Monsoon Indian Grill has be one of Topeka’s best kept secrets. I lived in Hawaii for most of my 20’s and had the pleasure of eating some very authentic and exotic dishes. This restaurant made me feel like I was a world away. The ambiance was very tranquil, while the lighting was romantic and adequate. The décor was absolutely beautiful, professional, and was not overdone. The service was more than what you would expect from any establishment in town. My server was attentive and took the time to explain the menu to me as if I was his only patron. Luckily, he was also the bartender and allowed me to order a simple, yet unique drink that was not offered on the menu. Starters: I began my dining experience with a Whisky-Rita, the Coconut Soup, and Peshawari Naan. All three were excellent. The coconut soup was especially soothing and warming. The naan fit perfectly with the soup and was very flavorful. Entrée: I chose the Chatpati Machli, which is the tilapia curried in tomato sauce with garlic, ginger, and a hint of fennel. I have to thank my waiter for this. The fine option given by this restaurant is the patron can choose their own spice level. I chose to have my food made spicy and it was perfect. Conclusion: This is a great restaurant for whatever your occasion. The service, décor, ambiance, and food are all equally exceptional. This was a wonderful experience. Thank you Monsoon Indian Grill!

My first impression of the establishment was one of culture. It was beautifully decorated in adornments that complimented the cultural experience of the meal. The food was very well prepared and filled with so many wonderful levels of flavor that i have never before experienced. The drinks were well prepared as well with skill and poise shaming most establishments that specialize in the production of drinks. But all this pales in comparison to the exceptional service provided during the meal. Never before have i seen such care or experienced such service in an eveing meal. From appetizer to desert or server was always helpful and happy to wnhance the experience with his knowledge of the cuizine. Overall this has been in my humble opinion the service and quality that many severely priced establishments steive for but rarely acheive. I have no holds in rating this place 5 out of 5 stars, a rating i have never before given to any establishment.

This place is great! I was pretty surprised since I havent seen/heard/ate at any good restaurants in Topeka. My work colleague and I stopped here after a work training session and it was SO GOOD! We stopped in during the lunch buffet and Im happy we did! The food was AMAZING! They had everything I loved and more! The naan was fresh and they had this cabbage that is so good and Ive never seen it served at any Indian buffets. The rice and chicken tikka masala were awesome as well! The only downside was that it was so good, that all the chicken in the tikka masala were gone and didnt refill it as soon as they should have but that didnt stop me! The Gulab janum was delicious as well! The servers also walked around and asked each table if they wanted fresh naan! Nice touch! I cant wait to come back to this little gem the next time Im in Topeka!

Fantastic! I cant say enough good about them. Tucked behind Chipotle and not very visible from the road but so worth finding. Hubby and I were looking for dinner and tried an Italian place that we ended up leaving before ordering and found Monsoon. Very glad we did. Quiet atmoshere, up to date and very clean restaurant with lovely art adorning the walls. Our server Mark was the best we have had in a long time, very knowledgable, patient and answered all of our questions. We never waited for our water glass to be filled or had to flag him over, he was most definitely attentive but did not overstay his welcome tableside. The food did not disappoint, fresh, tasty, perfectly portioned and a great value for the cost...meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans can all enjoy the many different options. If youre in the area you should give them a try!

The atmosphere is the best part of this place. The food is bland which is so surprising for an Indian restaurant. Are they trying to save on spices? I had terrible service. Its not like I expect much, just bring me some eating utensils and drinks. Somehow they couldnt even meet that low standard. Honestly the only reason I went here was because Globe is closed on Sundays. I will not be returning. Seriously, the only decent thing about this place is how they display the food and the art on the wall. They put all their effort into looks and not into food. Im giving it two stars, only because its not filthy. I literally gave it a star for being clean.

Terrible service, so bad I didnt even get to try the food! Traveling on business, this place was recommended to me. It was only half full but it took them 15 minutes to take my order. After ordering one appetizer and one entree I waited... And waited... After 45 minutes the waiter told me the food should be out shortly. So, maybe Id get the app in 10 more minutes? At that point I politely left without eating. Too bad, smelled good in there, but the other 2 dozen restaurants in that area dont have an hour wait to eat! 0/10 would not try again.

Amazing food, excellent staff drinks never were empty, My wife and I went there wanting something different, they have multiple spice levels on many different entrees. Nice mellow atmosphere, food was amazing, very fresh and tasty, I had Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife wanted fish, but was unsure, she asked the waiter to surprise her, she ended up with an amazing dish it was tilapia masala. We both got milder dishes and were very pleased with the flavor of everything. If you want something different from Topeka this is the place to go.

Food was good. Dishes were sweeter than any other Indian food Ive ever eaten--we tried at least 80 percent of what they had and every one ran on the sweet side. Atmosphere was nice. Service was friendly. Naan was lightly fried in oil--which was a new twist. All in all, I would consider returning to order off the menu instead of the buffet in order to get a more authentic tasting of their dishes. Was expensive compared to other Indian restaurants Ive been to around the US, especially considering the limited options.

Ive eaten lots of Indian food in my life. From DC to NYC to Boston to philly to North Carolina. Never expected to find such an amazing place in Kansas! Had the garlic Naan, saag paneer, and lamb vindaloo. The food is outstanding and service is gracious and prompt. Highly recommended! Everything is fresh and tasty. The cocktails looked great, too!

Wonderful Indian food. Different every time on the luncheon buffet. But what we love about it the most is that it is not too spicy hot. My husband who cannot handle most Indian food because of the heat can eat everything here. And yet it has tons of good Indian flavor. They use all the spices but not the hot chili peppers.

Went last night and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We were new to Indian cuisine and had awesome help deciding what to order. We will definitely be going back. If you are looking for a new experience this is one of the best places in Topeka to eat.
