I write this as I continue to sit in the drivethru. I have been stuck in here for easily 15-20 minutes now and would leave but there are so many other cars that have not been served waiting as well. I am no as I write this sentence finally pulling up to the menu. I will continue to wait to post this to give an accurate description of how long I sat in this drivethru BEFORE ORDERING. I just finally placed my order after sitting at the stand waiting at the microphone for 7 minutes for someone to take my order. NOW, I will hopefully get my food soon. I am still behind someone so god know when, and my truck just began overheating because it is 113 degrees outside. The food is good but the point of a drive thru is so I can get it quick. If Im waiting 30 minutes in a drivethru just to even order, Ill just place take out at popos and go get it. Bottom line; Management, I love your food, but for Christs sake please fix this drivethru problem. This is absolutely unacceptable. Btw, I am still waiting behind the guy that was here before I even pulled in the parking lot so were passed 30 minutes of waiting in this drivethru and I still havnt gotten my food.

A friend of mine turned me on to this restaurant about 4 months ago and I really enjoyed their food. I considered myself a regular visiting about once every 1 to 2 weeks. About a month ago, I got take out ordering #4...a burrito with red sauce. When I cut into the burrito, I found out it was a beef burrito. Thinking Mixteca made a mistake, I called to complain. The person on the phone asked me to bring the burrito back down there. Thinking that was a little odd, I obliged. When I got back down there, the person at the counter asked if I was the one who called. I told her yes, that I ordered a #4. To be fair, the menu does not specify a bean burrito. It does not mention a beef burrito either. The woman told me that they did not make a mistake making my burrito. So she asked me to drive all the way back down there just to tell me she was correct!?! She topped it off by saying that she would not be replacing my burrito. What kind of service is that!?! I told her to be prepared to lose several customers over not replacing my order. I will never go to Mixteca again and I suggest you do the same.

This is a real honest review. I would never give anyone a low score on their food based on service. Though it plays a large portion of the overall experience. With that said, Im eliminating the delivery service as a factor for this two star review. The food. I ordered, nachos and a shredded beef burrito. My friend ordered albondigas and a chicken taco. Pretty simple orders. Right? Well I immediately dive into the nachos. The tortilla chips are not crunchy they were more of a plastic feel with hints of a crispy texture. The cheese was alright, although the outer layer of the cheese was hardened around the rim of the nacho bowl. And a handful of olives.. which I thought were the only enjoyable part. The burrito was like a soup wrapped in a tortilla. Like seriously? It was extremely drippy in the burrito. Probably why the brown paper bag ripped open when I pulled it out of the plastic bag. The Albondigas were a let down. Bland. And also the chicken tacos were flavorless. Wow I dont know whats going on in the kitchen but it needs a reinvention. ASAP. Wont order again. Save your money.

My sister introduced me to this place. If you are looking for some good, somewhat authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go on the Westside of town. The place is a bit small but its that nice beach restaurant kind of feel. I really like the environment. The food is really good. I was really impressed. They do have a large menu so you kind of have to know what it is that you are in the mood to eat. They have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. If you are going to go drive thru be prepared to wait a bit because they make the food fresh, but it just makes it that much better. Prices are pretty reasonable. I recommend the Albondiga Soup, rolled tacos, and the shrimp cocktail.

I have eaten here a few times and the food is good when its correct, but tonight I went through the drive through and ordered two taco meals and an extra taco. When I got home the extra taco was missing and my fiancee tacos were wrong. Reviewed the receipt and they took the order correctly. Tried to call them to rectify the situation and the number on the receipt went to a voicemail that doesnt specify if it was mixteca or not, so we will see if I get a call back. I know $20 isnt a fortune but I expect to get everything I pay for, if I wanted to be disappointed I would have gone to taco bell.

I have been going to Mixteca since it started on 43rd and McDowell in the 1990s. They have a lot of the same staff. The owners mother was always so nice and sincere, would ask about family. The food is amazing, fresh, flavorful and cooked with love. I now live in Dallas and wish there was a place like this. Everytime I visit Phoenix, I make it a tradition to visit there and have my childhood favorite plate, Bean and Cheese enchilada style Green. Yum, I will be there next week during my visit to Arizona. If you are traveling, definitely stop there, its laid back and delicious.

We usually come here about 3 times a week. The breakfast burritos are great the Mixteca omelette is awesome, and then my standard is the machaca egg bean and cheese burrito. A nice dinner option is the taco tamale and tostada plate. The chips and salsa are always perfect. They also have live music out on the large covered patio on the weekends and very reasonable prices on drinks the owner is there most days of the week and you can tell he tries hard to please his customers and takes pride in his business. We try to support locally owned businesses as much as we can.

This is a really tasty place for Mexican food and a convenient location if you live around Bell. I love the chicken enchilada plate and my fiance loves the carne asada tacos. They do an excellent job with custom orders (like absent or extra ingredients) and the salsa has just the right amount of flavor. I usually order a half pint of salsa and we coat our food in it. Prices are perfect as well. Also, if you like a good breakfast burrito, hit up Mixteca in the morning. The drive-through is pretty quick in the mornings and the machaca one is awesome.
