The service was great. From the hostess to the waitress to the busser, the service was top notch. The food was pretty standard diner fair. I had the patty melt which was frankly kind of bland but well cooked and juicy. The curly fries were just that. Im pretty sure the Matzo ball soup came out of a can but it wasnt the cheap stuff. My partner had the veggie quesadilla. Which had hummus. I dont understand that. She said it was entirely uninteresting except for the hummus but it was bad hummus so it wasnt the right kind of interesting. The apple pie was delicious, but it was obvious the dough was either frozen at some point or was stored in a refrigerator with a lot of different stuff in it. It had absorbed what I call "fridge flavor". If you have had it, you know what Im talking about. Id go back, if I were in the area, but I live in Kentucky so that isnt likely. I wouldnt go out of my way for a meal, but if I lived in town the service would bring me back.

I ordered food and drink here and the drink was a fountain soda. I thought my meal tasted bad but it wasnt the food that had me gagging. It was the taste of floor cleaner in my soda. It was as if I was enjoying a stroll through the home cleaning isle at the local supermarket whenever I sipped or smelled the soda. The food wasnt anything to write home about. I should also note that the reason I went there is that its centrally located to the point that they MUST have high customer flow. At their location its impossible not to. Take note of how three reviewers disliked it but the parkinglot always has a few cars. If there were diner police this place would be a memory. Or if the health inspector drank the root beer.

Have been going to this restaurant now for about six months. I have never ordered any food here that wasnt top shelf. Especially good is any of their seafood. The broiled scallops are to die for. You dont have to go down to the shore to get great seafood. Its right here at the Whippany Diner. Their fish and chips (Cod) is always fresh and delicious. Their other food is also great including always fresh salads and above average hamburgers. The waitresses are friendly and always bring the food to you in a timely manner. I dont think Ive ever had a bad dish here. It has become my "go-to" Diner.

I ordered the daily special prime rib. I asked for rare. The medium-well piece of meat I received was so obviously wrong the waitress apologized before she even set it down. The chef had failed to tell her that no rare meat was available today and she felt badly that I had not been given the chance to change my order. No further efforts were made to improve my experience and I was charged every last penny for my prime rib despite its terrible-ness. The coffee is bland but I suppose some people dont like strong tasting coffee. Everything else was edible but nothing was impressively tasty.

Not family friendly! Showed up for a quick meal while heading home with my wife and sleeping child. Was told we could not be seated without closing our stroller (not possible with sleeping child in it). Was told their policy is no strollers due to a previous "incident". Will never go back. Too many diners nearby that dont turn away business to families

Great service as long as you DONT have Bryan as your server. He is downright rude, unattended and disrespectful. Dont order soup if you have him for a server (request another server) he just skims the top. If this place is serious about their business they need to let him go. I will never sit in his section or tip him ever again!

Place got busy REALLY fast after we got there and it took forever for us to get the check. Waitress admitted she thought she gave it to us, so they still get five stars! The food was fantastic. Neither my girlfriend nor myself could finish our massive plates of breakfast for dinner!

...otherwise there are better options. The food isnt bad by any means but the quality leaves something to be desired. The waitress was a character right out of Juno, which was good, because the front desk was an older lady who just seemed to shun us.

Zero stars for a diner that refused service to a woman with her certified service dog. That is ILLEGAL! I recommend everyone go elsewhere. Dont patronize restaurants that illegally refuse service to disabled individuals with their service dogs.

One of my fav spots. Love the Greek lemon soup but its only Friday thru Sunday. Fish is always fresh have had branzino and salmon. Also the stuffed shrimp are delish. Friends are into the wings, chicken slovaki and Greek salad.

Ample sized servings with reasonable prices in the $9-$16 range. I had the spinach pie with Greek salad. It was delicious.
