I go here at least once a week (on Friday for dinner) with one of my very good friends from college. The staff is great--they dont know my name, but they always recognize me, ask how my week was, etc. (My friend, however, they know by name and he knows some of theirs.) While dining, you arent served by just one person, but usually by several or all of them, so you are never left wanting for a drink refill or anything else. After you are seated, they give you complimentary Matsu balls (fried wonton with meat and veggies--crunchy and wonderful!) and edamame (sp). Personally, I like their hot tea quite a bit and it is unlimited free refills brought around by a tea server. If you are a sushi lover, I cant say enough great things about this place. The Tuna Double roll is my absolute favorite--it has just the right amount of spice, crunch and sweet to please any palate. Also, all of the rolls are a good size, even the more simple ones. At most other places, 6 pieces look like they would only be equal to about 3 from Matsu. I have also had the tempura meals, which are wonderful, and another friend of mine who sometimes joins us always gets the Yakiniku (sp) beef. Ive never had it, but he is a picky eater and says it is to die for (it always looks good). Absolutely go here if you like this kind of cuisine--you wont be disappointed!

This place has phenomenal food. Every type of sushi I have sampled was good and the have the best Udon soup that I have ever had. The downsides are the space is small and fills up really quickly and they do not do reservations. Also the wait staff is not particularly friendly. The do their jobs but not any more. On the occasions we have gone with a bunch of friends they have had issues dealing with a large party. But wow the food is so good it balances out the negatives.

One of the better sushi places in NoVa. Seats maybe 55 people and often has a wait. (Dont try to go there during siesta; they close between lunch and dinner.) Their traditional sushi/nigiri/sashimi are wonderful, priced better than what youll find closer to the city and on the high end of the quality spectrum. The few specialty rolls of theirs Ive tried are good (Japanese Lasagna is great), though I generally stick to the classics.

Best sushi I have ever had. I go there at least once a month. The service is quick and the food decently priced (about $5-6 per sushi roll - its a buck or two more in most places). They have a small party room in the back that can seat maybe 20 people. Plenty of options on the sushi and regular menu, but my favorite is the funky roll, which is a California roll fried in tempura batter. One of my top five favorite foods.

Cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing, quick and very reasonably priced. Theres not much privacy as its basically a rectangular room with tables in a strip mall, but was excellent for a place to take a vendor or client. Best sushi around and they have tons of spicey versions of almost every dish they make. Staff was attentive, quick, gracious

Beautiful place. Great food. Awesome service. The place has a nice welcoming feeling to it. Ive been to a few sushi places in my lifetime. Im not really a big sushi guy but according to the friends I went with it was excellent. The server we had was very nice. It was not to busy and we got her to sit with us and she conversed a little. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

The sushi was pretty good. I enjoyed the dragon roll the most. Before your entree they bring you a small miso soup that is pretty good, and a couple small bowls of edamame. We had a larger party (with kids), but they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly - we sat in the smaller room in the back where they only have 3-4 tables.

Staff is very friendly. Sushi is made in a timely fashion. Sushi tastes really good compared to other places. Sushi is a little bit on the pricier side for sushi. The rolls are very small in diameter unless you order the special rolls. Thats only reason I gave it a 4. If money isnt a factor though its a 5.

Best sushi in town hands down! Ive brought in first time sushi eaters as well as experienced folks and all come out saying they cant wait to come back. Staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. Sushi recommendations...kami kaze, Lobster roll, and tuna double roll. Cant forget about the Matsu balls either

I love the free Matsu ball and edamame! My wife and I always share an avocado salad to start, and the sushi is always great. We eat there at least one a month, sometimes more, and theyve only messed up one sushi roll, one time. (Thats a great track record in my book.) And they fixed it right away!

Every time I go I love this place and service is for the most part on par. I could tell you more but just go for yourself, you wont be disappointed, hours are a little different so make sure they are open when you want to go. They close during the middle of the day between lunch and dinner hours

Definitely Centrevilles secret Sushi place. Excellent sushi. While there are other very good sushi places in NOVA, I compare all of them to Matsu Sushi. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Hours of operation are a little different after normal lunch hours, be sure to check before going.

Absolutely, love, love this place! The freshest sushi in the area. Clearly, they have the right idea. Confidence to only open for lunch and dinner. Simply the best. Try it and you will like it. The employees are great too. Really have a passion to make your experience a good one.

This is my go-to date restaurant with my boyfriend. We have tried all the other sushi places nearby and Matsu is by far the best. Although they are a little pricey, all of their rolls are worth it. I recommend their Dragon Roll, Tuna Lovers Sashimi and Sushi combo, and Japanese Lasagna

To be honest, I pulled up to this shopping center with poor parking and was wondering what I got myself into. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised to find the atmosphere once inside Matsu was great. The service was fantastic, and the sushi is among the best Ive ever had.

Great place!!! My boyfriend and I have been looking for a regular sushi spot ever since our horrific experience at konami sushi in tysons. Finally, weve found a sushi place with superb service and delicious sushi. Definitely a place for our regular sushi cravings!!!
