Huge downgrade from Diamonds. Food is decent, but understand that "shareable" really means "small" items. A pasta dish here is roughly half the size of a similar item at a good Italian restaurant, and its made worse by the fact that all items are a la carte. This restaurant partakes in that new fad of restaurants offering small plates under the guise of being "shareable" or "family style" items. Just how shareable are they? One very hungry person could easily eat three or perhaps more items, which means that there wont be anything left to share. It also means that this place can get really expensive really fast. When I (or anyone else reasonable) think of family style, I think of large portions that can be passed around a table. In this style place, one at table of four might get a couple of fork fulls of an item. If you want to serve small plates or tapas, you should call it that, because items are certainly NOT shareable. Additionally, there are no soups or normal salads. What kind of Italian restaurant doesnt have soups or non entree salads? Not one that deserves repeat business. Bread sticks are harder than "cigar" pretzels.

I had never been so disappointed in a meal in my life. Took my fiance out, she ordered noodles with butter and I ordered chicken Parmesan and a salad. The salad had so much vinaigrette dressing on you couldnt taste anything but vinegar, and my chicken was rubbery and tasted microwaved. Then the bill came. I paid nearly $40 for noodles and a piece of chicken!! What a crock. When I order a meal I expect there to be more than just a small rubbery piece of chicken on my plate. The place had no air, waitresses were pouring sweat, probably into the food, and the place was so crowded, tables on top of one another. You felt like you were in your neighbors conversation, not to mention the waiters rear in our faces as he took the order of the table next to us. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. Worst experience of our lives.

We went on a Friday night with friends to check out Cellos for the first time. While the front of the house and product coming out of the kitchen was wonderful we will not be going back. The concept of an Italian Tapas is rediculus . We were told we would order for the table implying "family style" however the portions are so small there was no way our party could share and leave satisfied. For example one piece of chicken breast split among 4 people just doesnt work. After spending over 100 dollars on food alone we left hungry and needing to stop and get a pizza on the way home . Never again will we go to Cello unless they change their concept and serve complete meals or truly shareable dishes for a reasonable price . Very sorry to write this I was so looking forward to a great Italian restaurant in Howell.

Like others, our experience was less than good. VERY small portions shared by a group of us. We all left hungry after spending around $200.00. We got T-Bell on the way home. Will never go back. Im disappointed because I really love Diamonds and was hoping this would be another awesome option. Not so much. I want to edit this: My husband and I went back, and the menu has been changed. There is an option to get a full meal as opposed to it being just small plates and the pricing was adjusted (I think). Its still pricey, but now at least youre getting what you pay for. Here is a business owner who LISTENS to his customer!

First off, service can make or break a dining experience and Cello delivered. As for food, the breadsticks are great (our son could have eaten his weight in them) and I am not sure what other reviewers were talking about. The limoncello is a must try. The food concept is unique to Howell and a welcome dining experience. The shareable concept is certainly different than traditional oversized entree offerings at Italian chain restaurants, however, if you are looking for good food, good service, and a welcoming environment, you cant go wrong at Cello.

We almost didnt stop here because it had less than 4 stars...but I wanted to sit outside and my wife had been wanting Italian, so we went for it. I have no idea why they dont have more stars. We love to share plates so their small plates were awesome for us. The carbonara was the best Ive ever had. The chicken limoncello was perfect. Shredded brussel sprout salad was light and had a great dressing. We both agreed we will actually make the 30 min drive to eat there again.

Very courteous and attentive staff. Food is awesome, cant beat the fresh made pasta. Every dish that came out was fresh, hot, and delicious. Read many reviews about the portion sizes being too small and not shareable. I dont think the small portions were meant to be shared among 4 or more people. Our party of 4 ate until we were full, had adequate portions of everything we ordered, and took food home. Will definitely return.

My boyfriend and I dined in tonight, Christine was our server. It was wonderful. The food was delicious. We loved the concept of sharing all our dishes and everything was just so great. Christine was super helpful in explaining how the menu worked and in giving suggestions. The wine selection was amazing as well. The only thing Im sad about- not trying the limoncello. Guess Ill just have to go back!

Went for the first time for our anniversary, the service was amazing and the food was great. I think the people who complain about the portion size are expecting Olive Garden or something, because we left stuffed with an appetizer, two Primis, and a Secondi, plus a free dessert when they found out we were celebrating. Absolutely amazing and we cant wait to go back!

Love what they have done here. Fresh house made pasta and top notch service. They have increased portion size option, but not overkill. Small plates have let us try thing we would not have tried before and end up love it! The carbonara and ala vodka are unreal!

The food is good, but very expensive for the portion size. The wait staff suggested we try multiple items and share. The restaurant seating is a little awkward, as we were seated by the window to the kitchen, so there was a lot of traffic of servers and loud.

Its not entirely clear, but this is a small plated concept. Food comes as it is ready. New place, still finding its feet. Staff is friendly, food is good, but pricey for the portions, quality, and atmosphere of the restaurant.

The service was all that con be expected. A little different style of eating, small plate. The food quality in excellent. Do not miss the Crem Brulee. They earned the five stars.

Very expensive for meager portions. If you want Italian, visit Tomato Brothers. If you want excellent food and a great atmosphere, visit Brighton Bar and Grill.

interesting menu - could have a few offerings that are lighter. Majority of dishes were a little heavy, lots of cream sauces. Great service.
