Very good atmosphere and fantastic food, the Executive Chef Harsh, visited out table and greeted us and ensured everything was to our satisfaction. we have catered many events here and every dish he creates is a masterpiece. not just Indian food, hes more an intellect with a vision to make your taste buds explode like never before. hes simply amazing, we went to a birthday party catered at the restaurant, to my surprise, no Indian food was founded their. the whole thing was an Italian fan fare.. Who would have thought to have Italian food in an Indian restaurant. all my family was pleased with the service and hospitality from his staff. This truly is a diamond in the rough.. Always a pleasure to come to Mausam in Montclair, next stop is a Michelin Star.. Thank you Harsh for providing a spectacular time and delightful cuisine experience that we are still talking about today.. A forever appreciated customer and patron.

We ordered Methi masti, jalfrazi and paneer tikka masala, chili garlic naan. Methi masti is outstanding. Requested to make it spicy and to our surprise it was exactly "spicy" we were looking for without compromising taste of food. Yes, very tasty! Server was quick to address us and revert back with what we ordered, so good service. And not too pricey for the quality and quantity of food/restaurant/service. Well, it would have been 5 stars but parking is an issue in Montclair downtown and having no restaurant parking is an inconvenience. Keep this spice on and pls dont change!

I experienced Mausam yesterday with my 4 yr old. I figured the buffet would be an excellent treat for us. I get there and the buffet is measly, out of rice constantly not to mention the rice was hard. The tandori chicken was overcooked and very tough. The other foods they had looked as if theyd been out for hrs. When I mentioned that the tandori chicken was tough the waiter acted a bit dense and offered every excuse as to why it was tough. Overall, not a good experience. Wont be coming back.

Horrible!! I ordered from the Montclair, NJ location & every plate I was charged $1-$2 extra. When I brought it to their attention, they kept trying to convince me that I must have the wrong location. When the Montclair location was where I ordered from & where my husband went to pick up the food. Their dishonesty was appalling!! The food portions were very small & not worth the price they charged me. Never going back!!

Excellent food, and reasonably priced for a restaurant in this area. Especially appreciated how our server was able to suggest specific side dishes to go with our meal, and the manager came over later to ensure that everything was to our liking. Also they have a fairly wide selection of vegetarian and seafood meals. I would definitely return!

The place looks empty, I order lamb, my wife chicken with different sauces, both spicy, however, the lamb came with all the bones and there was very little to eat. I dont know if the style of the plate was like this, in any case my plate was that and my wifes was delicious.

Five star rating to this wonderful place serving Indian Cuisine. The place is quite huge and very clean. We visited this restaurant last week and ordered the entire meal. The starters are amazing here especially Chicken Manchurian. Loved the taste and spice

Food was fine, but service was truly awful. Waited almost an hour for our food to be served and were one of only a couple tables of customers. Server offered no explanation or apology for why the service was so slow.

Good Indian spot in downtown Montclair. I cant compare Mausam to other downtown Indian restaurants but I enjoyed it way more than Brick Lane (upper Montclair). Samosa Chaat was really good.

Im an Indian aficionado and I think this is hands down the best Indian restaurant Ive ever been too. Absolutely amazing food and a great vegetarian selection too.

Food was not good. Messed up my order and charged crazy prices for mediocre tomato sauce. Will never return or recommend if you want bad expensive Indian food.

Very average Indian food. Probably the best in the lower Montclair area but a quick Google search will show much better offerings that are a 10 min drive away
