Im a photographer, and I had a meeting here with one of my wedding clients on a Sunday evening. Not the best idea. We took up a booth for our meeting, and waited to order until the end. Our meeting lasted 20 maybe 25 minutes. The entire time though, our server kept pestering us to order something. We kept assuring her that we would order after we were done, and I had ordered a drink in the mean time. But because our client we were meeting with didnt want to order anything, our server essentially kicked her out and told us to move to a smaller table. It was EXTREMELY rude. She told her, "look, I have a full restaurant right now. If youre not going to order anything, I cant have you sit here." I was stunned. I get it, youre packed, and you want to seat more people, but be a little bit more considerate to your current customers - not blatantly kick out our client/guest. Despite the apprehensibly rude waitress, we surrendered to her demands, and moved to a smaller table to order dinner. We also got a new waiter, who was actually nice and friendly - good to know at least someone there had proper customer service etiquette. Even though they were completely packed, we didnt wait too long for our food, and it was delicious. Best fish tacos ever. My cocktail was excellent as well. I would definitely give this place another try, they have wonderful food and I like the atmosphere. But to our unkind waitress - I dont know if you were just having a bad day or what, but you came off as a hideous horsebeast. Please do better next time.

I ended up here after a failed attempt at eating at another spot around the corner. The place looked inviting with outdoor seating, friendly customer smiles and looked like great service. Everything here turned out to be mediocre at best. For a Friday night we were seated quite promptly. My party decided to splurge on cheese curds, which turned out to be not fried. We were all disappointed in the cheese curds, due to the fact of them not being fried nor them being “squeaky” on the teeth how fresh cheese curds should be. Avoid the cheese curds and save your money on them. We ordered the Mexicali dog, which was quite delicious! The only issue for me was I wish it was dressed up more, more toppings and more sauce would have been appropriate. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed with the clientele that night and became confused or frustrated with how we wanted our bill split in two, 4 people 2 people per bill. That simple! We got our checks and the items were all over the place. Overall, for me this place seemed like a good spot for late night drunk food, but not for date night. I will give it 3 stars as it has average food and average service.

comparing this place to the other coffee shops in the city, i would say that muddy waters is tops. i am an everyday coffee guy. i have been to every coffee shop in minneapolis. they have the best coffee and esspresso and really interesting specialty drinks like their awesome thai coffee. But they also have stuff that i think all coffee shops should have. good, real, affordable food as compared to the six to eight dollar sandwhiches other places have. they carry granola bars, bananas, donuts, pb&j, and the best breakfast sandwhich at a real price, 3.50. they also carry other tasty stuff. but you can also get a can of soda or a gatorade if you need one. A lot of those small things. for instance they carry good hot sauce if you need it for a breakfast sandwhich. they have dog treats for your dog. they have the nicest staff. and have more outside seating than other coffeeshops. its a good coffee shop.

I went here for a girls night for light appetizers and drinks. We made it to happy hour and were able to order $3 glasses of house wine. Win! They had a full bar with a really nice rustic feeling. Overall, the place has a cozy and relaxed vibe. They had a limited food menu, extensive drinks list and even café items. I could see it being a great spot for a cup of coffee and conversation during the day. My group shared the Pot Roast Sliders, Chicken wings, and Yucca Fries. Everything was fantastic. The yucca fries were my favorite because they came with a delicious dipping salsa. The experience was great, our server was nice, and the atmosphere is great for drinks any night of the week with friends. Id check it out again to explore their beer menu since that seems to be a big callout on other reviews.

Have to say, weve been disappointed with Muddy Waters now for about the past year. When they first opened in the current location, they did some really creative things in the kitchen, the wait staff was super and we loved the place. Sunday brunch used to be a treat but now, not so much. The food is ho-hum and toke forever to get served, the coffee was bitter and didnt even get refilled, the hostess wouldnt seat us at a requested table because we were two and it was a four-top, but there werent that many people in the place, so what did it matter. Overall, the place has just gone way down-hill, and I dont think will bother coming back. Too bad, like a lot of other places, they need to refresh things to keep it going at a higher level.

Im here at the moment. When I walked in no one was there to serve me. they were playing a game in the back yelling and screaming at each other. Someone yelled at me from the back corner "what can i get you?" Now even when Im sitting here trying to study and drink my coffee in a chill area the people that are working here are screaming and being overly loud towards each other. It also seems that their friends are here and theyre just hanging out wile theyre working. I like the chill environment, but when their screaming and yelling you can hardly concentrate on anything. The place has great food and pretty cheap coffee, so thats nice. However, its very hot in here too when its so nice outside.

This is a charming place. We ordered a beef tongue sandwich, pot roast sliders, fish tacos and Topher wanted to try out the chicken fried bacon so we got a side of that. Our waitress Lisa, has been very personable and accommodating. Wow! I never thought I would enjoy eating tongue but I did! Stone ground mustard made the sandwich perfect. Pot roast slider were very tasty and fish tacos were good, the slaw just needed a little more punch to it but it was good. Chicken fried bacon... I can feel my blood thickening but I have to admit it was fantastic. The banana cream pie is out of this world! Real pastry cream and flashed bananas! The Guinness ginger spice cake was simply the best!!! A must visit!

mornings are great here, grab a nook booth with a sunlight! Daily Specials on pizza are always a great way to try something new. The coffee bar is legendary, and the bar bar is also legendary. Both have great drinks in their respective areas. The brunch usually has a live DJ and the breakfast pizza is a 14" pizza that can feed 2-3 ppl very easily. A great late night night cap spot as well, belly up to the bar, or go to the back of the restaurant and get the large nook to the left (seats 8-12) or to the right (private room that can accomodate up to 16-20 ppl) their patio is cozy in the warmer Minnesota months and a great place to hang outdoors with friends out of the chaos that can be Lyndale.
