Ive been to this place 3 times the food is good but my third experience was horrible. I havent even tasted the food and I pray that I dont find hair or any other object in my food. The cooks did not have on gloves and they were playing around the food the entire time I waited. I was told 35 minutes and got there to wait another 35 minute. The cooks were wiping their face with hands, picking at sores, and stroking their fingers with their hair and going right back to cook food. I mentioned it to the manager and he seemed like he could careless. No gloves, no hairnets, unprofessional, and disgusting behavior to be around food. I will no longer be spending my money at this business.

My husband and I are ADDICTED to this place. No matter how far away we are from Hibachi we will call it in and drive FAR distances to get it. We crave this food day after day, it never gets OLD. My husband loves the filet, shrimp, chicken, scallops....you name it! The food is the SAME amazing quality every time we eat it. We have eaten Hibachi...easily over 100 times. If you want amazing food for a great price...eat here! I get the SAME thing everytime...the chicken with no noodles, onions or mushrooms and that is exactly what I get. And the price, WOW, its only $5.79!!!!!!! TRUST ME! Once you try it, you will go back again and again and again!

My go-to take out restaurant in Chester. Call 30 minutes ahead during peak times. The best part about it is if you eat here often enough, you can have a whole new set of to go containers from their take out! Food is greasy, but delicious. If you want healthy, go somewhere else! Sushi is technically on the menu, but there is frequently a sign on the counter saying it is not available that day. The cashiers arent the most knowledgeable and Ive been put on hold for a while. Its understandable as it seems to be the same three teenagers working the counter. BUT if you want cheap, greasy hibachi to take home, this is your place!

I went to Hibachi Ichiban thinking I might be able to enjoy some Japanese style food in Chester. It was not what I expected. I ordered the steak with soba noodles. While the steak was decent and plentiful the soba noodles were spaghetti noodles cooked with a very bland teriyaki sauce. There were also some grilled vegetables thrown in. The restaurant itself looks run down. The bathrooms are basic and a bit worn. The interior is very dark. I was one of 6 patrons in the establishment.

Food quality has drastically declined over the years. They started pre-cooking the chicken (cafeteria style) and they quit making an effort in the rice at all. No sauce and no egg or onions. When they first opened they tasted so good and now everything has gone down hill. I ended up REFRYING THE RICE AND PUTTING EGG, SOYSAUSE, AND TERIYAKI SAUSE IN IT! made it taste so much better. Please guys.....at least put egg back in the rice.......

This has got to be the worst restaurant in all of chester Virginia. They take forever to even start your order. Then they just reuse the food that has been sitting there for the past 3 hours. The restaurant itself is filthy falling apart. I got a glimpse of the back kitchen area once and omg it made me vomit in my mouth. I will never eat there again. Its a mystery why this place has not been shut down. Avoid at all cost.

A Delightful Surprise! A quaint Hibachi grill with friendly staff that serves delicious, fresh food and quality meats for an affordable price. You get quite a bit of food for the money! The place almost always busy - it should have a revolving door! Ive never seen a place so popular with take-out orders. You really should try this place out for yourself....just once.... And youll probably become a regular like me. :)

I was excited, as well as curious, about the pricing of the food. However, that alone is where the excitement ended. Tempura was dry, and had a tacky, pasty texture when you bit into it; I received maybe five baby shrimp, and a teaspoon of vegetables. My fried rice was anything but what it was supposed to be. Overall, I would have gladly paid more for better quality food at another restaurant.

Very tasty, great prices for habachi and more than enough for portion sizes. We ate there with a group of 6 during a lunch rush and we were able to get our food and eat within a reasonable timeframe (although we socialized for quite a while). We really enjoyed it and would be happy to go back again when we are in town.

I was a regular customer 10 years ago. I havent been here in a decade. It was located across the street. As soon as I walked through the the door the owner recognized me and came and asked how I was. Just an example of the kindness of this place not to forget the food is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced.

This is the BEST Japanese food around. The prices will blow you away. The same meal at Kanpai Japanese Steak House for 45 for 2 will cost you 14 bucks here. Im so glad a friend told me about it. We eat here at least 1 time a week and the food is so great. You get to much food for the price. THANKS Hibachi

Went in for dinner one night around 8pm. No one was cooking and was told I would have to wait 30-40 minutes before they started again... Along with an attitude so I will not be returning. I dont know where people come across saying half the price... Per person it is still 10-13 dollars.

Food is excellent. There is sometimes a bit of a wait while its being cooked. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere/decor is nothing special. If you want atmosphere and a show, go to a full blown restaurant. At Hibachi Ichiban, you can get the same food for half the price.

You get a lot of food for a decent price but beware they always take FOREVER! any time I call its a 40 minute wait and I immediately have to cancel my order because who wants to wait an hour to eat so I suggest you order way ahead of time if you are craving hibachi

Hibachi Ichiban is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the metro Richmond area. The prices are ridiculously affordable and the food is amazing. It may not be far from a hole in the wall but its well worth it for the price and the taste!

every time I go in here to get sushi they dont have a cook for it. So i pick something which is awesome . I just want to try the sushi. Great prices Nice clean restaurant.
