The Good: Outstanding food and one of the only places in the area that makes Chicken 65 really well. the buffet doesnt skimp on quality for the price. The Bad: Theyre in Ann Arbor right on campus. It changed its name and Im assuming owners with virtually zero renovations. The place still looks like its from the 70s and I dont mean it in a good way. Everything is super outdated, plastic flowers, uncomfortable chairs, super old carpet, leaky ceiling and the place could use a thorough cleaning/repainting. For being a very busy restaurant in Ann Arbor they should be able to afford to update the place a little bit. Service could be worked on, some of the staff are a little quiet and introverted. Maybe stop hiring "boaters" and hire people with real waiting experience. Speak up and work on customer service. Theres no reason a restaurant that has steady business should look they way that it does.

I was there for the Monday buffet special. With a student discount, there isnt much to complain about for the price. The food was acceptable, and the buffet had enough options to satisfy a hungry appetite. However, we were put at a table in a small area with two other tables full of screaming children. I understand the annoying children are outside of the restaurants control, but the choice to sit us by them when most of the restaurant was empty is inexcusable. Our entire meal was to the tune of obnoxious crying and wailing babies with children darting everywhere. If the food had not been so cheap, this review would have been a 1 or 2 star.

The food was good but the service was awful. The roof was leaking and the water fell into my friends curry and the waiter just shrugged it off and didnt even give her a new dish!! We saw him refill the leftover water from one table to another. Not just that, but he also completely ignored us the entire time we were there!! We actually had to go up to them to place our order, and pay for it. They messed up our order and brought us the wrong things!!!

Today (July 31, 2015) went for lunch with my wife and son. All of us honestly felt disgusted with both food taste and cleanness of this place. I dont think there is any place in Ann Arbor which is worst than Suvai Palace at the moment. I mentioned this to the staff - his point of view was " we were getting only 20-30 people everyday for lunch before but now we are very busy and getting 70-80 people so the food is good. Great response!

Really wonderful food and atmosphere. The creamy spinach dish with large chunks of cheese (name is escaping me at the moment) is incredible! And the samosas, of course, so good. The waiter we had was extremely friendly and helpful and prompt...but not too prompt! The atmosphere is very eclectic, like you feel like youre in some unique land - with lots of mirrors! - and temporarily transported out of Ann Arbor.

Delicious food, and a great lunch buffet. Its in an old house, which gives it a kitschy, rough around the edges feel. May not be the atmosphere for everybody. The food at dinner on a Saturday night certainly came out very quickly, but the staff can be a little slow, awkward, under attentive. Definitely worth a try though, and the price is right compared to most AA eats!

Ordered a delivery. I didnt like the food at all..they used too much food color. Dosa looked like a pan cake and was burnt. Chicken biryani was totally awful, rice was almost pureed and tasteless. I will not order from this restaurant again. Raita and Sambar were good.

Wonderful buffet today! Much variety (2 very different soups, at least 5 different chicken dishes, lamb, plus many vegetarian dishes, beverages, etc) each with delicious and distinctive spice combinations. We will definitely make this a future destination.

I know I like the food but even then, I wouldnt write this review had I not had the experience just now. I ordered off of GrubHub and the delivery man despite our language barrier was very kind and patient. Ill be likely to order from here again

South Indian style restaurant, I had the buffet which was with a low spice level. Good mox of veg and non-veg options. Great staff and nice ambiance. Value for money. Only drawback i felt was the dosa want well made.

This Indian Restaurant serves very delicious and reasonably priced food. Rice comes with most meals and is not needed to order separately. The restaurant is in a house. So, the layout is very interesting.

Acceptable. Food and service are under par. Despite the name changes and whatever else accompanied it, quality and taste is as forgettable as when I first had visited this location 17 years ago.

Lovely, relaxed buffet lunch offers a fixed price to sample a great range of traditional Indian dishes, plenty of vegetarian options, and friendly staff. A la cart also available for dinner.

I always feel welcome when I go to Suvai palace. I love their broad selection of tasty Indian food for their buffet especially on weekends (their goat and lamb dishes are my favorite).

Their food is great/tasty and reasonably priced. Its usually best to come in during the beginning of the week. The service could be a little better, but it all depends on who you get.

If you are not looking for ambience but just the taste of the food then this is the right place. The food was so delicious either it be a veg or non-veg! I liked it so much!

Service could be a bit better but the food is great! Especially make it there on a Monday night for the buffet. Walking out spending less than $10 is amazing in Ann Arbor.

Love the lunch buffet here. Always a good range of dishes from mild to very spicy and across types of food. Reasonably prices, especially for as much food as you can have.

Delicious variety of offerings in the buffet. Not a hot head but surprised at relative mild spice level throughout, though several chutneys/hot sauces also avail

$11 dinner buffet on Monday nights was great. Not too salty and was fresh tasting with free mango juice. Got crowded fast. I recommend coming right at 5 or so.

Good place for Indian food. Had Palau panir & panir Tikka Masala & veggie samosas. All very good. Tamarind chutney was very watery.

Pretty good offering and portion sizes. The restaurant itself is pretty typical, but the food is above average. Lots of seating.

Lunch buffet 12$+ per person- paying cash. Decent food options, but OLD Raja Rani was better. Seems unreasonably expensive
