The sushi is all frozen and the rice is undercooked, but if youre looking for a big pretty sushi roll (really just half a meal for $8) then this place exists in town and is cheaper than the other places. The only thing on the menu thats worth it is the salmon lunch special. Its still overpriced for a frozen salmon fillet, a mound of overcooked rice and some slices of iceburg lettuce salad with store-bought salad dressing, but its a nice sit-down and the decorations are decent.

Amazing sushi, with a unique menu. The prices here are great, and the sushi is pleasantly bite sized. The place is clean, and the wait times have never been unbearable. Plus youll never have to worry about running out of water, they are always quick to refill your glass before it even gets half empty! Been eating here for 5 years, and will be for many more. :)

Some of the worst service I have ever had in my life. Not only do they get my order wrong every single time, but the waiters and especially the waitresses will ignore you throughout the meal. The only good thing I can say about Sushi Tao is that its really cheap; for the service they provided me? Shouldve been free.

#SushiTao It is difficult to find authentic or palatable Japanese food in Humboldt County period, especially if you are coming from an urban background, but Sushi Tao will pleasantly surprise. The ambiance is cozy and quaint, but the chefs and food quality are the best in the area. Tomo and Sushi Spot cant compete.

Ive been to almost every sushi place in the area over the years, and Ive never been disappointed with this restaurant. Food always shows up fast, very fresh, and amazing prices. The staff is friendly and willing to do small substitutions for allergies. Definitely a place to visit as often as possible

This is my favorite sushi place in Humboldt, hands-down! The owner is always very sweet and welcoming, and the rest of the staff are great as well. The sushi is always fresh and delicious! I love it, and I definitely would come here before trying the other more "trendy" places in Arcata.

This is by far my favorite little sushi place! It has a tucked away feeling, so I feel like Im going somewhere special to eat. I am always greeted by the friendly owner, and I always experience prompt service. The food is delicious, and I am craving it as I write this!

Been going here since they opened 6+ years ago =) Fresh, great price, quite the variety of rolls, and they serve my favorite miso soup. Have yet to find a miso I like more. The owner, Frank, is always so kind to us. Cant say enough about how much I love this place!

the service was awesome, our waiter was really courteous, the sushi was pretty good.. somewhat flavorless or not too many things inside and there is a $2 charge for every roll you want tempura which i find kind of crazy. overall its an ok place.

What an excellent find. We ordered the Firecracker, Spider Roll, Jalapeño Roll and House Special Roll and we loved them all. And do not forget some Miso, that was yummie too. Next time we are in he area, we will def stop for more.
