But ohh, the wait! Never waited less than an hour and a half. Phenomenal food. I usually get the sashimi combo with broiled mackerel for dinner. There are lots of extras (miso, salads, sides, etc) that make it super satisfying. The sashimi seemed fresh and was modest in size. (I dont like huge slabs of sashimi.) I have a hard time eating appetizers with the combo, but I have tried the onigiri and thought it was great. I also tried takoyaki and though it was good, it wasnt made the way Im accustom to, topped with takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise, which is one of my favorite ingredients.

From a medium selection of sushi / sashimi to curry to ramen and more, this small Authentic Japanese restaurant is worth the wait (tiny restaurant). If you like grilled fish, I recommend the Hokke (Atka Mackerel). For curry, I recommend the Katsu (Fried Pork) Curry is always good as well. Want something more refreshing and not afraid of raw fish? There are sashimi dishes as well as sashimi rice bowls. I like the Avo-Salmon Donburi. I will say that I personally do not care for the ramen here, but to each their own.

Quite good. Ive lived in the area for decades and have never been in this shopping center, but apparently I was not in the know. It was lunchtime on a Sunday and the place was packed. Standing room only with people waiting out the door. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. I was there on a date so I didnt get much of a look around. Overall, the place is worth going to again, but cant say the same with the date.

Much more authentic that what youll get a hibachi style restaurant, dishes like ramen and tonkatsu are excellent. Curry has been nice as well, and omu-rice, while a strange flavor, is very good. Just make sure you arrive early if you are coming for lunch as their dining room is very small, and dishes take some time to prepare, so its no good for a quick fill-up, but great if you have an hour to sit down and eat.

Temari is owned and run by Japanese people and offers awesome ramen. I had their curry rice and it was great. The restaurant even puts a disclaimer that the curry rice is different from Thai or Indian curry for those who are unfamiliar with the Japanese-style. It is small inside, so its best for groups of 4 or less. They sometimes will not seat you until your party is there and strollers are not allowed inside.

1. Service - Quick, friendly, & attentive. 2. Taste of food and quality of food - Best cafe/home-style Japanese place around the DMV area. Portion size was just enough & not too salty. I recommend the katsu curry & tori no kare age (Japanese fried chicken). 3. Ambiance/decor - Love the cozy Japanese cafe feel/decor to it. Not too noisy when busy. 4. Cleanliness - Looked & felt clean throughout.

Having lived in Japan for a couple years, I can attest to the authenticity of the food here. Most "Japanese" restaurants are owned and operated by individuals who have never stepped foot in the country, let alone tasted the food. The owners and many servers at Temari were born in Japan, and not only do they bring that to the table, but they are GOOD at cooking!!

If youre tired of the Chinese/Japanese joints that cater to American tastes in the 270 corridor, I would highly suggest Temari Cafe. Its a small place, not really a restaurant environment and its a little pricey, but if youre searching for authenticity this is one of the best places around.

eat a snack before you arrive, because this small restaurant is always packed with a long line of customers. the service staff are thoughtful and attentive, and the beef curry is excellent. i love to order an ume onigiri to go after the meal, as a perfect savory breakfast treat the next morning.

We were visiting the area and needed a sushi fix. This is not the place. Probably authentic Japanese food, but not for sushi. Rice was mushy, and fish wasnt fresh. Prices are way too high as well. Almost $7 for a California roll?! Maybe well try the ramen next time... If theres a next time.

As close as I can get to Cocos in Japan (for those of you that know what Im talking about). The curry is delicious, although no spice level, the Ramen is very delicious and the people here are really friendly. Its not loud, everyone keeps their noise level down to table volume.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the DC area. I have to get the Katsu curry rice each time I come here. The takoyaki is solid, and I like some of the drinks of the drink menu like the cream soda! Have heard good things about the ramen and the sushi combos they do.

Everything was just OK. The ramen wasnt very flavorful, fatty tuna roll was good, my boyfriends avocado salmon rice bowl was mediocre. Best part of the evening was the adorable, hobbly old man that directed us to the table.

Small place, always need to wait. Food is good. You can find lots of different Japanese dishes that other restaurants dont provide. They dont have enough waiters, service is always wait wait wait.

Delicious Japanese comfort food, consistent quality any time you visit. Small popular restaurant, prepare to wait during popular lunch/dinner hours, otherwise visit before or after popular hours.

Highly recommended for delicious authentic Japanese food. You cant go wrong with the ramen here and the sushi and sashimi are very fresh. Easily the best Japanese place in the area.

Quiet tasty cafe especially for those looking for more than sushi & sashimi. While they have those, there are so many more authentic dishes to enjoy.

Recent discovery near work - Ive yet to be disappointed by their flavorful ramen options. A lot of variety, and fairly good value. Worth a stop.

Terrible service. It is my girlfriends birthday. We bring a birthday cake, but they did not allow us to eat. Obstinate inhuman Japanese people.

~$17 for toro and they give us 4 out of 6 pieces that were chewey. When asked about the last two pieces uneaten, they gave us two legit cuts
