Drove out to Edina intending to have raspberry cheesecake at the CF. Ridiculous wait! Far too crowded. Off the Richter noisy! So we went to Rojos - having "no clue" what to expect? WOW is what we got! It was pretty busy - but from the minute we walked in - the stuff "good experiences" are made of. Our hostess was immediately able to seat us in a less conspicuous area than what can only be described as "the crowded island area seating" in the center of the restaurant. Our server Tyler, though extremely busy - was quick with getting ice water, chips/salsa, and menus to the table, at which time I ordered an Original Mojito, which he returned with relatively quickly. Impressive looking cocktail - but looks as they say... often deceiving. At $11.75, this is my only unsatisfactory part of the visit - other than Dos XX Amber being "out" as well as the Dos XX. Blue Moon sufficed. Avocado egg rolls were great for our appetizer. Dinner was Rojo Meatloaf for myself, which I thought was a delicious and delightful surprise. My dining partner opted for Beef Enchaladas which he also liked extremely well. Tyler was pretty busy - but kept the good service up throughout the dine. Total cost of the experience $60.85 and $16.00 tip. Extremely reasonable - even with the $11.75 faux pas Mojito. We both left with "take home" caddies.

My wife and I stopped in expecting to wait. Just the 2 of us. I counted 7 empty tables and many people waiting (1/2 hour for us). I over heard people complaining about the wait and multiple people leaving due to the wait, after they had already checked in. Any decent manager knows that empty tables arent making money. Id be pissed if I owned it or even was a server. After being seated our waitress stops by and asks what we would like to drink? I asked if theres craft beer available. She flips the menu in my hands over and points at the beer list (all were listing of the brewery, ut, not the beer from said breweryl. I then ask which Fulton is on tap. She said one thing, went and checked, and then told me a different beer. Ive served in restaurants and know that you have to memorize the beer available along with the wine(especially if anot appetizer of guacamole is $10.95 in the restaurant). Food was good. Waitress checked on us twice. As Im eating, I notice some dust floating around my face. Then more. Then more. If youre going to a Rojo, go to West End. Not this poorly managed, trained, dirty place.

The food was pretty tasty but the sweet potato in the vegetarian tacos was hard, undercooked. The wait was extremely long to receive water, and our table of seven got our waters at three different times - goofy. 3 margaritas were ordered and took over 15 minutes to arrive from the bar 4 feet from our table. We had no silverware or napkins, which we reported to the waitress, we needed them with the chips and salsa, but they still hadnt been brought to us 25 minutes later when our food arrived. The place was not full so apparently it was understaffed because the waitress seemed to be rushing around. Several diners did not care for the sweet rice which takes up a third part of the plate of food. Food portions are small, but the margaritas were large and potent (and $9.50). Not up to the standards of my previous visits.

I have been to Rojo before for their happy hour margaritas and was pleased with my experience- the margarita was tasty and the chips and salsa were fantastic. Now eating off the menu was a totally different experience. Menu items were extremely expensive for the amount of food you get- the portions are ridiculously small for the price. It tasted okay- the carne asada was good but I payed almost $20 for lobster enchiladas that were completely lackluster and were in desperate need of salt. Oh, and $10 for guacamole? Not only was it again a small portion for the price, it had zero salt- Im talking almost no flavor at all. Food also took forever coming out of the kitchen. Overall a mediocre experience. If youre going to spend $80+ on dinner for 3 go somewhere where you wont leave hungry.

Where do I start? The service is extra slow with only 2 waitresses for a huge room full of people. And our waitress in particular was a sweet young girl, but very bad at taking orders. She took forever to come and take orders, and when the food arrived it was the wrong item!! We had to send it back and wait some more time...The food by itself was mediocre. Absolutely no heat in the food. Not even salt n pepper. The quantity is very less for the price they charge. The only good thing was the strawberry jalapeno margarita we ordered (again overpriced). Atleast the cocktail had a kick to it. I would never go back to this place. There are so many other mexican places that serve flavorful food for less price.

Service was fine for us. Just your typical Americanized overpriced Mexican food. Tiny portions but the food was good. I found it odd that the tacos didnt come with doubled-up corn tortillas, limes or any choice of sauce/salsa, but under sides you could order some for over 2 bucks. Two drinks and two orders of tacos cost us 60 bucks, yikes! And the tacos were the cheapest entrees on the menu. Could have had authentic Mexican and twice as much of it for a third of the price.

I went in recently for a first date with a guy, and I was very nervous. When I walked in, I was greeted by this very charming and sweet young woman. I asked her what her name was, and she said something like Anna? She was funny and I didnt feel as nervous about my date. Shes perfect for her job. I hope I got her name right. The rest of the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. SO delicious. Will definitely be coming back. (and nailed that first date!)

I just wanted to take the time to say that your hostess Annie is absolutely adorable and kind. She welcomed me and my husband warmly. Right after she sat us, the dining room seemed to fill up fast. I looked up from my meal and saw that she was not only greeting people but also cleaning off tables and bringing food to people. It was impressive. On top of that, my server Haley was perfect and the food was magnificent.

Ive always liked Rojo appetizers, drink selection, nothing but the best Tequila...Don Julio...that being said, limited tap selection, ordering a Mexican beer in a Mexican restaurant and not getting it on tap is sort of weird...and the staff, albeit pleasant, isnt overly friendly...two bartenders spent more time behind the bar complaining to each other about something I didnt bother to pay attention to.

Very small portions and high prices. Waitress told us we could not get ground beef in a burrito because they only have shredded beef and they "pre-roll" the shreaded beef into, the tortilla earlier in the day. Soft tacos and fajitas are served on mini tortillas. When I say mini I am being kind. It became comical, portions.made me feel like a giant. Seriously spend your money here at your own risk.

My family and I were celebrating my sisters 21st. The place looked very nice and the patio space was luxurious. When my sister in law ordered her drink, she was greeted by a dead insect in it. After they got her a new drink imagine her surprise when we find another dead bug. I am thoroughly disappointed with the events that transpired. And the soup was ass. Not coming back.
