I really should knock this down to three stars because its declined quite a bit. What keeps it at a steady 4 star is that its good to know that a restaurant that feels often line a Fridays or Applebees, isnt because they serve only things sources in Michigan. When they first opened you couldnt go wrong. Fantastic service, killer food, amazing beer selection and weird and slightly disturbing pictures of Roosters everywhere. Since our favorite server left Ive noticed that each time we go the service is less and less and so is the food. The fish tacos are still incredible, but I ordered the Fish and Chips which are always good and battered in a Founders Pale Ale batter and received the fish Bits that should have gone in fish tacos. Over salted and tiny meaning I had more batter than fish. They have a Kobe steak which anyone who eats or looks for good steak knows a Michigan only restaurant doesnt have real Kobe. All that aside do yourself a favor, go before 6 and get in on the happy hour deals. Its a good thing. The Southwest Nachos which are not Nachos at all are seriously worth eating. They are Waffle fries topped with the house queso, chicken, Pico de Gallo and fresh jalapeños. With your entre get a side of Mac and cheese that will make your happy little heart sing. The rest, take for what it is. Youll find a few more gems like the Dr. Pepper pork Lollipops and the ribs, but lets face it. Its turned into a hopped up chain restaurant.

Had a reservation the other day for a large group of us. We were seated as we arrived, after sitting at the table for 30 mins our drink orders were taken, 20 mins after that we finally received our drinks and most of them were wrong. By this time we have been there for 45 mins when they finally decided to take our order. Another 45 mins after requesting to speak with the manager we started to receive our food, 3 people had there food burnt to a crisp, 2 of my 4 kids never even received their meals, my meal along with the rest of my family that got their food was so cold we couldnt eat it. We had sent the steaks back to the kitchen that were burnt (we NEVER send food back) and while speaking with the manager we watched 2 of the cooks in the kitchen proceed to eat the steaks we sent back while licking their fingers and continuing to cook other diners meals. I ended up having to pack up and leave before things were fully resolved because my 1 yr old and 4 yr old (who never got a meal) were crying because they were soo hungry. The reasoning behind the servers not attending to us (according to them) was that they had other large groups at that time…."What…are you kidding me?" Needless to say we will NEVER be dining there again. We even had to talk to the manager about removing the meals that we never even received from our bill. Please keep in mind this is summed up and there were other issues as well.

The best local casual dining in Belleville. The Roo, as my friends and family call it, is part of a restaurant group but doesnt feel like a chain. The craft beer selection is excellent for any restaurant, with a consistently good draft list that changes from time to time. The bottle selection also runs the gamut. Daily weekday specials stand out more than your average happy hour specials, though the price of a happy hour draft is a welcome break! The manager is friendly and step about to genuinely chat, not just curtly ask "how is everything". The staff is friendly, well trained, and just the right balance of informal and unobtrusive. All that and the food is great. With a smattering of seafood options for those so inclined, my only menu quibble is that the appetizer list is a little short on land critters. But the entree and sandwich lists make up for it. Full sized salads make a great meal with lots of fresh Michigan ingredients. Sandwiches come crisp and hot and with interesting twists, like a French Dip sandwich with horseradish and onion straws, or the sweet and spicy reuben with cabbage and noodle slaw. The dinners are the most expensive end of the menu, but both the Zip Chick and the Soda Pop Pork Lollipops are worth the hike. Personally I avoid the ribs, as they are fried then baked.. which is two ways I dont think of making ribs. The Roo is worth stopping in!

This is a good pub-style restaurant in Belleville. I have visited three times and have been happy enough with each visit. The location not far from I-94 is convenient as it makes an easy stop for me either on the way to or from the Airport. The food is very good. On our last visit, my wife had the Crispy Chicken Salad and I had the Thai Chicken Salad. Both were quite tasty. The service has been more than acceptable each time weve been in. Austin was our server on this last occasion and did a commendable job. The atmosphere has always been enjoyable and I appreciate being able to keep track of the games on the overhead TVs, both in the bar area and in the dining area. The prices are decent as we got out of there for $13.50 per person including food, tax and tip (we both had freebies - water and soda water - to drink). I would not hesitate to recommend this place for anyone who might be in the area.

My family and I, 19 of us, had a reservation for a birthday party there yesterday. The service was beyond horrible! 30 minutes after we were at our table, they took my drink order. 25 minutes later I got my drink and placed my order. 45 minutes later we got our food, well, most of us did. 2 entrees never did come, the third came out as we were all leaving, and those of us that did get our meals were disappointed. It was either, dry, overcooked, charred, or cold. We called the manager to our table twice, nothing was comped, but after talking to the manager, was discounted, had to ask to have the "never served" meals taken off the bill, and I didnt even get my bill until after the rest our party was already gone! Weve been, as a family, on several occasions, without issue, but after yesterday, Im sure we wont be back. It was a 2 1/2 hour unpleasant dining experience.

A coworker recommend this place for us at work so we ordered a carry out. Picked up the order and it was packed so bad it spilled everywhere that was #1 issue, #2 we were missing a whole meal, #3 3 meals were made wrong and #4 got the cheese dip and no chips. Noticed no chips first and called, The lady said sorry and didnt try to resolve the issue. Realized all the rest of the mess ups and called back. Got a really nice man on the phone who said he would have everything remade for pick up so we did. He definitely took care of the issue so thank you. The reason Im rating low even though he resolved the issue is the food taste was bland with no flavor, pretty price for ok food and ok portions. First impressions are key and since this was my first experience and it was not good I will never try again.
