The first hint of things to come is the menu..its entirely in English, not even the Japanese names written in English are on there, thats seldom a good sign. The second hint of things to come is the tea. Its obvious they dont use filtered water, nor know how to correctly steep the tea. The flavor is just plain bad. The third hint of things to come is the salad. Some of the lettuce chunks are just huge but the worst part of the salad is the dressing. The dressing is just miserable - the worst salad dressing Ive had in a Japanese restaurant - the dressing was so watered down by the bottom of the bowl, I was thinking that perhaps they forgot to dry the lettuce. Also, the miso paste they used definitely seemed old. I didnt try the tempura, however it "looked" good, so I cannot comment on it. I ordered their 2nd largest sushi platter to get a taste for everything, and it was highly uninspired. The nigiri was the wrong temperature, and the fish itself was not delicious. The maguros texture indicated that it was out far too long (perhaps my punishment for coming at 8pm), same with the ika. The unagi was OK, but its pretty hard to mess up unagi. The maki was substandard as well. The only "on par" thing was the "California Roll" which was the only thing that was "about right," likely because thats all a lot of people in this area are used to getting. The avocado was ripe and tasty. One of my favorite things to order is uni, however the quality of the uni is highly important (more important than most other sushi dishes), and I was thoroughly scared and opted not to order it (for marvelous uni, go to Tsukiji fish market). The highlight of the meal was the banana tempura dessert, which was actually pretty good. Unfortunately dessert and maybe the California roll are the only things I can recommend from this restaurant. Perhaps this place is OK if you dont know about good sushi. Having lived in Japan and Hawaii for a good amount of time, I think that I do. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Decided to try try this place out for the first time since another Japanese restaurant was closed from 3-5 pm. The rolls were super delicious and affordable everything tasted really fresh! The staff are the friendliest Ive ever met. The inside is designed really nice with an open view of the sushi making station and kitchen. This will definitely be a regular spot for me from now on!

Ive been to a LOT of sushi restaurants, and this one is definitely the best one by far. The fish always taste fresh, the rolls are all delicious, and the food is presented in an appealing light. Helps that the service is great too! Not over-priced and you never have to wait too long in spite of the fact that the place is a bit small.

Been to this place many times for ten years already, it was good until yesterday September 4. The sushi rice is inferior kind; broken and not the premium kind. They have not seasoned with rice wine vinegar. Fish is still fresh though. I ordered sushi de luxe. I hope the management will use premium seasoned sushi rice.

Honestly, I didnt think the food is too memorable but the vibe here is great! Located underground..watch your step down the flight of stairs. Great place to go to since it opens until late at night but expect long wait times. Often times at night theyll have a live dj here too which is a plus!

We have found the service and food quality to be consistently tops over 20 years of going almost once a week for sushi and tempura. We cant recall ever having a bad or even mediocre meal in the many many times weve dined there. For lunch, its a bargain for sushi or tempura boxes.

My Absolute favorite. Tasty, casual, cheap, delicious sushi spot. It is not the most traditional, but they have a lot of fun and put a lot of creativity into their rolls. The salmango, blue marine, and volcano are all must have rolls in my book.

Customer service from the door and beyond was great. I was going to order to go but decided to stay because they were so nice. The sushi was great and they were willing to tempura select rolls, of which I appreciated greatly! Ill be back!

Decent seafood Udon with a good amount of fresh seafood in a boiling hot bowl; sushi is well prepared with a touch too much wasabi address to the nigiri between the fish and rice. Good service and tidy atmosphere.

Wow...great experience. The sushi was delicious and the service was great. The chef really took time to make the presentation of the dish spectacular and it was clear that they take pride in what they do here.

Place had all the trappings of a really great old-style from a decade ago traditional Japanese restaurant that unfortunately did not upgrade well. Sushi was not fresh as I would have expected.

Sushi was salty. Yes salty. Chicken teriyaki was flavorless and the veggies where previously frozen and mushy. With so many great alternatives nearby I expected much better.

Mid quality Japanese food at higher range prices. There are definitely better Japanese restaurants in the area. Avoid the softshell crab tempura. Batter bomb.

Expensive for what you get. Food looks good and the staff is friendly, but the sushi tastes.. subpar. There is much better sushi for cheaper within the area.
