I ate at this diner about a half dozen times. The breakfast was ok. Nothing to really rave about. It is hit or miss with the lunch/dinner menu. A few dishes were ok, but others really sucked. I do like the burgers though. The prices are WAY out of line though compared with other diners. On my last visit, which will be my last visit, there were 2 of us. The bill came to 37.00 for 2 orders of the twin burger deluxe!! I asked for a little extra coleslaw for myself, and was brought 2 really small bowls, and was charged an extra 4.70!!!! The I asked for just about a 1/4 glass of coke to finish my meal, with no ice, and was charged 1.85 for that!! Also, I found most, not all, of the staff is there doing me a favor. From the wait staff to the front people. They have absolutely no clue on how to be personable. One waitress never cracked a smile the whole time she served us. The young guy who worked the register one time never even looked at me, or asked how everything was. The one thing I did notice every time I was there was that it was never really full. In fact sometimes there were less that a dozen people there. Hey Empire....guess what.....charging for every grain of salt, and every bread crumb, and having staff with the personality of a rusted snow blower should do wonders for your business!!! You lost me as a customer, and anyone I come into contact with!!

Worst experience here today. If i could give this place a 0 star rating, I would. First i order a water and when it comes out something dark is floating in it. So when I let my waiter know he brings out another but this time had something white floating in it. So when my french toast with bananas comes out, noticed a white hair about half way through. I dont have grays so its definitely not mine. The part that upset me the most is when i go up to let the assistant manager know (old short greek man) he started to scream at me as if i was trying to get a comp meal from a 7 dollar french toast. He storms away from the front register and in his rant he shoves an Asian woman. Finally the alleged manager (older female woman) comes to hear what the screaming ruckus is all about she tells me that since i ate half of my plate i need to still pay for it and she doesnt see the hair. As im paying one of the waitress is ringing me out for the full price and says i shouldnt have eaten the whole plate. Just sooo rude!! She doesnt even know what happened. Ive lived in parsippany for years and have been here numerous times. I shall never return to Empire Diner. This is by far the worst experience in my dining history. If you know whats beat for you and your family do not go here.

Wow. As an internet marketer for local restaraunts and physicians I cannot believe what I just experienced. Ordered a $2 tea. Worst $2 I ever spent. When I tried to pay with a card, the older gentleman gave the worst attitude I ever saw in business, about the $10 minimum. Of course, I paid cash and left a $2 tip for the waitress without question or returning the sentiment. The older man still cursed me out in front of other customers. So embraressing. You can be assured I will post another negative review on my Google Local Guides account, which means it will ALWAYS show at the top of the reviews. I might not stop there. I dont want to use my resources to damage this business, but since this is the guy Is who you choose to represent you everyday of the week... Ive got to do this some justice. I build business online and I make a heck of a living doing so. Definitely going to be well invested in exposing this businesses reputation from now on. -Terrible experience

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Breakfast was ok, but a bit overpriced. Coffee was delicious however. My rating is simply from arguing with the extremely rude hostess/register attendant about trying to swipe my phone with Samsung pay in lieu of an actual card. Granted the woman was older and the owner was freaking out...but whats the harm in trying? Eventually I walked her through the process and instead of thanking me, we were repeatedly asked for a drivers license, because we were untrustworthy. The owner was also extremely rude and unapologetic and seemed to not care about losing a customer. Never ever again, will I return here and Ill be sure to spread the word about the terrible attitudes of the upper staff. Lastly, our waitor was fantastic and I hope he finds a better job elsewhere.

The waitress Jen is awesome. That said (when Jen is not my waitress) the experience has been sub-par. Tonight I ordered a house salad. Its 5.95. I also ordered chicken with it. To bump her tip, the waitress (not Jen) charged me 11.95 + 4 bucks for the chicken. Now Im not bitching about the money in a sense that it is going to break me. But after the tip, which Im usually generius, it came out 18 bucks for some mixed greens with chicken. Whats more, I have been more than a regular for 5 years since Ive moved into the area. Ive brought countless friends there etc... Well, that stunt, just lost them a customer. Shame...its so close. :(

We were looking for something decent to eat late on a Friday night after just arriving to town, stumbled upon Empire. They have an extensive menu so there were a lot of options. My friend had the linguine with clams and white sauce he was surprised at how good it was. The service was subpar at best. The waitress was overworked, trying to handle multiple rooms at once so this may have contributed to her forgetfullness and inattentiveness. The older gentleman who was attending to the register was barely civil. Over all I would say its better than a drive thru window but dont expect to be wowed by service.

Ive always liked the Empire Diner for its nice staff and really good eggs. I havent visited here for over a month, however I plan on trying to drop by the next time I meet with friends in the area. My menu selection has been limited to their breakfast foods and basic hamburger (I dont veer far from my favorites at this place), but none of my family have ever complained about anything being terrible here, aside from one instance with the coffee (although it may have just been that days batch, it hasnt been a recurring theme). The parking here is nice - right off of the highway. Would recommend.

If I could I would not give it 1 star.I have been coming to this diner for many years .Every time I come to to NY on business I come hear usually 2 to 3 times and spend around 150 bucks each visit because I bring several peeps with me..Old dude at front always has a stick up his ass and the waitress never refills your drinks. Stopped in on my way out this time and got a piece of cheesecake to go ..Usually its a big piece for 4 bucks ..This time it was half the size for 5..I did not argue because it does not good. All I can say is astalavista You freaking f.cktards
