Service not so good!!1st time here..waiter comes to table gives water and takes order, I ordered soup and naan, got soup naan came with meal, drinks were empty kept seeing our waiter in the distance filing water pictures, had our cups on the edge of table, finally asked waiter going by to ask our waiter for refills, he brought them to us, our waiter walked by and said nothing...soup was not what I expected and I hate cilantro had a big dollop right on top ruined it for me. Meal came, was given one plate of rice to share, was never asked if we liked food our not out if we needed anything else! At end of meal same waiter who brought out drinks asked if we needed more rice and how food was, the rice dish had been sitting there empty for do long we were done with our meals.I told him I was displeased with out waiter never checking back on us, he told me they all wait the tables, why didn't he tell me this when he brought our pops?! Food was ok, we love hot food but my husbands meal was impailing heat !! Not to mention it was freezing in there and even the water tasted funky..

My fiance and I are passionate about well-spiced Indian food thats full of flavor (Indian food should not be bland!), and we absolutely loved the lunch buffet at Taste of India. All of the food was very flavorful, and heat-wise most of it was medium (not mild). Some dishes even bordered on medium-hot. (When we order from a menu, we order our dishes hot, so we like heat.) I was impressed by the flavor combinations in each dish. Every dish on the buffet was delicious, and there were a few dishes that we had never seen at an Indian restaurant before, along with some of the usual favorites. The chutneys were wonderful. The chicken in the dishes was so moist and tender - never dry. Chai was also included in the buffet, and that was a nice treat. We highly recommend this restaurant. The food is so good that I made it a point to write this review about it. You will not regret having this lunch buffet. We wished we could have taken this restaurant home with us, and we will definitely go back whenever we visit Ann Arbor.

I have eaten lunch at the buffet twice now. I love Indian food and have eaten at all the restaurants in Ann Arbor and many throughout southeast Michigan. This place is the best Ive had. I particularly like southern Indian cuisine and besides Madras Marsala, all the others are northern cuisine. Suvai has a great variety of vegetarian dishes and they were quite different. The proprietor told me they have 130 different dishes, so I shouldnt get bored. These include many meat dishes, of which I sampled a few. They were also good, but not as unique as the veggie food. The desserts were the only weak part of the meal. The fresh, crispy dosas were the highlight.

This restaurant is by far the worst Indian restaurant I ever went to. They call themselves south Indian restaurant and I have never met a south Indian who cant make Dosa. Everything was tasteless. Who makes dosa without a drop of oil. Dosa was dry and burned. The vegetable Biriyani was cold and again dry, with no oil, no moisture of any kind. It was cold, dry rice and on top of it , they added a lot of red pepper because we wanted it to be spicy. Spicy doesnt mean only too much of red pepper. We also ordered Chicken Biriyani and it was the same dry cold rice. All in all, it was the worst indian food we ever ate and of course we dont intend to eat there again.

The servers were disgustingly rude. First, it took them literally ten minutes till they noticed my presence in their shop. When I asked for no chili powder in the Butter Chicken Curry because I as allergic the waiter scoffed at me and refused to listen, making the curry mild instead. And, I also ordered some Mango Lassi which they completely forgot about and gave to me after I completed my meal. It also took them about ten minutes after I told them I wanted the check to get it to me and they charged me for six mango lassi when I had ordered just one. Although the food was decent, I dont recommend going here unless you are prepared to battle for your meal.

There are much better Indian food places in the area. If you are familiar with good Indian food go somewhere else. The naan was not very good. The aloo ghobi was in a bowl of grease. I am not Indian (but a solid cook) and I make much better homemade chicken tikka masala. And the price is consistent with most Indian food places at $10-15 per dish (not necessarily cheap). The place doesnt have any redeeming qualities. I absolutely recommend trying a different place. I think Guarav Singhs review below epitomizes what this place lacks. Quality and authenticity.

Worst Indin restaurant ever been in US. You ask for Dal Makhani and they serve you Rajma. And i called 2 waiters and they said it is Makhani Dal and then to top it all, Manager also comes and says it is Makhani Dal. Navratan korma was ok, but when we orderd it the second time, it was potataoes in it. Looks like they were running out of things and making on the fly. Rice was 2 varities mixed together,... NEVER will visit them again

Dont know much about the authenticity of the food. And I Did not order à la carte. We went there for the lunch buffet. For the price ($12), it is a really good Indian lunch buffet (they have a 10% discount for students as well). They have a variety of vegetarian dishes and a bunch of standard meat/chicken dishes. They had a carrot halva which was pretty good, no kheer though.

Best Indian food in Ann Arbor hands down! we have tried many dishes there plus customer service is good. They are friendly to people with kids which is good too. We went for the buffet plus we have ordered many dishes vegetarian and non vegetarian off the menu and have so far loved all we had ordered. good food and friendly service brings us back.

To be clear, food isnt bad but definitely not for Indians. It wasnt made well, taste was just passable and Thali was a complete let down and waste of money . We only sat through the dinner since we were very hungry. Staff wasnt interested in attending, we were a big party and had to be seated at the very back of the restaurant. Will never go back.

This place finally sold my husband on Indian Food. Taste of Indias food is fantastic & decently priced. However, the staff always seems bothered & rushed & seem to always make themselves scarce. I live in Ypsi so carry-out wouldnt really work, so were stuck dining in if we want to eat here.

While we were visiting University of Michigan, we went here for the lunch buffet. Very nice, tasty food. Especially the vada, Idly, pongal and saamabar were very yummy. The entire family loved it. This place was really busy too...of course.. Nice place, highly recommend it.
