Just had lunch @ Samaria for the very first time. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich w/ fries (to go). I had to wait a bit, but was told my sandwich was freshly made, so I didnt mind the wait. Besides, it was later in the afternoon and seemed slow, so there was a server and a Downtown Tour Guide (one of the guys in the yellow shirts we all see downtown) having a discussion that kept me entertained. Not one or 2, but 3 staff members said good-bye and have a nice day, as I was leaving. A little courtesy goes a long way :-) NOW, on to the food...the only bad thing about the sandwich was that I ate it so fast, it was gone too quick. It was perfectly seasoned grilled chicken on a Kaiser bun. The side of fries are not your average fries, theyre seasoned and almost breaded textured. Delicious. I am definitely going back. The meal was about $2-3 overpriced (in my opinion), but I think all the food downtown is a little overpriced. I was satisfied and it is worth it to go back again. I was VERY surprised by some of the reviews I just read because it was absolutely not a negative experience. And, if you look at my reviews for other businesses, youll see it is rare that I write and brag about good service. My experience was so good, that I just had to leave a 5-star review. Thanks, Samaria Café.

Went with wife and daughter 3/19/17 and we ordered benedict florentine, eggs over, and pancakes. Waited 40 minutes and they brought out eggs benedict to me (not florentine) with the wrong side and told us to wait while the other 2 dishes were made. Waited a few more minutes and the other two dishes never came. I asked for a check to pay for our drinks. They didnt charge us and we just left. Mens bathroom was out of order and filthy, but womans bathroom (which I used with permission) was quite nice! There was ketchup on the painting next to our table. The electric outlet next to our table ( about a foot above table on wall under painting) had a dry wall cut out larger than the wall plate and you could see through the wall. Place looked like it may have been nice at one time but is sloppy and worn now. Im sure the food is good, but 40 minutes for eggs and pancakes is a bit much. Our waitress was nice and understanding. I love to eat out but meals should come in a reasonable time and they should come out hot, correct and all at once. BTW, the restaurant was not that busy. When we got to our table there were several large parties that already had food and many open tables. I saw the reviews and I was hoping for the same, but they did not deliver food or service for me.

Stopped by today while in Tampa. Seen excellent reviews for the place so was very excited. We arrived at 2:45 pm. We were instantly greeted by the owner. He was very friendly and welcoming. We were given a booth and sat down to order. Our booth had some food on the floor. Not a huge problem. We simply changed seats. After ordering, the older waitress constantly returned to our table asking how our food was and asking if we needed assistance. This occurred at least 10 times within a 20 minute time frame. Our food wasnt bad, but was not what I expected at all. As we went to pay, the older woman gave us our ticket. I paid and left no tip purposely. The woman then looked at the receipt and noticed the no tip. She then asked ,"Oh is the tip on the table?" Our young waitress was not bad. Though I did not think she was deserving of a tip. I was just shocked that she had the nerve to ask us for a tip after she had constantly annoyed us at our table. We finished eating around 3:45 pm. The cafe closes at 4 pm. We ate somewhat fast trying not to keep them despite their many hints that the woman kept dropping in order to get us to hurry and leave. Wouldnt recommend this place if you are looking for a friendly environment

My fiance and I chose this place for breakfast on a Sunday, over First Watch right next door. It was probably the worst mistake I ever made. I ordered a SIMPLE bacon and cheese omelet. The food took forever to come out, and my omelet was loaded with everything besides bacon and cheese and was completely wrong. I sent the order back just to have it take another half hour and I get a dry omelet with about a pound of bacon and no cheese. To top it off the toast they originally had given me right, came back also wrong with the new meal! It was absolutely disgusting and when I complained to the manager she said she would take care of it. After the second time I complained I was fed up and tired of waiting so just asked our server to have her manager comp my meal since it was disgusting. The manager REFUSED to do so and finally after arguing with her she agreed to comp me "30%" of my meal, which was only $1. I spent 6 bucks on hash browns since I never even touched the omelet. I told the manager this was my first and last time coming here and she replies with "thats absolutely fine". Horrible service, and no accountability for their mistakes. beware!

This food is terrible. When both my friend and I were unable to eat any of it, we offered to just pay for half of it as a courtesy, and then we would leave and go elsewhere for food (it was THAT bad - I literally gagged at the first bite). The owner stormed over and started verbally berating us, yelling that we "dont know good food" and that we "must be too broke to pay for it" etc (everyone in the place was staring in disbelief at the scene she made). She refused to let us pay anything but full price even though it was CLEAR we couldnt stomach the food as we really hadnt touched it at all. We ended up only paying the half we originally said we would, and tipped our poor, super embarrassed waitress really well. As we walked out, the owner screamed that we "better had tipped" and we "better never come back." My friend and I, who are both highly educated and very successful, were extremely polite the whole time and tried to handle it as best we could. Its hands-down one of the most shocking things that has ever happened to me. The owner needs mental help.

This place was okay at best. We first went in and it was a bit empty, which was strange, since it was a Saturday morning. We got seated quickly and costumer service was fast, which was expected because it was empty. I ordered eggs Benedict, and when it was delivered, it looked promising. Although, when i tasted it, it did not taste like hollandaise sauce at all. It tasted more like mayonnaise and mustard blended with raw egg yolks, which later gave the two of us very bad stomach problems. My girlfriends bacon egg and cheese sandwich was also only mediocre. It was under seasoned and bland. Then, on my way to the bathroom, a roach scurried by my feet! I informed my waitress, which informed another employee, who proceeded to kill and flush the bug down the toilet. Although, He did not clean up after the bug, leaving gross roach juice on the floor. Ew! My bill was not adjusted. We will not be dining here again.
