My daughter and I love to search for amazing Ramen houses when we travel and always compare them against Ichido (formerly Ippudo) in Minneapolis. Nishikawa stands up- if not exceeds- Ichido. The broth is rich and the pork belly melts in your mouth. I rarely like pork belly as it isnt often cooked properly and too fatty at many places. Nishikawas was amazing. My daughter had the Miso which had a slight sweetness compared to my order of Nishikawa Black. Both were delicious. The soft boiled eggs were perfect. The garlic oil added another layer of flavor and richness. Unique and so good. Wish I was back in AZ for a bowl right now. My only slight critique would be that I wish the noodles had a bit more bite/chewy texture. They were slightly soft. The waitress, McKenna (?) was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself wasnt much. Sitting in a strip mall, no real character. But the ramen more than made up for it. Dont judge a book by its cover!

I had heard about this place from a few friends, so it was hyped up to be an excellent spot for ramen. When I showed up on a Monday for lunch, the place seemed to be somewhat busy, with a few couples and a large group of ten or more, which is usually a good sign. Even with that, I was promptly seated, given a glass of water and a menu. Being new to the place, I asked my waitress what the "house specialty" was, she recommended 2 different bowls, and explained the qualities for each, making my decision making process quick. I went with the Shio bowl, which was at my table in about 5 minutes. The portion was right sized, and came with 3 large pieces of pork a whole egg and the deliciously house made noodles in the savory broth. It tasted great and I left full and happy. I fully recommend anyone who likes ramen or wants to try it for the first time, to give Nishikawa a go!

Great Employees, I was surprised how young everyone seemed. Which made me pretty skeptical of the Chefs at first. But my skeptic disappeared quickly. My Girl ordered Shio Ramen and Gyoza and I ordered Yokohama Ramen and Takoyaki. The beautiful ladies served us wonderfully and upon arrival the Food looked absolutely Gorgeous. I was surprised, honestly. They were working extremely well as the tables filled up and it became full house. Takoyaki was perfect, the best Takoyaki I have had in AZ. The Gyoza was delicious, light and easy to eat. The Ramen was done really well, EXCEPT I have to warn you that it was heavily salted. As a couple whom only eat low or no sodium foods now the fact that there was so much sodium wasnt able to be guzzled away with water. (in fact its been 2 hours and I can still taste the salt) ごちそさまでした。

The restaurant is nicely remodeled from the old restaurant that used to be there. The staff is fantastic and theyre always so helpful. Some of the best restaurant staff Ive had the pleasure of ordering from. My biggest issue comes from the food. It isnt very good. The restaurant before this one took over has better ramen without a doubt. The katsudon at Nishikawa isnt really even traditional katsudon . The food isnt awful, and thats not what Im trying to get at. My mom was an executive chef in Japan for so many years, and Taiko (restaurant before) had some awesome, authentic Japanese meals, maybe my taste buds are spoiled a bit. But unfortunately I will need to get my ramen and Japanese food fix elsewhere.

I have been here two times and so far I can say this is my favorite ramen shop in Arizona. If you like garlic and scallions like me, the nishikawa ramen is a great choice. The broth is extremely rich and delicious. Another small detail that makes the food great is it stays the perfect temperature for a long period. No one likes cold soup! I also had the chicken pot stickers, very flavorful and texture was perfect. Green tea is also delicious. If you like things sweet, they will sweeten the tea as well. Short and sweet menu means they do a few things BUT they do them WELL. If you love ramen but want a welcoming wait staff and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, try this place out!

I have honestly have never had a better bowl of ramen eating out before! This noodle shop seriously sets a standard that would be hard to beat! We had ordered the Nishikawa Black, which consists of their signature pork broth, black garlic oil, and a couple of slices of chashu (pork belly), among other toppings. It was simply magnificent on its own, however, I would recommend adding their chili pepper powder. It breaks down into an oil in the broth, resembling Rayu. I couldnt be more pleased! 10 out of 10, 5 stars, whatever you want to say that this is the best, I would agree!

Coming from numerous other ramen shops, I cant say I was very impressed with this place. I really wanted to be, but there wasnt anything especially "authentic" about the atmosphere, service, or food. It was all pretty mediocre, but was relatively cheap, too. The broth of the Miso soup was the most flavorful part. The noodles were too salty, the pork belly too bland and overcooked, and the soft-boiled egg was sour flavored. The different in flavors really clashed with each other. Overall, it made for decent cheap ramen, but I would highly suggest exploring Tampopo or Umami.

The soup and noodles were hearty and filling. The broth was rich. This is the first ramen house I have been to so I may not be the best judge. The flavors were different and unusual to me for a ramen. Different than a Pho. So the flavor was not my thing. However other Asian diners were there and seemed to enjoy the ramen. The tapas and donburi were good. So its a neat place for a sake bomber and lighter sides.

My wife and I love the food here. Its a great local place, and the prices are really reasonable for the amount of food. Everything tastes so good! The last time we went in, the chef sent pork with some new seasoning for us to try at our table, to see what we thought of it. That kind of extra service made us feel like regulars, even though weve only been there two times before. Id definitely recommend it.

SLURP!!! At first, I was little scared that this place was new to businesses, but boy was I just over- worrywart! This place is so good!!! The broth was fantastic, the noodle was great, the service was ok. The downside is toppings are not much choices, BUT the favor of ramen is all in the broth, so who cares about toppings...I will keep coming back for flavor, coming back for melten pork!!!

Ramen was decent . Dining area and table were extremely dirty despite having just opened for lunch. Server was wearing a shirt that looked like it was from the bottom of the clothes hamper, some filthy basketball shorts, and flip flops. Dont order the tea whatever you do. Anyone rating this place above 3 stars has never been to a good Ramen house.

Small restaurant with good food. They dont have a lot of vegetarian options however their vegetarian ramen was pretty decent. Note, their vegetarian ramen is not mentioned in their menu, have to ask the staff. I wish they had more sides like burnt garlic etc like other ramen restaurants that I have been to in the past.
