We went to this restaurant based on generally positive reviews. I did notice some reviews that mentioned poor customer service/attitude of the staff but I didnt imagine this would be much of an issue. I was wrong. The waiters rush you to make your order. When they bring your drinks, they almost throw the cans of soda in your face. They also threw down some straws on the table like they were feeding dogs. When the food arrived, they had no idea who ordered what and kept putting the wrong plate in front of people. For some of us, they just handed us the plate at arms length instead of placing it on the table. There was one waiter who was nice. He tried to make conversation and helped to bring us some hot sauce. In the end when we went to pay our bill, I couldnt believe my ears when the person ringing us up complained about the tip. He said, "Is that it?", in the rudest way you can imagine. I looked at him and said "yes". Then going back to the table to get the rest of our party, we promptly walked out. On our way out, the man who had charged our credit card followed behind us loudly complaining to himself about our tip. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen in a restaurant. Completely inexcusable. Without hesitation, I would advise others to try their luck elsewhere. In terms of the food, it was about the average you would expect for a sit-down Chinese restaurant. It was not bad but definitely nothing special. I have definitely had better food, although with slightly higher prices. The prices here were also about average. Although there were some things that seemed a little expensive; like $9 for a plate of fried rice.

Since folks have used words like best, love, amazing, delicious, authentic etc. figured hell I needed to get me some of this magic Sichuan, being a fan of bold spice and wok prepared dishes, I hauled my ass out to Wayne with all the glowing reviews fresh in my head eager to indulge. From the outside the place is rather generic but as I entered things began to improve, the dining room was quite large, clean and well decorated. Service was crisp and efficient yet a bit distant but thats quite often the case in Chinese restaurants and came as no surprise here. Got a pot of tea for two bucks and began perusing the menu and chatting with my son after a few moments we decided on a couple protein & vegetable stir fries and asked for them to be extra spicy, the meals came with wonton soup as part of the lunch specials. After a short time passed the soups arrived hot and I enjoyed the wontons very much, the broth wasnt laced with sodium but perhaps MSG. The bowls were cleared quickly and our entrees brought to the table fresh from the wok absolutely swimming in chili oil, I mean glistening like the crankshaft of a Ferrari. The dish was a total grease pit, shame because the ingredients looked fresh and were cooked well but the overwhelming taste of cheap chili oil didnt add to the spice it just destroyed the food and it laid very heavily in our stomachs. Im not using any of the adjectives in my first sentence to describe my meal here, white people Chinese food for sure just skip it.

My wife and I ate at Cheng Du the other night for the first (and last) time. This review really has nothing to do with our dinner. It was just okay, nothing to brag about. Weve eaten at MANY other Chinese restaurants that were much better than this one. Im writing to complain about what happened after we paid the check. We paid for the dinner on our credit card, and we left CASH for the tip.........As we were exiting, one of the managers or hostesses came running up to us, showed us the credit receipt and asked us, "wheres the tip" ????? Can you believe it ???? Our waiter was good, and we left him a generous cash tip....but we are under NO obligation to leave a tip at all, ANYWHERE !!! That hostess shouldve asked the server where the tip was before she came running after us. I dont know (or care) how this restaurant divvies up their tips to their hard working employees, but they should leave their customers out of it !! "Wheres the tip" ??? Heres a tip; eat at a restaurant that RESPECTS their customers. Stay away !!! Thank you

The worst experience for ordering my lunch!!!!! I called to order a lunch, a man staff answered and took my order. He checked my phone number first and there is my name on file and my order, everything seems to be fine. but when I go to pick up my lunch he says NO ONE TOOK MY ORDER, AND HE DID NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING JUST TAKE MY CREDIT CARD AND CHARGED THEN TOLD ME, HE JUST ADD MY ORDER I HAVE TO WAIT THERE FOR THAT, EVEN NO SORRY WORD WITH THIS MISTAKE. What a reddiculase situation this is! before that I have to mention When I go inside the door there is nobody at the counter and I cannot see any staff or waitress/waiter around there. I have to wait until the desk phone in the cashier desk ringing and someone just happen to pick the phone up and saw me. I only have few minutes for lunch time, that why I called in advance so that I can pick it up right away. anyway I have to say that is terrible customer service and awful management. As a chain restaurant hope you can improve your service just a little bit more.

Its pretty good, but not OUT OF THIS WORLD like everyone else seems to think. We have been here several times, for lunch, dinner and dim sum on the weekends. None of which are incredible, but decent. Its certainly more authentic than most restaurants, however their menu are a bit American-fied. The biggest no-no is the lack of "numb" that Sichuan cuisine is known for. When my husband asked for extra "Sichuan peppers" on his dish, the waitress was baffled and didnt know what he meant...so instead she bought out red pepper chili oil. Which is not the same as Sichuan pepper sauce. Sometimes, the service is good...and then sometimes their waitstaff is rude and unhelpful. I wish they would train their waiters to be consistently friendly regardless of their mood...I mean they are in the service industry right?

Food here is no longer what it used to be. Waiter made a mistake taking our order and was so rude yelling at us for giving the wrong order which clearly made the mistake himself. I think he was sick to begin with. He was wiping his nose and coughing a lot as he was taking our orders. We had 2 other families with us and told the waiter to write 3 separate checks and he literally said that is so inconvenient for him. What! We still remain courteous because who knows what he will do to our food. We dont want the waiter to desecrate our food. There is nothing to "oh la la" about here anymore. The only thing authentic you can expect here is unsanitary conditions, waiter smoking outside, the constant coughing and wiping of their nose while they pick it! and chop vegetables! Gross!
