First off, Id like to make it clear that Ive never tried Indian food before so I have nothing to compare it to nor would I be able to judge is authenticity... That being said, I absolutely love this spot. Its rather small, but theres still adequate enough space between tables to feel comfortable. The dining room is dimly lit and provides for a very relaxed and intimate dining experience. A good setting to take a girl out on a date or meet up with a few friends for a nice dinner. The service was great with my server being very attentive and not being bothered by my obvious cluelessness as to what curry is and what comes with each meal. I ordered a Methi Salmon dish which came with white rice, a curry sauce, and naan (which is a toss of bread). The Salmon was amazing! Cooked to perfection and came served on a sizzler. The naan and curry were also excellent and a perfect compliment to my fish and the white rice was freaking awesome (Im the type of guy that can eat white rice by itself, so trust me its good). Overall I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit here and can definitely recommend anyone curious about Indian food to come here...

The food here is really excellent. Its all incredibly flavorful and not at all greasy. I know many people find that Indian food leaves them with indigestion, but thats not the case here. The service here is very friendly, but it could be faster. The decour is fine, but nothing to write home about. Two warnings: Firstly, if they claim that something is spicy, belive them. The spice never overwhelms the flavor, but its most definitely there. Second, this place is not cheap. Each main dish will run you close to $20, and you wont find any combination plates. Protip: go for lunch! They have an incredibly generous lunch special for just $10.

The taste of the food is amazing. The Tika masala is to die for. My biggest issue is the portions. I got maybe 3 ounces of chicken in the curry with the lunch special. The sides are good, naan is good too. But you dont get a lot for what your pay for. I will say, however, that when they had the buffet still running, this place is hands down a 5 star. Additionally, there could be a change in lunch special versus dinner portion, but I couldnt imagine what it would look like. Ill have to go back to see if this was just a fluke, but good place overall.

Went there with my family and a friend. Their food is not good. We had vindaloo and it was freakingly spicy. I am used to eating that but this one was the worst one. Even the goan curry had no business being named that. Chicken was tough cubes that were cooked well before. On top of that, the food was 50% overpriced. This was our first time their and we have decided not to return. There are so many restaurants that are better than this. I generally dont write reviews but people should know about this.

Been here many times. It is always really good, even if its not the cheapest option out there. The curries are great and the meats from the tandoor are delicious. If you want to try more things at once, order a sizzling meat dish from the tandoor and pay the extra $5 for a small bowl of curry, rice, and naan to go with it. Their vindaloo has some great spice. Next time Ill have to try the super hot "phal" curry and see if I live to tell the tale. ;)

Any Brit will tell how how important it is to find a good curry house!! We moved here pretty recently and having tested all local restaurants, I can assure you this is where you go for your curry! For me (from toddler age) going for a curry was more of a staple than fish n chips, shepherds pie or sausage & mash! The curry appreciation, I have passed on to my family.... I love the food and familiarity. Thrilled to be in walking distance :)

Brick Lane offers the finest Indian cuisine my husband and I have ever tasted!!! We intended to go out for Indian cuisine and were bored with the three nearest us. 1hr and a cab ride later, we were referred here by three strangers, who RAVED about it. An intimate dining area and exquisitely friendly service. The best meal weve had out together since... This was the best meal we shared. The rice pudding reminded me of my childhood.

This is my go- to place for Indian food in Montclair..... and I looooooove Indian food. Great Indian fare with a bit of a modern twist. The food is so fresh, tastes are bright, sauces delicious. One surprise is the pakora: delicious ( especially with the sauces) but more bready than the crispy version most of us are used to. One word of caution: hot really means HOT here!

Very simple and straightforward lunch menu options, and a great deal for the takeout box. You get a large serving of rice, curry, a side and dessert (such as rice pudding) for a decent flat price no matter what style of curry of meat you choose, and the naan here is really good. Wish there was lunch delivery, I would order a lot more often!

I ordered the Veggie Vindaloo and the curry was canned tomato sauce with some chilli peppers. Very disappointed from the reviews I read. The aloo chat was basically frozen potatoes and very skimpy on the sev, it had no crunch or texture because of it. There are better places for the price. Edit: My wife and I were there 2/18 in Montclair

My go-to Indian place. The lunch menu here is unique to this location (the one in Ridgewood doesnt do the same lunch menu). You get curry, rice, naan, lentils, and rice pudding all for $12. Amazing food and amazing lunch deal. The Lassuni-Gobi is great too. I never knew cauliflower could taste that good!

Ehh... The curry here is average at best. Great for someone who has never tried a curry before, but its nothing phenomenal. Vindaloo wasnt very spicy at all, based on that, I can imagine the phal is only decently hot. Doesnt serve alcohol, but there is a liquor store near by that delivers.

BYOB :-) I started with the Bombay Aloo which was a really disappointing choice. Ive had this dish many times before but Brick Lanes interpretation just wasnt flavorful. My entree (Tikka Masala) was good...nice flavor and lots of meat. The naan was fine, though it was a little greasy.

While the service is very friendly, it is not exceptionally attentive. Everything that Ive eaten there is really delicious though. The korma sauce is creamy and flavorful. The waiter was very accommodating and even brought us extra sauce for dipping our Naan.

My first visit to Brick Lane, it was soooo delicious! The staff was gracious and friendly even though it was busy. We enjoyed the suggested dishes and were so full there wasnt any room for dessert. I am looking forward to going back again .

Quality of food is good. The restaurant is not too spacious but its understandable since its in the main avenue of Montclair. People are very polite. Had a great food!
