Great that its open 24/7, probably the only place near me that is. The food doesnt taste amazing, but it will satisfy hunger after a night out or a midnight craving. Service is usually good, but when theyre more than a few people eating, our orders took way too long and we were ignored by the waiter -- although she was extremely nice and chit-chatty. I would recommend getting the sodas and drinks... I always get disco fries but the disco fries arent good, after a few fries, the taste gets .. it is a good portion though. Deserts are good, and pancakes are good as well. Burgers are alright... Although some people say the pizza burger is good, I find it off-putting. Pizzas and burgers shouldnt go together in my opinion. Being open 24/7 shows in the waiters/waitresses, who are very direct but sometimes snappy on bad days (with bad customers). Its understandable, but sometimes things are just misunderstood. The milkshakes are pretty good, but the malted milkshakes are REALLY good (almost like if you liquidised a malt ball and a milk dud together. Kind of surprised that my mint chocolate chip shake came out in this weird white color, but it tasted pretty good. Only thing was that the menu was confusing in stating that you could get "three scoops of your favorite ice cream (and the plural of ice cream is ice cream)". I assumed this meant combining flavors but the waitress assumed I wanted separate milkshakes. In the end, I just went with three scoops of mint chocolate chip. It was good and creamy.

This is a diner, and for a diner is is very good. It has crazy long hours, was open when everything else was closed during both big storms etc. The food ranges from good to very good. Best bets are breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, burgers and especially pancakes! They have an great veggie burger! The fries suck, and service can vary wildly. The front room with windows on River Road seems to have better servers for some reason. Portions are large, prices are low (especially for Summit). My only complaint is that often I will go with another family and the kids (teens) will sit together and the adults will sit somewhere else, and it is obvious that the kids are not being well treated and unless we make it clear that they are with us the servers will often try to impose random "rules" about how much they have to order per person etc. I know servers dont like tables full of kids, but guess what, my kids pay/tip, and will grow up and have families, so watch how you treat them...other than that I consider this an above average diner.

I didnt find anything special about this diner. Just an ordinary diner. But there were a few things I didnt like about the food. My iced tea tasted stale. When I told the waitress about this, she tried to convince me that it was freshly-brewed and that there was nothing wrong with it. She still charged me for it. For my entree, I ordered the 2 eggs with corned beef hash. The home fries that came with it tasted like they were from a can and were slightly sour for some reason. The eggs were slightly overcooked, and the only thing that was descent was the corned beef, but alas, they didnt give me a big enough portion. However, my wife liked her chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries. At least Im glad she was happy -- otherwise my rating wouldve been 1 - Poor.

I wouldnt say it was the best meal I ever had but it was the best diner meal I ever had so I think that says a lot. They are pretty pricey though, I had 4 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, 2 slices of toast (thats a combo plate) coffee and orange juice and it cost me around 16 dollars. That was ONLY for one person. I thought Id get more for what I paid for, Im used to 8-9 dollars a person for a meal like that in a diner but considering it was all fresh and everything was relatively tasty, except the hash browns, and I was left full for half the day I was happy and plan to go back. I have had another meal at another time here and although it was again pricey I felt it was a much better meal. Staff is typical and average but good all the same.

Great service and delicious food! He ordered and enjoyed a platter of Scrambled Eggs, Corned Beef Hash, Home Fries & Toast. His cup of coffee came with a carafe of hot coffee for self-serve refills. My Lamb Gyro platter came with Tzatziki sauce, French Fries, cole slaw, & huge dill pickle half. Unsweetened iced tea with big lemon wedge, just as I like it. Decor is vintage diner inside, with music playing Classic Rock from 50s 60s & 70s. Very enjoyable dinner at the Broadway Diner!

Went there with a buddy for breakfast this morning and were we surprised when the bill came. 2 eggs, toast, banana pancakes, sausage 2 coffees and 2 orange juice came to $32.00. $8.00 for 2 orange juice and they served them in plastic bottles and they were a little on the warm side. I guess this place does not have a juice machine.Guess thats the difference between Summit and Parsippany where we usually go. Never going back. Food is better in Parsippany and even in Florham Park.

This place is OK, but their marketing is a bit over the top. Out front of their Diner is a sign that says "The Worlds Best Pancakes". I guess it worked because that is why I stopped in with the family. However, their pancakes are no different than anyone elses pancakes. Similarly, the dish I ordered was the Eggplant Tower, which was quite good, but only had two pieces of eggplant on it. In the end, this place is a standard NJ Diner, but their labeling and marketing is off.

The food is mediocre at best. Also, when I notified my server that my onion rings (which was noted on the menu specifically came with my meal) were cold. She told me, "Oh, its just a garnish anyway, but Ill get you some more." Then she brought back the same cold onion rings... This was about a month or so ago. I told my boyfriend I never wanted to go back to this place.

YUCK !! My boyfriend and I thought it would be a nice spot. we were SOOOO wrong. Waiter barely speaks English, lemonade looked like it had cleaner in it, and syrup is only given upon request- even when pancakes waffles and French toast are ordered. DONT GO !! mcdonalds in Newark is much classier.

Found this place driving from the New Providence Best Western, trying to go to the Morristown Diner. This was much closer, had a full parking lot at 1am, seemed promising! Great chicken soup, excellent service. Our new go to all night spot now that Scotchwood Diner isnt 24 hour anymore.

I went to the Broadway Diner about 3 years ago and i found it quite disgusting and i did not return for a couple of years. But, the second time i went I loved it. They have changed a lot of stuff and it is now my favorite place to go on the weekends if I am looking for breakfast food.

After being disappointed by several eating establishments between New York and New Jersey, except Carlos Bakery, the Broadway Diner was the best place we ate during our entire trip. They make excellent omelettes and I suggest you try the Sunday Pancakes, they were AWESOME!
