Ive been going to this place about six years now. The food was excellent till about three years ago. Now its just ok. They changed from the best quality to average quality salads and sides and breads. But the one thing that amuses me most is how they always screw up an order. Today I orderd to Two eggs with ham and cheese on rye to go with a coffee and the register girl asks if its one sandwich or two ??? I explain that it is two eggs on rye with a slice of cheese and a slice of ham placed on top ?? She rings me up at $11.50 !!! I know somethings up but Im just to hungry to explain what an egg sandwich is again. My order arrives and its a two egg platter with potatoes in one box a huge piece of dinner ham in another box and rye toast in a separate wrapper !!!! Plus they forgot the coffee. This makes about the tenth time this year they fudged my order. For the record I was raised here and speak the language very well. LOL!!!!

With plenty of dinners located around my area, it takes a really awesome dinner to keep me coming back time after time. Oakland dinner is my official dinner! I have nothing bad to say about this dinner. The food is diverse and always consistently good. The service is always great, even when its busy on a Sunday. I went to eat with my family today and they told me a 10 min wait. Literally 2 minutes later, we were seated at our table. Best dinner around and thats saying a lot based on the quantity of dinners in this area.

3 of my 5 meals came out incorrectly, one of them twice. The right thing to do is to comp the meal in some fashion or another however the owner did not think it was necessary because "the meals eventually came out correct". Terrible customer service. The food was decent however I will not patronize this Diner again. If the owner knew how to provide customer service I would have definitely come back. There are just too many other good choices not to have to deal with incompetency.

I had breakfast here with my family a few months back. The experience was great. We went on a Sunday morning and were able to get seats no problem. Service was fast too! The food portions were gigantic and at a great price. Everything was delicious and we had so many options to choose from. Im looking forward to getting back there today with my mom. Id highly recommend this diner!

Great lucky find for us travelers returning to Philly. The atmosphere was extremely unique and interesting, validated by good service, diligent cleanliness, and tasty, affordable food. The menu had a wide array of options, with a smaller menu of specials for quicker pickin. Also right next to a gas station, a great bonus! If were around again well probably stop by again!

This diner is consistent, consistent, and consistent. This is an unusually good diner delivering good food, at a good price, and its consistent in it. Other colleagues and I come here for lunch, at least 3 times a week, where the staff knows us and even remembers our normal requests. I give it 4 stars because of the predictability for their the quality and service.

People kept telling me how great Oakland diner was. I was skeptical and wasnt expecting much due to my original thought of the appearance. However; the food I received was top of the line, and lived well up to the hype. The appearance wasnt garrish as I originally had thought, but in fact was full of character and charm. Wonderful staff, and wonderful experience.

Great food. Helpful and friendly wait-staff. We have been dining here since it was called the Hillside Diner and they have always been a great place for a quick and tasty meal. Check out the sign behind the cashier, theyre such a good diner, they were voted the best diner in Passaic county, despite actually residing in Bergen county.

This diner was a longtime favorite greasy spoon of mine as a kid, and its been overhauled to be something of a parody of Diner Americana, with a bright, clean look. If youre looking for authentic, gritty, greasy spoon, this isnt the place. If youre looking for well made diner-style food in a dinerish atmosphere, then drop by.

Food is excellent. Staff is attentive and friendly. Prices are affordable. Parking during peak times can be a challenge. Our favorite breakfast and late night munchies destination. Dont pass up the cheesecake! Update! Sunday, December 17, 2016, the diner was closed! There is a dumpster outside and the place is dark.

With a memorable and fun atmosphere, we enjoyed our visit there. The Nachos were bangin! Our waiter was attentive and quick. Our wraps and sandwiches were also very good. I would definitely head back again as the menu was huge and sneak peaks of other meals ordered around us made me think there is tons to try.

Cool place very unique decor that is very interesting. It is a nice clean diner nostalgic and relaxing The menu is traditional along with some unique dishes I recommend the Thanksgiving wrap Portions on big and you take it home They staff is good and you are not rushed out or hurried to order

When it is 10:45 and they tell you when you walk in Sorry folks we close at 11:00. I cannot speak for the food but the host was rude. We felt we were being invited to leave and so we did, hungry. We will not be going back.

Great service. Waffle had great flavor. Syrup was out of a packet. Eggs were done perfectly and everything else cooked as desired. Happy with my food and experience and will be back. Great specials menu from 6A-10A!

Oakland Diner is great! Good Service, Good Food, Great Staff. The food is varied and has many selections for all types of people. Healthy options available. Price is reasonable never more than $35 for 2 people.
