We went for dinner last evening and was more than pleased with the whole experience. The ambience and design of the restaurant is stellar. The service was outstanding. At one point, one of the waitresses had an unfortunate accident of losing control on a plate of food on the table next to us, and it spilled on the floor next to the table. Immediately, two busboys and both managers, were on the scene making sure that everything was satisfactory and they had a new plate out in three to four minutes. Our food was outstanding! The bread was delicious and the salads were well proportioned. My wife had the Steak KP and I had the Island Ribeye. Both were very good! We had the Dessert Trio with a Mini Creme Brulee, mini Key Lime Pie and "The World Smallest Sundae". From start to finish, the meal was outstanding! As far as service goes, my wife and I were very impressed! Our waitress was very courteous and prompt. I always feel that the sign of a great restaurant was when you have your service people walking around to their tables to fill up drinks, but if they see other tables that need drinks filled, they stop and also provide drink filling service the other tables. The busboys were also very efficient. At one point, one of the managers saw that there was an empty wine glass on our table and she grabbed it and took it away, and even though we still had half a cup of coffee, she offered us more coffee. My wife and I and visited a lot of restaurants in town in the past and this was BY FAR the best dining experiences we have had in a long time! I am definitely going to recommend the National Exemplar to all of my friends.

The breakfast is alright, but the service sucks. The tween hosts they have are rude and dimwitted, as are the adults who chose to hire them. I used to get carry out here frequently, but the last time and final time I went there the two hosts asked if I had been following a young boy. I had no clue what they were talking about, and I felt harassed because they asked it with a snicker. Im glad that they think child endangerment is funny, slimey bunch of rich entitled asses. Its taken me over a year to write this because the experience still makes my blood boil. Thats the kind of service you can expect here. Some places become institutions because of how old they are, others due to a history of good service. This place is one of the former.

Good breakfast but the service was quite poor. Saturday morning was a little busy but Ive been to busier places with much better service. Keep an eye on your server as he can disappear for long periods of time. It took them quite a while to bring us our checks at the end and then to collect them as well. The food was delicious (egg wraps with peppers). Parking is always a pain due to the layout of the square itself (not really their fault).

Love this place! Reluctant at first but walked in to look at the menu and decided to grab a bite. The waitress (who was fantastic by the way) recommended the exemplar burger and it was perfect. Cooked to order and put together with fresh tomato jam instead of ketchup. Everything on the menu was pretty cheap and the two of us had full meals for under 25 bucks. Definitely coming here frequently.

We like to go on Sunday mornings after church - when it is often very busy. With that said, the service has always been great along with the food. I was impressed on one of the busiest days, Mothers Day, they work even hard to make your visit special, to include giving a flower to my wife and my mother during our celebration. Well done!

The look-and-feel here is a mix of country-style and upscale that Im still not sure how I feel about, but the food is good and service is average to above-average. Giving it 5 stars because they have a great breakfast selection and its never too crowded during breakfast hours either.

The food, service and atmosphere were all very well done and I had a great experience. We sat on the patio which was perfect for the morning. I had the eggs benidict which was well presented and fresh. The potatoes were seasoned and crisped well and evything was perfect.

We had a delicious brunch on Wednesday at this lovely old inn and restaurant. Our private dining room was elegantly appointed, the food was delectable, and the service impeccable. We had a really enjoyable time!

What a nice place in a great neighborhood. Food is excellent with lots of choices. This place reminds me lot of places in Europe, the entire hotel as well.

Always had great service, and the food is very good. The restaurant has raised prices too often to remain a standard option in my rotation.

Good food, ambience and service. A bit of a blue hair establishment but also attracts a young crowd. Solid brunch as well.

Its nice, but it wouldnt be my go-to restaurant. Fish was very good. Prime rib was OK, but medium rare seemed unobtainable.

Service was a bit slow and my girlfriends filet was well done instead of medium. Could use a bit of service work
