Okay, heres the deal. With all due respect to the other reviewers, saying that Eugenios is the best gelato in Saratoga is like saying that Im the best looking guy in my hotel room (needless to say, no other guys here). Let me put this into perspective. They run a clean but dark little shop with a handful of gelato flavors (did someone mention they have an overwhelming selection? uh, no. Just no. A few. Easily handled.) Second, are they expensive? Sure. Who isnt? No complaints there, really. Third, is the gelato mouth-wateringly wonderful and fantastic? Uh, another no there. Its ice cream. I may not have the most sophisticated palate but Ive had enough ice cream to know when Im tasting something extraordinary. Ive got the distinct feeling that if I went a block over to Ben and Jerrys and got the Super-Fudge Chunk and threw it in front of the reviewers here, they tout B&Js as the most extraordinary eclectic dessert theyve tasted this side of the Atlantic. Fourth and finally, lets talk cups. My family and I had ordered a number of cups of gelato and some of their other desserts. Wed even come back for more after realizing our party had grown. Then, I made the mistake of returning to ask for an extra cup so we could transfer part of one cup of gelato into another for a child. What did I hear? "Oh, sorry, the cups are imported from Italy so Ill have to charge you." Word of advice. Import the cups from New Jersey. Import them from Costco or Sams Club locally. Slap something Italian and sexy on the side so people think theyre from Italy and bravissimo! The illusion of Italy! But to import those silly little nondescript plastic junky cups from Italy and tell your customers theyll have to pay for them, its just ridiculous and clearly the mark of a business that doesnt understand that its only raison detre is to serve those who walk into its establishment. So, to sum up, if youve never had gelato, try this place. If you have, go to Ben and Jerry (in the interest of full disclosure, I have no interest, financial or otherwise, in B&J). If youre still gelato-motivated, then a big word of advice: bring your own cups.

As a lover of ice cream, Saratoga Gelato is some of the best Ive had. Very happy with the price for the amount of gelato you get. The flavors are amazing and refreshing. Highly recommend!!
