I was locked in here for 72 straight hours due to a rather funny mishap involving my dog, the KCPD and a a snow storm which completely subdued this part of the city. Despite my poor fortune, it seemed fate smiled upon me as I was locked in this exquisite restaurant! The authentic asian decor truly warmed my heart as I pleaded with my many gods for the safety of myself and my family. The food (well the raw materials I could scrounge up, anyway) danced my tastebuds and brought cheer to my heart, even though the endless cold had frozen both my tongue and all compassion I had ever held for my fellow man. Ive never been so mixed with emotions as when the owner finally opened the front door, screaming "gae namja, gae namja!" at me repeatedly, finally giving me my avenue for escape. It was a horrifying yet satisfying experience.

Currently sitting in the urgent care hooked up to an IV thanks to this place. Stopped by for dinner after a long day at work and within the hour was losing my stomach non-stop. Lost so much fluid within thirty minutes at the ER that they had to get me hooked-up to an IV before I even was in a room. I get sushi quite often, but this was my first time here. I certainly wouldnt recommend it. Dont plan on getting anything done for the next half of your day if you chose this place.

This place is ridiculous! This is the third time they said they were out of rice when getting there 40 min before closing time. Really out of rice? That makes 3 times where I have wasted time driving there. I have come to the conclusion they just want to just close 45 min before their closing time. Why lie? Why not just close at 8 instead of 9, instead of lying to your customers! I wont be coming back.

Horrible experience. I accidentally ordered salmon instead of Philadelphia roll. Not to mention its my first time here and spent 23 dollars they wouldnt remake my roll. Kona or June on Stateliness road would have remade my roll. The manager had bad customer service skills. I live 4 blocks Ill drive the extra few blocks to go to Jims. Im pissed!

Nice place! Its small and was quiet when I went which for me less crowded is always nice. The sushi is made to order and is done well. I certainly enjoyed the food and while it can be pricey, they have deals like their Bento boxes that makes it more affordable. Not my Go-To sushi place but a good one nonetheless.

Great sushi! Doesnt look like much, but weve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The chicken fried rice is incredible and the "Sunday Morning" roll should be a national treasure. Only bad thing you could say about the place, is that they sell out of rice. Get there early in the summer.

This is one of my favorite places to get sushi. You can beat their combination of quality and price. The Sunday Role is to die for. Only bad thing is they dont stay open very late and sometimes close for no reason during the winter (no bad weather or anything)

The decor of this shop is not glamorous, but it is the best sushi I have eaten in the city at an incredibly affordable price. I prefer this sushi joint to all others in the city. Try the spicy tuna roll. You wont be disappointed (the best I have had ANYWHERE).

First time it took almost an hour for my order to be prepared. Second time it was 8:30 and they were already closed ON A FRIDAY. They dont even serve alcohol to boot. These guys are lucky Im giving them a 3rd chance because I like sushi too much.

I rather like this place! The food is tasty, diverse, and very reasonably priced. Every visit the staff has been very friendly, seemingly so excited. I come here with my wife regularly, usually on the way to Trader Joes. Highly recommended.

One of my go-to favorite Sushi places. Fast, great prices, SO delicious, and best of all, no bullshit. I tell them what I want at the counter where I pay and they bring it to my table - no having to flag down a waiter or wait for the bill.

I had sushi here one out of two times. If they are open, it is outstanding! I wanted to come back Saturday and get more, but they were closed during normal business hours. There was no sign on the door or anything. I was bummed.

Best sushi in Kansas City! Wish we lived a little closer, but we will make the drive from the outter burbs occasionally, because its that delicious! Yum Yum, Shrimp Tempura and Sex in the City are my favorites!

This place has decent ramen and even sushi, and has been a place Ive gone to for many years. I feel like its overpriced though for what you get outside of the lunch specials being a good value.

The menu is varied through korean and japanese food. Its all delicious and reasonably price. I love the Kokoro Maki roll best of all. The nigiri is also incredibly fresh and very tasty.

Got bi BIM Bab and the spicy tuna roll. Definitely worth the money! Its not a super fancy restaurant but the food is prepared very well. And the owners were really nice and patient.

Great sushi made to order, clear menus, fresh fish make for a great dish! Its a little small inside so I only order takeout but thats fine due to its proximity to my residence.

Stopped at Kokoro Maki on a whim and so glad we did. Great food at great prices. Restaurant itself seems a bit dated, but the food is well beyond good enough to make up for it.

Awesome service on a Friday night. Eel rolls and Spicy Salmon rolls. Bibambap bowl, yaki soba. Took about 5-6 minutes to get my order brought out. Will be going back.

This place is fantastic! If you want fast food, go to McDonalds. But if you know sushi, then you know you have to wait for quality. And it is worth it here.

The sushi is affordable and tastes fine. However, the Ramen is a serious disgrace. You could just make it yourself with one of those packets at the store.

The food here was really good Im coming back for sure. The LA short ribs are literally to die for and dont even get me started on the Kokoro Maki Roll.

Good sushi, a little overpriced for what it is. Great place to call ahead and pick up to go. Minimal seating available but it is never very full.

Really cool place- small and cozy. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Lots of flavor- I recommend the Hot Mamma and the ginger salad.

I love this place. The staff are friendly. Its well decorated and clean. Most importantly, the food is delicious and served in a timely manner.

Love this little place- its my favorite sushi place. Other food is good too. Though the calamari could be more tender. Love the prices.

The yum yum roll has some of the greatest flavors and textures of roll Ive ever had. Has become a regular for me.
