The only reason Im giving this review two stars is because the bartenders were very friendly and fast but the rest falls on the dj and bouncing staff. The dj caused a scene that never should of happened. I was out celebrating my brothers birthday on Feb. 4th with a group of sober friends (we had just started the night so none of us were drunk), my brother went up to the dj to request a sing since other people were requesting sings he thought he could do it too and the dj kept shooing him away and before you know it the dj flashed his flashlight to the bouncers and from there my brother, brother n law and boyfriend got escorted outside while trying to explain that all my brother only wanted is to hear a song. I went up to the dj before getting kicked out to request a "song" and having his full attention, I called him out on it. Of course he got butt hurt again! So man up dj! Have fun and be professional!

What a long day..... I had just returned from a LONG weekend in Vegas and I just wanted a nice quite place to grab a beer and a byte to eat. Being that it was a Tuesday evening I didn’t think that would be to difficult of a task. Unfortunately for me, it was trivia night and every time the hostess would broadcast a question via the PA, my pounding cranium pleaded w/ me to move to a more secluded location. I apologized to the bar keep for my relocation, but he completely understood and agreed that the volume was a little loud that night. With that said, the volume was reduced, I sat in my little corner and enjoyed my little snack. I even stuck around to obtain the trivia answers. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I was greeted w/ a smile by every staff member. It was nice to be back.

Ive never been refused entry to a bar in downtown Minneapolis in my life, but apparently this little hole in the wall thinks theyre special. I had money to spend in this establishment but did not get the chance to do so because the bouncer at the door did not like what I was wearing. He said my gray dress slacks were sweatpants (Um...no. They arent. Sweatpants generally have elastic and/or drawstrings and are for exercising. These were light gray hemmed slacks.) and denied entry to me and my friend. I saw a girl leaving the place wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, but I guess maybe you can get away with that if the bouncer thinks youre cute. I wont be going back there, and believe me - I tell EVERYONE about the dress code and the trained ape that guards the door.

I used to love this bar! Great beer selection, great crowd, awesome bartenders that know beer. I recommend it to the bachelorette party I was with tonight. Before tonight I have always recommended this place... I was literally refused to be let in because one of the people I was with coughed. Seriously... - I was denied because I was with someone who coughed. "That is disgusting, you and your group is not allowed to be in here, that is so disgusting!" Well, I dont know man, maybe because its pouring and cold out. Not to mention we had reservations! They lost at least 1K$(15 people?) worth of service because of this. I will never goto this place again, how does anyone have a relaxing night with that type of service? Ruined my whole night.

Received the worst service here this past weekend. Our bartender refused to give my friends and I chasers for our shots claiming that we never asked for one with attitude and walked away helping other customers. We kept trying to get his attention, but to no avail. Seemed as though he was purposely ignoring us. When we finally got help from a different bartender, he finally came over and was unwilling to give us his name. My friend spoke with the manager on duty and point blank said hes not going to do anything about. What kind of business are you running here? Im appalled. Will never step foot here again.

Love 508 for date night so we decided to use for our rehearsal dinner next friday night 6/30/17. Speaking in terms of the food- its simply amazing. In terms of event- throughout the process of booking, I realized their customer service is a notch above. Jasmine Moore has especially has been nothing but helpful and has been in non stop communication for 6+ months. She has continually bent over backwards to accommodate my *sometimes* bridezilla-ish requests. I will be a lifelong customer of 508! Highly recommend

One of the worst experiences i have had in Minneapolis. The owner should be ashamed of the staff that they have hired. I had a birthday party here, food was great, but does not make up for the rude and inconsiderate staff. The owner should be ashamed by this presence in Minneapolis. This review will definitely affect business in the future in a negative way. Think twice about booking anything here. I would strongly recommend a follow up in regards to this review.

Food is OK, lots of beer selection. But bouncers can get violent for no good reason. Saw one incident where the coat room had lost a persons coat and he was complaining (not loudly, just asking where his coat was so he wouldnt freeze to death). Bouncer pushed him out the door and down the steps. Kid fell down and bouncer was still going after him. We had to pull him off the kid along with the other bouncers. Pretty scary stuff.

The official Badger bar of Minneapolis, all of the Badger games are viewed there. They have badger specials for food and drinks. The cheapest during a game with the best atmosphere. Their basement is the perfect size to fit the capacity but still feel like you are enjoying the crowd. Get there early for big games. The servers are amazing. They have a back space where they have a bags board and the dancing is fun at night.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place, but still find myself coming back every weekend night. Music is always playing and people are always dancing (downstairs). Upstairs is a bit more calm where you can talk to your date or mingle with others. Its a must try if you are into the night life, but beware itll become your go to spot real quick if you dont be careful

Nice atmosphere, decent food. However, this place jsnt a "fit" for some people. A friend and myself decided to attend a party here last night, immediately upon our entering the dance space the GM "Jon" is ok. A bit passive agressive and indirect with his approach to telling patrons their not dressed to the "code". Again, decent place not my vibe, not my crowd.

Went to Plant Night at the 508 with my Daughters. We had dinner before the event and was pleasantly surprised by the menu choices. Each of us had different entrees and they were all excellent. Our waiter was attentive, and the food came without too long of a wait. Definitely will go back again. One thing to note, restrooms are in the basement.

A typical downtown American bar and restaurant with a basement club that has a live DJ and bar. The bartenders are fast, skilled, and friendly. Some of the more swift among Minneapolis bars, which is nice since no one likes to wait. Simple mixed drinks are inexpensive compared to overhyped competitors like Honey. This gets my recommendation.
