Hibachi - have been here a few times for the hibachi, and very satisfied almost every time. Good food and fun hibachi chiefs. Rarely a wait and easy parking. Worth the $$ (using online coupon). Mixed results with the server (one girl, cant remember her name, always forgets things... but at least she is nice). Good portions. Sushi - not recommended. Very poor attention/service a couple different times. Recent experience; "Jenny" was the server on our receipt but almost everyone working helped us out at one point throughout the night since she seemed to disappear. Took quite a while to place first order, and had to flag down service a few times to order more rounds of sushi. Finally when we were ready for the check, had to wait longer (as we watched 3 different servers eat at the bar for close to 20 minutes during this time, worst part, they could see me looking at them for service) and finally asked the receptionist. Took more time for someone to run my card. This was during a very slow night so its completely unacceptable to receive this poor of service. Sushi itself was ok, smaller sized rolls, alright taste. Only worth the $$ since it was a half off sushi special. Full price would be a rip off. I really wish the service would be better here because its close by and I could see becoming a regular, but our last visit really let us down.

Came here as part of a group of 8. We sat at one of the hibachi tables. It wasnt explained to us up front but you need a minimum of 4 hibachi orders in order to get a chef to do the show. It makes sense but should be explained up front. We did the minimum and ordered some sushi as well. The chefs show was OK but was nothing spectacular or engaging. We felt as if the other chefs at the other tables were more engaging. Half way through our show, the table quit working and it seems like that was the point it went downhill. There was a clear lack of communication between the chef and the staff because we were told by the chef that we would have to move to another table. Then after the chef had taken the protein off of the grill to move it to another table, he put it back on and started cooking with the residual heat. There shouldnt have been this confusion. I get that problems can occur but at least keep the customer informed of whats going to happen. The sushi was OK and hit the spot. I wouldnt bother with the hibachi show again. If youre on the fence about it, skip it or go somewhere else that does it.

Ive been here twice and I should have learned the lesson. Overpriced for the quality of food. If the basic ingredient in a japanese restaurant is rice, the cook missed the whole point. Dry, small portion, and for sure, not the right type of rice for sushi. Teishoku, or a set meal, was served with no rice, no miso soup or salad as it stated in the menu. The entrees took more than 25 minutes and they expedited our order only after we complained. What they were fast was on the check though. I paid almost $100.00 tip included but the food and service worth probably 40 bucks. If you truly have japanese food before, as a fresh, tasty cuisine, you know this restaurant is not near close to what is supposed to be.

Avoid. Rude staff, long wait times to take order. Some food tastes like out of a freezer section from Walmart that was thrown into a microwave. Sushi that has description having lots of fish came out with just write and carrots, with a paper-thing layer of fish. They forgot to bring out some food items, but put them on the bill. I wrote a very detailed review but Google wont take it, so I emailed it to restaurant directly. This place could be nice, but needs to train their staff some hospitality, and chefs - some cooking, and not scamp on the fish in the sushi. Other rolls were good though. Waiters need to stop running around, creates this unpleasant atmosphere that rushes customers.

Food is great. They prepare the sushi very well. They have all day happy hour on food, practically everyday so you can assume the HH prices are their regular prices. Service is stoic usually but quick and efficient. It can get a bit loud if you dont do hibachi seating but still can hear the constant banging of the cooking tools. It usually isnt very crowded. The only gripe I would have is it could be a bit cleaner. Sometimes the tables are still sticky or their is a bunch of spilled food on the floor.

I asked the server about the food after waiting for 30 mins and his answer was kitchen is cooking your food. They are slow. U can complain to the manager..I mean wtf!!! They saw I had a small kid waiting on the food but neither manager or anyone cared..The worst Osaka in the town. This branch should fun from other one like Apple Valley and Coon Rapids!!!!

I used to love this place. They have great specials all of the time which is nice. Unfortunately in the past year they have gone down hill. The sushi never tastes as fresh as it used to. My cousins 2 previous experiences have left him sick for a few days after eating here. He thinks its from the rice being heated up then cooled down at night & heated again & so on. Instead of new rice each day they just use the old stuff until its gone.

My favorite place for sushi in the metro. The rest of the menu can be hit and miss, but the sushi is great. Most sushi places around town give you balls of rice with varying amounts of fish. Not here. For the nigiri, I always get a nice hunk of fish draped over a small rice ball with both ends of the fish draping into the plate like they should. For the rolls, the outer rice layer, on the rolls that have it, are only a few grains thick.

This review is based on the sushi and not the hibachi. Not one of the best sushi places, but its one of the better ones around the Bloomington area. They have a good selection of specialty rolls to choose from so thats a plus. Its best to go a couple hours before closing since they have up to half-off rolls. My girlfriend and I still have to try out the hibachi and will probably try it out soon. If you are in the area, give it a shot.

I ordered a Hibachi lunch combo, steak and shrimp at 11:18AM (they open at 11). The guy who picked up said they would have it ready in ten minutes. I was thinking, wow thats pretty fast. Picked up the food, ate it, and it was the most disgusting meal i have ever had at any Osaka locations Ive ever been to. You could totally tell it was microwaved leftovers, it did not taste fresh at all, so disappointing.
