The diner was cozy. Not snug by any means but more of a home-y feel to it. Ordered the Chicken Yolanda with beef and barley soup and a side of broccoli with fries. Portions were huge! Amazing bang for buck. Most soup bowls that accompany dinners in other restaurant can probably fit in a small mug. This place brought on a family size bowl of soup which was very tasty. The chicken yolanda had sauteed mushrooms and spinach all covered in a white sauce. Equally delicious and filling! For dessert, I took a black and white cookie home to enjoy with a glass of milk before bedtime... it was very dry and lacked flavor... so minus one star for coming up short on one of my favorite desserts.

Formerly the Duchess Diner (which was not that great in my opinion) they have remodeled the entire building and the place is nice and clean, the mens room has always been 100% spot on clean every time I go and Im a local so I am here about once a week or so. The service is very good, the food is your typical diner fare. The only complaint I have is the soups, which can be better, sometimes they are served lukewarm and just not very appetizing. But other than that, its probably your best diner in the area, I have tried them all.

Food is okay, nothing special at all. The feta cheese tasted a day too old, crackers were stale and the waiter spilled some of one of the dishes in our drinks. Didnt apologize, just changed the drink and didnt offer to replenish the dish. Very abrupt service. Always been a fan of diners but I wouldnt come here again.

I absolutely love this place because of the good food, the big proton size, the fair prices and the nice people. I usually go with my girlfriend or one of my friends at night and the food is always perfect. I highly recommend this place over other diners in the area!

Steak is so good! Im addicted! And dont forget a slice of carrot cake and/or cheese cake! The best! Update (8/5/17) they increased the price of the 3 eggs and a steak from $14, now $19... heartbreaking... will definitely go to edison family diner instead.

Best diner in at least metuchen and the neighboring towns. Ever since they reopened years ago this is my go to place for breakfast or a causal dinner. Always fresh always fast.

The Best Diner! Omelettes are awesome, wait staff is great and dining area is a solid diner layout. NOTE: This is a diner so dont expect five star dining and meals.
