We have eaten there many times and are usually satisfied, but last nights take out was awful. I ordered lobster shrimp with extra snow peas and broccoli, and it was awful. It was over $15 and I got only 4 shrimp, and the sauce was like sea water, salty and thin and vegies were overcooked. The General Tsaos Chicken was the worse cuts of chicken, very fatty and hard to cut with a knife, and it seemed like it still had skin on, but maybe was just fat. The beef & broccoli was o.k., but the broccoli was again overcooked. Spring rolls cold and greasy. Last time for take out. Maybe its better to just eat in.

I went in here for a quick lunch, and I found the place to be very quaint and cute. The man who greeted me at the door was extremely sweet and funny. I was by myself, and he made sure to give me enough time to myself while also striking up a conversation. The food came out fairly quickly (maybe 10-15 minutes), and it was very good! It is definitely Americanized, but, if youre American like me and dont mind it, then youll definitely like the place. The lunch prices seemed fairly reasonable. Great food and great customer service!

Hai Hongs food is solidly average for American Chinese food, and slightly overpriced, although no more expensive than comparable Collegetown restaurants. The service is quick unless theyre really busy, and the atmosphere is "okay". The best I can say about Hai Hong is that there are some really terrible Chinese restaurants in Ithaca, and its not one of them. Ling Ling Garden (East Hill) is also pretty good, and Asia Cuisine (Commons) has better food but limited Chinese selections.

I went to Hai Hong (College Town location) when I returned from China, and the food there was just as good as some of the best restaurants I visited in China. Im sure they Americanize some dishes (i.e., likely dont serve the ducks head with the duck dish), but I think it is good. The prices are reasonable, the food is not greasy or unhealthy, and the staff is friendly.

I have sampled a lot of Cantonese food in Toronto and throughout China. Hai Hong certainly does a decent job at many of the dishes, but doesnt adequately compare at all in others (example: the salted-fish eggplant hot pot dish - i dont know its name). For Ithaca at least, its very good. The selection is plentiful, ingredients seem fresh, and prices are fair.

The food is catered to the locals (food marked as spicy is actually sweet). There are much better options if youre Chinese looking for real Chinese food. Its also extremely overpriced, and they begged me for a larger tip and mocked me for the amount offered. Stay away from this place.

Everything was delicious and well priced, served by friendly, attentive, easy to talk with wait staff. I would not, however, describe the seating arrangement as relaxing/cozy, but thats just my preference; I dont like open spaced freestanding tables.

As a native Chinese, I have to say that the dishes here are horrible! Trust me, the vegetable served here is the worst dish Ive had ever in my life. It hasnt been washed an well cooked. Think million times before you make your mind to go to Hai Hong.

Desayunamos aquí después de hacer cola para entrar. Único lugar abierto en la zona por ser día festivo.

Best Chinese food in Ithaca. I eat here about once a month. Always good. Seafood is especially well done. The salt and pepper mixed fish plate and the whole fried fish options are especially good.

Its a small, moderately pleasant Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum from a menu. The food was fine; I was unhappy with the vegetarian options.
