Tried out new restaurant based on friends recommendation. BlueFin was clean and upscale restaurant without top price. Fish and ingredient were quite fresh and taste reminds me of small boutique restaurant in Osaka. Fresh hamachi tataki (unseared type) was best in SouthBay. The ponju sauce was great and hamachi was fresh sweet. Shark Attack (???) roll was mouth watering with nice kick from fresh jalapeno. Servers were friendly but they hung out by themselves by the kitchen. Great food and clean upscale restaurant but uneasy execution by the servers. I hope they improve soon, because their food and interior ambiance is fresh great! Try their Yacuza from bar also.

Great sushi, a good drinks menu and usually (might be busy if theres a game or event at the SAP Center nearby) no problem getting a table immediately without a reservation. Weve been many times and have never been disappointed (though I would advise sticking to the menu if youre ordering cocktails). Had the omakase chefs menu and it was a great meal for the price. The (oyster, salmon, hamachi, honeymoon) shooters are delightful and definitely worth trying.

I sat at the bar and had a couple cocktails, the kentucky bourban cocktail and others were suggested by the bartender and I do not regret trying any of them as they were all amazing. For food I had some oysters which were very very good. Also, if you are there for a Sharks game make sure to come real early as it can get packed up pretty quickly with fans in like an hour time window so if you dont you have to wait a bit. Overall great place.

Bluefin Sushi & Japanese Restaurant is my go to local spot for good rolls, hamachi kama, and a solid chirashi. For the rolls, I really like Top Gun and King Kong. The Kama is always cooked perfectly and you get a fair portion. The fish selected for the chirashi are always great cuts w excellent texture and taste. At this price point, there really arent that many places coming close to Bluefin Sushi & Japanese Restaurant.

Overprice sushi. The restaurant looks nice and neat. 1 star for that. If you are going to host a birthday party, be careful. They charge "cutting cake fee" (and I quote: "$2/ slice")- even on you own birthday cake. They would not tell u and automatically include in your bill, so look before you sign. Happy hour is only at the bar, not at table. Sushi is ok. Too much for what its worth. Sushi infinity is near by.

too expensive for the mediocre quality, service and decor. we did like the shooters, but $18 sushi rolls were falling apart had lots of mayo and pepper. Chefs wore no head covering!!! wifi did not work and mobile connectivity was very poor behind these walls. the pricing is very high for a "$$" rated restaurant!! Service was slow and we waited for 10-15 min for the shooters.

Fresh and delicious sushi and good cocktails. Have come here twice, most recently enjoyed the Omakase which was the prefect amount of food, great variety at a great price point (highly recommend). The owner/chef even comes to the table which is quite nice.

Modern interior. Excellent food. Some of the best Korean BBQ beef Ive had in California. The sushi is excellent. Generous servings. The owner, Jun and his team are artists. Do yourself a favor and come here. I do every coupe weeks and always love it.

A cut above discount sushi, but the service was slow and my group was left waiting with no Maitre d for an uncomfortable amount of time. We had a reservation but everyone on staff seemed to dodge roll away from our attempts to get their attention.

The food was wonderful. We got into town about 9pm and they are open late so we walked over. They have great specials on drinks and food from 10 to 12. We ended up eating to much but loved it all. Would go back if ever in this area again.

Celebrated my daughters 30th birthday. Appetizers were great so was our dishes. Only warning make sure you get the pricing on the dishes with crab price is over 50 dollars a plate. Food and service was great will definitely go back.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki and maybe some places do it differently but there literally wasnt a drop of sauce on it. It was served with a "salad" with two pieces of broccoli and three carrot sticks. Zero flavor and $20 to boot!

Great place. Nice bar and menu. Kevin the hot waiter/bartender suggested a few items from the chefs menu and let him decide for me. Ill definitely be back for the food and wine and Kevin for sure. Yummy..

Fancy restaurant with creative specials. You pay for what you get with individual rolls coming in just under $10/roll, so not an everyday kind of place, but the sushi was good enough

Not as good as Kitcho in terms of quality of sushi. My salmon sashimi in the sushi boat was too cold. But very nice atmosphere and great service. Perfect for bringing a date.

A local staple in the center of San Jose. Its always good and consistent, easy to get it, and have all my favorite items. Their red dragon roll cannot be beat.

Tasty dishes all the way around. Of course youll try the sushi, but the Japanese pickle small dish is absolutely a fun share. Tae was fantastic!
