choice. Everyone likes eating out of a basket. Throw the seasoning on top of the deeper fried steaks fries, maybe a different fry oil, pop them in a basket next to the tasty sandwich. Boom, now youre keeping up with the Joness.

We give this place 1 star, since 0 is not possible. This is our usual place where we eat when at Mainstrasse for Oktoberfest. Last night we sat outside and I walked inside to the bar to order food. The barmaids were busy socializing, although the place was empty. I am big guy, not seeing me is difficult. Eventually I gave up and walked to the kitchen to place my order. The cook was very helpful, he was glad to take my order. I offered to come in to get my food, but he offered to bring it out to us when it was ready. A nice helpful guy I thought to myself. I went outside to sit with my wife and gulp on our beer. About 15 minutes later a waitress showed up with sort of a combative stance to inform us that we did not have a food order and that food orders had to be placed with the barmaids. I was sort of dumbfounded...this is the laziest lousiest service I have ever seen in my life.

My brother and I stopped by tonight to check out the burger special on Wednesday. Were from Chicago and decided to look for good places to eat while we were in the area. The bartenders (Emily, Jaclyn & Kevin) we great...fun to talk with and super friendly. The burgers we had were great! The buns they use were delicious, which added a great texture to the sandwich. We tried the California burger and the Blue cheese burger (home made blue cheese). I work in Cincinnati and will have to come out here again on a Wednesday night to chow down.

One of my fav spots in Covington...try the grilled fish sandwich! Yummy! First thing i ate here 5 years ago and its still my fav. Good burgers, slaw and kettle chips are yummy too, crabcakes are to die for (they make it themselves). And ask Adam for a joke...hes got plenty...

Had a great time. We were looking for a little spot to eat and have a good beer while in Covington from Indiana. Adam was totally awesome. And...we could smoke! I was shocked, but thrilled. Dont find places you can do that anymore.

Had a burger; it was delicious and huge! Not a huge place though. Smoking is allowed which is good or bad depending on your view. The staff was nice and courteous. We were in and out in 30 min. I would definitely go back.

Great service on a busy Saturday evening. Burgers are huge, cooked perfectly to order, and priced really well. Plus, if you bring your dog with you when youre sitting outside, theyll bring your pup a bowl of water!

The food was great, the server was great...but it smells VERY strongly of cigarette smoke. If you are sensitive to smoke, steer clear...My eyes and sinuses were burning halfway through lunch.

Great burgers... however if you want more than one ring of onion on your patty, be prepared to pay an additional $.50! Burgers are now $6 - up from $5. I am on a boycot!!!
