Though the name doesnt suggest it, Real Deal has the best pizza in the area: thin crust, fresh cheese and sauce. That is, unless you like the ubiquitous Greek pizza, which, to me, is an oxymoron -- like a Chinese knish or Italian moo goo gai pan. Real Deals pizza is Italian pizza, the way its supposed to be. There is also a wide variety of sandwiches, subs, paninis and wraps; all that Ive tried so far have ranged from very good to excellent. The salads are fresh as well. (I cant attest to the Caesar dressing, as I get the chicken Caesar salad without dressing and then put my own on.) We live a short walk from Real Deal, and were so happy they came to Jamaica Plain.

Good food, horrible service. Ive been this place three tries because Ive heard many good things about it but each time I go they cant seem to get their act together. Clearly theyre very busy, or at least when Ive gone but they cant seem to handle the crowd. It appears theyre not really any kind of system going on there and theyre flying by the seat of their pants. Ive ordered food and sat there waiting as everyone else got their order and I never got mine. Sometimes that can happen but when I politely ask where if my order is up and you clearly forgot just apologize and try to make it right dont tell me that its almost up when clearly it hasnt even been put in.

Everything you want from a local, neighborhood pizza/sandwich joint. There are 3 locations (West Roxbury & Cleveland Circle). I love the pizza. It is huge! I am always impressed by their sandwiches and wraps...theyre just a touch better/faster/fresher than everywhere else. The homemade veggie burger is fantastic, and I love the bread they use for sandwiches. The ultimate BLT is really good and the fig n pig (prosciutto, blue cheese spread, fig) is amazing. They do a great job with all categories of their menu. Everything is a win!

I usually eat the WR location, but same owner so this applies here too - The food quality use to be very good, now it is just average. The prices are higher than avg. Service is horrible 30-45 minute wait during peak times. Last time I did take out, they forgot to include a part of my order. They would not deliver it because I was too far away, but said they would credit my account. I tried to place an order the following weekend and they said there was no record of credit and they would not honor it. Im done with this place.

One of my favorite spots for sandwiches in JP (The one in West Roxbury is great, too!) I swear they have the BEST honey mustard (but they call it honey ginger...) I especially love the staff here -- so friendly and accommodating, even when I want to make endless substitutions or additions. I would definitely recommend this deli if youre looking for great hot or cold sandwiches - you have to try the Uncle Jr panini...The sriracha mayo is delish! :)

Third time I ordered THEIR "signature" sandwich..A Turkey Sub and they screwed up. Picked it up and at home all I got, again, was a roll, turkey and mayo. No bacon or lettuce or tomato or toasted as directed. A real screw up. Their response: well you can drive back.... Really! Thats it. Guess what 3 times is enough. No wonder they are not as busy as when they first opened. Best to go elsewhere on Centre Street, JP.

I like the pizza. Tons of wacky slices so you dont have to spring for a whole Pie to get your Buffalo chicken fix. Generously proportioned. They make the type of pizza with lots of cornmeal underneath the crust to keep it from sticking. It is part of a chain but doesnt have a corny, impersonal feel. It always seems like there are a million people working when I come in here.

The Real Deal is a great place to bring people who are picky or indecisive; with offerings like pizza, burgers, pressed sandwiches, wraps and hoagies (not to mention baked goods, soups and salads), youre sure to satisfy the most demanding diner. [Pro tip: peruse one of their takeout menus; the board on the wall can be hard to read with so many items crammed on it.]

CALLED IN ORDER FOR PICK UP, ARRIVED, PAID FOR ENTIRE ORDER, was NOT READY, REQUESTED REFUND FOR PIZZA, WANTED ME TO WAIT 5 minutes. When does a pizza cooked in 5 minutes, not in my book. I wanted cook pizza not raw pizza. THEY TOLD ME THE COST FOR PIZZA was returned to the card when it was not. WATCH CREDIT PAYMENTS and checked for raw pizza.

This place has a name that fits, its the real deal. Right in the heart of JP their menu consists of a plentiful variety of sandwich offerings, each with ingredients that are extremely flavorful and high quality. It was clear to me from he first time I tried this place that they just get it. Tip: try the EB Melt...your welcome.

Contender for best pizza in Boston, and the buffalo chicken is fantastic . Staff is always friendly and accommodating. It might be a tad on the pricey side compared to other delis in town but you pay for quality. Ive been ordering from them since I found out about them 5 or 6 years ago and Ill never stop . Try it.

Great place for burgers. This is definitely not fast food, it took 17 minutes to get our food. They had the courtesy to warn me about this when ordering a burger so thats good :) Totally worth the wait, one of the best burgers ive ever had. However very expensive

This place does not know the meaning of the word, "small". If youre looking for just a small sandwich to tide you over, keep looking. On the other hand, if you want a plus-sized sandwich and a bagful of fries, the food here is quite tasty.

Delicious! Though busy, the staff are very efficient, and took down orders exceptionally quickly. After an acceptable wait time, I got my fantastic Enforcer panini. Perfect! Not to mention the selection was pretty fantastic.

Unimpressive. Should be a whole lot better. Dont understand why there isnt a really good sub shop in JP. The Same Old Place used to be, but the owner died and now their pizzas and subs are barely edible.

The Green Monster Burger is to die for. The meat is so fresh and succulent, and those curly fries I cant even begin to describe. Probably one of the best burgers Ive tried in a while.

Food was ok. I waited 27 minutes for a chicken salad sandwich that ended up being very small. Good selection and good food. Long wait and overpriced menu items.
