First off the food was excellent. My kids got a pizza (half pepperoni half cheese which the waitress suggested was too difficult at first), my husband got sliced brisket, pulled pork and turkey with collard greens and cole slaw, I got a half dark chicken and chopped brisket with and cheese and baked beans. The chicken was excellent. The sliced brisket was excellent. The pizza was excellent. The Mac and cheese was Beyond excellent! It rivals (but does not quite surpass) The Clarkston Union. The bbq sauce was only ok as was the rest of the food. Now the reason for the three review.... the service was atrocious. The table we were seated at had been empty from the time we entered the building and yet we had too wait for ten minutes. The food was delivered in a timely manner but the rest was bad. At one point one of the sauce bottles exploded on my husband, even crossing the table to land on my own face. His shirt is possibly ruined. We told the waiter expecting to be offered to have our dry clean taken care off, instead we got napkins. This was no small explosion and was due entirely to a non functional bottle. After this our waiter (there was a server change) was completely MIA. My husband had to search for him to get the check. Well go back for the food but maybe stick to take out.

Just went to Bad Brads on 23 Mile last week for the first time. Had an issue finding the door, but that was the only negative issue I had. I ordered the pulled pork platter. The macaroni and cheese was awesome, probably the best I have had. Baked beans were good and I liked their selection of sauces. However, the price you pay for what you get is a bit ridiculous, and yeah, they are one of those restaurants that charges over $2 for a soft drink. If you order mac n cheese as a side, be prepared to pay an extra $1.50. And if you want to order a side, even just cornbread, it is $3. I will not be a regular and may not ever go back, as it just isnt a place I can really afford. At least I looked at the menu online beforehand so I knew how much money to bring, and to not order a drink. Food/service/atmosphere is good, but the prices are not.

Been there a bunch of times now. Everything about the place is Awesome! The set up inside is perfect feeling like a great bbq place.. The outside section is even better with the little pond and better yet the fireplace they burn hard wood in so you smell it driving up to the place and while you sit outside. Pretty decent selection of beers and proudly serving a rotational assortment of craft beers, including a bad brad lager they have Atwater brewery make just for them, not to mention the select bourbon list again having a special bourbon made just for them. Now onto whats really important..the food. EXCELLENT! Everything tried there so far has been perfect. dont hesitate to try the chicken and waffles..cant wait to eventually try the whole menu. Great staff and management. Good job brad bads!

Stopped in for Dinner. We started with mini-chicken chimis for an appetizer. They were very tasty. I had 2 meat plate with pork sausage, brisket and added 1/4 rack of ribs. I selected pit beans and corn bread as sides. The sausage was pretty good, the ribs were great, and the brisket was unbelievably tender and tasty. I was quite impressed. This was the best brisket I have had in years (including traveling all through the south earlier this year - and yep that included multiple places in Texas). The beans were very tasty also and had a little kick. The corn bread was some of the best I have ever had. I was really impressed with this place. The server we had was all over getting everything we wanted all throughout our visit. I highly recommend going here, but plan for a wait most times.

The food is unreal. I have yet to find a meat that isnt delicious at this place. Candied bacon, smoked everything. The first time we went we were a bit foolish and focused on the pork and beef, but dont make that same mistake. The chicken is awesome; juicy and tender. Since going the first time we get the Big Pig Gig which isnt the cheapest way to go about things, but its definitely the best way to get a little of all of their offerings. Another tip would be to arrive early. Usually theres about an hour wait and they dont take reservations or call aheads, but they do have a good beer selection, and when its poured into a 32oz. jar, who would have a problem hanging out for a bit. Highly recommended!

Bad Brads BBQ was suggested to us by many people who live here when we moved to Shelby. There service is great! Super friendly and my glass was never empty, sweet tea had a very interesting flavor to it! BBQ nachos was a great suggestion by our waitress. We are originally from St. Louis so we ordered the half rack of St. Louis ribs. Now Ive had Pappys BBQ arguably the best St. Louis BBQ so when I say I didnt think much of their ribs you must understand I hacertainly very high standards. Will certainly go back and try other options! Side note, if youre not really tall sit at a booth and not table, the tables are made for giants!

I brag to people how good the Mac and Cheese is. Not on Sept 9. They changed the cheese blend. Not a good a good blend. They used a deep cast iron bowl and the outside was hot and inside cold. I sent it back. Received another bowl and it was a little better but the taste was off. Then the waitress told us they changed the cheese blend and changed the bowl. A month ago it was great this new blend is a flop. I hope they go back to the old way and back to the narrower dishes. Eddie sandwich is good. Ribs ok. Chicken wings are good. Better the next day. Smoke flavor gets thru meat.

I have eaten in and carried out numerous times. Either option I am treated with so much respect as a customer and friend. Over the phone, they are very courteous and polite, and they dont make you feel like a burden. Eating in is the same. They do almost anything they can to make your meal the best meal. Great food and good prices. Beer/drinks are a bit too expensive compare to other bbq eateries, but this places has a much better beer selection. It all depends what time and day you go here because waiting to be seated at a table can take up to an hour some times, so plan ahead.

My daughter and I love ribs, and we were so excited to try this place out. The ribs were served at room temperature and the sauces on the table to accompany them were also room temperature. My daughters ribs were pink and full of fat. Her vegetables were soggy, and her fries were served at room temperature. My ribs were not as pink and fatty, but I do not enjoy eating ribs that are not properly heated. I wonder how long they sat out before they were served to us. For $16.99 for a half slab dinner, I expected much more. We were very disappointed and we will not be returning.
