We stayed at The Laurel Inn next to the diner July 10th thru the 14th to attend the World Superbike Races at Laguna Seca. During our stay we dined at the Black Bear once and ordered our dinner to go once. Both experiences were wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is prepared to perfection, and the servings are HUGE. When I picked up our to go order the place was jumping. Most of the tables were full and they were seating a party of 11! Our order was ready and they even supplied a birthday candle so I could wish my boyfriend a happy birthday. He enjoyed his birthday corn muffin followed by a hearty serving of pot roast and baked potato. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is in the vicinity.

This was by far the worst experience Ive had at the Salinas Black Bear. Walked in and half the tables were empty but full of dirty dishes. Bad waiters. Ask for coffee twice finally got some. Asked for half and half for our coffee never came so I myself got up and got some off the bar. We always get the same breakfast when we go and everything was cold on our plates. Horrible experience. I was going to ask if it was under new management but I was told by a family member that its the same people. Probably wont be back and thats really to bad because we used to enjoy eating there.

Weve eaten at several BB Diners - they serve good food at high prices with spotty service. The Salinas Diner is the worst one weve been to - sat for 15 minutes with no service offered at all - we eventually had to walk out. They should get ZERO stars, but the food is definitely good if you ever get it and you dont mind spending more money than its worth.

We were in town for a short visit and received friendly and helpful service and the sweet cream pancakes were delicious! I would have liked to get our food a bit sooner, it wasnt as hot as it would have been had it been served timely. Still, the value and the flavor were great and we got there in the heat of the Sunday rush.

Do not order Tuna Salad...the worst salad we ever had! They should fire the cook that prepares the salad. Black Bear food preparation should be consistent on all branches but not in Salinas. So beware...if you want Black Bear Tuna Salad...go to the Monterey branch. They salad preparation is awesome!!!

Over 30 min & never received my food, waiter told me he forgot to put in my order. This is the 2nd time this has happened at this location. I will never return try taking care of customers instead of standing around talking about movies!

I love this place! The atmosphere is really nice. Came here with my family and all of the food we got was delicious. I highly recommend the tri-tip dip deluxe, its very good! A++
