I sat down and ordered a beer to drink while looking over the menu. That was the only good thing about my visit. When I ordered the teriyaki steak, I was told that I had "ordered the wrong thing". I pointed to the item I was ordering on the menu, but it was still apparently somehow wrong. So, I ordered another steak item that was apparently correct. The preparation "show" started off well. The cook was entertaining and it was kind of fun to watch... until I noticed that the grease trap on the hood range over the grill was full to overflowing and was dripping who knows how old used grease on my food. I then pointed this out, at which point the kitchen staff came out to try to clean it (something they might have considered doing sometime in the weeks it took to fill it, and perhaps before the doors opened). They removed the trap and dumped the grease on me, my beer, and what little of my meal had been prepared up to that point. Disgusting environment. Bad service. Glad I never made it to the food. To be fair, the sushi side may be good (I didnt try it)... But I know not to expect much when Im in Reston/Herdon and even so this was shockingly bad.

Worst service, lowest quality sushi Ive ever eaten. Gin martini never came. Had to leave before my other food came out because the waitress and chef were so aggressive to me when I had basic questions about the menu. They barely understood English and seemed offended I wanted to know what mysterious looking sauce they had put in front of me. Hope I dont get food poisoning. Not accomodating to people with mild food allergies. Treated me disrespectfully-from the hostess to the chef until I felt so insulted I had to leave. Never going back. Im in the restaurant business and was blown away by their brazen disregard and almost verbal abuse they put their customers through. Wish I could leave zero stars.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD ONLINE!! Couldnt physically get to restaurant, so clicked on their website. What do you know? You can order and get your sushi delivered! Its right there, taking up half of the main page of their website. So, I ordered food for my family. Found out two hours later that they no longer deliver. The Yelp Eats site had already charged my credit card. When I called the restaurant to explain the problem, they acted like they couldnt care less. After being treated like that, Ill go elsewhere for Japanese cuisine. Its not like its hard to find good sushi up here.

After reading others reviews I was a little apprehensive, but my gf and I were going to the movies and had 2 hours to kill so we decided to try it out. We were very pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and attentive. Low prices and even better if you can go during the 50% off special on their special rolls. Was even surprised when we got 6 pieces of sashimi when we ordered the salmon. Not to mention we received 2 sushi pieces each free for an appetizer, soup and salad all included with our meal. My new favorite sushi spot near my house

The food was great, the hibachi chef was fun.. However last night my husband and I literally got married at Matsutake and during us trying to do our vows the servers wouldnt wait patiently til management scolded them, and then at the end of the meal after we paid the server had the audacity to come back and complain we didnt tip enough!!!! I was appalled!! despite the food being average as far as hibachi goes, I will never eat there again and will discourage everyone else b/c of the service.

Great food and amazing service. They messed up on a couple of small things regarding my order that I wouldnt have picked up on my own, but made up for it by being so nice and comping several items. The server was really friendly and made good suggestions. We have a 5 month old who came along and the staff actually came and took turns taking him and entertaining him. Ive never been anywhere where they would do that. Ill be back for sure.

Overpriced for quality of meat, chef overcooked everything, the usual japanese steakhouse show was very sad, ordered double order of fried rice and was given an extra spoonful, service was slow, timing of food was poor and when all this was told to the manager on duty, no apology, no look in the eye, instead and push over so incoming guests could pass. Make this place go out of business and do not give these people your hungry money.

Sushi is delicious! I went for dinner and sat at the Sushi bar. Very friendly staff and service, great set of chopsticks for use in the sushi bar at dinner (not the disposable cheap kind), nice atmosphere. I went back twice at lunch for the all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide array of sushi available - even some sashimi. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Sushi.

Really BaD! None of the buffet food was good. All the sushi had dried up rice. I had to ask for watermelon to be replenished! Even the hot food looked like it was sitting there a long time. Bulgogi is a joke! Sad because we used to come here 10 yrs or so ago and it was one of the best buffet places with the best price. Surprised that theyre still open when food is just NOT GOOD!

Sushi Buffet/ Hot Buffet: Great for lunch if you get there before the rush and the deep fried rolls are hot! If you are ready to crush some special rolls and get your moneys worth, come on a weekday. Holidays and weekend lunches are slow and the buffet seats there... Hot food is ok, but dont come here for that, eat as much of the good stuff on the sushi bar that you can.

Wasnt terribly impressed with this place. I think the Japanese Steak House is a misnomer as all the workers are Korean. Thats not helpful for my practicing Japanese. Food was quite good, Ill give my recommendation for it based on that. The atmosphere was a little lacking. If you seek great sushi at a good price without concern for atmosphere, I suggest you go here.

Ive almost always gone here for the sushi buffet and really enjoy it. They have a small salad bar and lots of freshly prepared dishes, including noodle dishes and miso, in addition to the fresh sushi that the sushi chefs keep making during the buffet hours. Buffet has very tasty cuts of seafood and a lot of variety in a compact space. Hot green tea is excellent.

Had a good dinner. The sushi was excellent and had the Beef yakisoba. The amount of beef was not as much as you would expect for this type of dish. For a Saturday night with a light crowd, the service was a little slow. Overall, a good experience and the price for two people was very reasonable.

Mediocre sushi. I usually come here during lunch because my office is across the street. During lunch, it is all-you-can-eat buffet-style. With most "AYCE" places, food is made in mass amounts, thus compromising taste/quality of food. I leave feeling content, but nothing to rant or rave about.

I thought their selection of sushi was excellent and very fresh. For the buffet, you also get a selection of salad/fruit, soups, and other side dishes (noodles, wontons, etc.) Overall, a good value for the money. I went on a Friday, and it was a bit crowded.
