As a student at the University of Michigan, I was excited for the chance to try some Indian food that reminded me of the home cooked meals that I got at home. However, Hut-K Chaats was not that place. Living in New Jersey my entire life I had access to a multitude of options both at restaurants and at home. Further, on several vacations I had the chance to try authentic chaat in India as well. As a person who has experience with quality Indian chaat, I can say that this meal was far from authentic or tasty. The food featured ingredients never used in true Chaats, and seemed to be made by a person who had never seen or tried real Indian food before in their lives. I did not enjoy it at all, and would advise others to stay away from this place if they are going with an expectation of authenticity or quality.

There is absolutely no restaurant quite like Hut-K. Found this place years ago when I was a student in Ann Arbor, and its the only place I make sure to stop by every time Im in town. Swaroop is a great man, and he runs this place with the utmost care and profession. Ive been vegetarian my whole life, and as far as Im concerned this place is the best in southeastern Michigan. And yes, Ive been to Seva! No disrespect to them of course...but Hut-K has earned my undying loyalty. Try the paneer tika wrap and submit yourself to the "Nutrilicious" way of life.

The owner is a really nice guy who used his cancer research background to make Indian dishes that are extremely healthy but did not compromise flavor. I had the Katies Surprise which was a rice dish that contained a variety of nuts and whole grains and tomato as well as chutney on the side. I was left feeling full without feeling sick. For dessert, I had a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a scoop of caramel ice cream. The ice creams have no high fructose corn syrup and are also very tasty. I am definitely coming back to this place several times!

A passionate cook who strives to make healthy Indian chaat (Indian savory snacks). We tried the Paani Puri, Ancient Grains Original flatbread and sapodilla (Sapota/Chiku) milk shake. The milk shake was not for sale but chef Swaroop offered us a cup to taste. Everything tasted very good although we felt the portion sizes were quite a bit smaller than the price would make you think but I guess thats what you pay for eating healthy.

This place its not typical Indian cuisine - their focus is healthy eating. There is Vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. They actually research all of the ingredients they use to prepare your meal. Their wraps are not just wheat tortillas, they are made from sprouted grains. So are their buns. They use some dairy products. There are are several Chaats on the menu, C7 is very good.

This place is excellent all around. The owner has a great personality and he is a food scientist, which really makes you feel assured your eating healthy food. Everything we got tasted amazing, the chaat, the soup, the sandwich were all delicious. Also they have the best mango lassi I have ever had anywhere, no joke. And the ice cream is amazing as well (try the pistachio)

We went there with high expectation. We tried the shanu chaat . It was cold and devoid of any flavor. It was just few chick peas and potatoes under cooked, without any taste. Chaat is usually so mouth-watering, but this was not chaat at all. Very disapoointed. I will put my money on Gift of India rather than this anyday.

Love this place...Their pizza is the best. As far as I am concerned it beats Dominos!!!! Their Power of 7 smoothie is excellent and so healthy. Love also their mango lassie. The help is very helpful explaining the food. My husband and I do miss Ken, one of the helpers. Wish him luck in finishing his education.

Ive been eating here for the last year and everything I have ever tried on the menu has just been delicious. I recommend the Samosa Wrap. It definitely gives you the taste of samosa without being fried. Ive also always encountered friendly service and the focus on nutrition makes me happy eating there.

I have been coming here since the restaurant opened. This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. The food is tasty, healthy and the atmosphere is wonderful. The puris are wonderful, the paneer wrap is delicious and you always want to be sure to leave room for the ice cream!

"Nutralicious" is cheesy, but its spot on. Excellent, very interesting food, but food you can feel good eating. The Dahi Sev Puri was a great appetizer, and the Shanu Chaat was an excellent main. I liked the Samosa Wrap Roll, but not as much as the others. Cant wait to go back here!

Just had lunch here. The flavors are AMAZING. Spicy, sweet, sour, and salt all in one dish. This food is so good it makes me hate my life. I strongly suggest trying the "dahi sev puri." I love spicy food, and they really hit the spot in a way that most restaurants can not.

This is the absolute best restaurant in Ann Arbor. The food is legit, the staff is awesome (the owner has a PhD in the sciences and knows all about nutrition), and its very affordable. I cant recommend Hut-K enough to anyone who likes or might like outstanding Indian food.

Interior is fine, people are friendly but food tastes weird. I know how a particular Indian dish tastes so I would not go there again. If you have never tasted authentic Indian food, then you may like it. Access is easy / convenient , ample parking.

I had a house salad and two wraps. I wish I could get food like this closer to home. I think this is the best food I have ever had. Its even better that it didnt have the oil and butter that comes with most Indian food. I will be back.

I have been coming here for a few years now. It is one of my favorite places to come to. Mango Lassi will change your life. All their meals are wholesome and healthy. Not the go to place if youre looking to stuff it with a cheeseburger.

I have never had a bad experience with the food nor the service at Hut-K Chaats! I am especially happy to say that whenever I am sick I know that I can rely on the Power of 7 shake to make me feel better! Neat-o

I really like Indian food and have visited India. Im not a chaat connoisseur though, so I dont know if these are authentic, but I really enjoy the flavors, whatever they are! My favorite is the Shanu Chaat.

Healthy vegetarian joint!! Decent chat joint. A bit on the expensive side with chats but they offer better variety than other Indian street food joints in A2.
