Ive read allot of reviews on the Starlite Room and read they had been voted the best hamburger in Cedar Rapids multiple times. One positive is the food is on the cheap end, I only payed around 9 dollars for what I got. The Starlite Room is a dive in every way, but not a good dive. I went on a Friday around 1:00pm. I seated myself and one of the waitresses was prompt in asking if I needed a menu. I ordered a 1/2lb cheeseburger with the works and french fries. When I finally received my order it was unceremoniously dumped on the table I was sitting at and the waitress walked off. I could feel my arteries clogging just from looking at the cheeseburger. One half of the bun was completely soaked with grease and was falling apart. The other side of the bun was a bit hard like it had sat on the toaster too long. The actual hamburger patty appeared to be your standard frozen patty tossed on a griddle and cooked. Nothing really special at all about it. For being voted the best hamburger in Cedar Rapids I was expecting something truly amazing, not what I got. The waitresses seemed like they really didnt care and were rude. My bill was tossed on the table and the only words the waitress spoke to me were when I ordered my food. I wont be back.

I went in with coworkers on Friday night they were understaffed and the server we had seemed to have an attitude problem, some of the people in our groups food was forgotten about and they had to ask again and when they said just forget it they need to get going she still brought it to them when who knows how long she had forgotten about it. I was displeased with there automatically added in 18% tip which again the server didnt deserve with her attitude I wrote on my receipt I only wanted to pay her two dollars not the added 18% and they had the audacity to give her the 18% and the two dollars I wanted to give her. After eating from there I also havent been feeling well and have symptoms of food poisoning I am highly upset about the service I got here and I want my money back this was horrible. When we couldnt find the server we had to go to the bar to get drinks or a soda refill cause we would ask and she would forget. This was terrible service for a Friday. I got better service from the bartender

great food freindly staff, only complaint is if you order to go and want sides like ranch the servers taking your order on the phone usually dont relay this to the cooks it seems or the cooks are bad at this detail, The cook is the one that I think packages the orders so the server never touches it to add sides before going out the door. Hopefully this is something they can approve on because theres nothing worse then getting your fresh cheez nuggets home to find no ranch!!

The Starlite Room is a CR STAPLE! Ive been enjoying their Mom & Pop atmosphere and high quality bar food since my grandparents would take me there for dinner as a child. I like to start my dining experience with their signature popcorn and breaded mushrooms. Their hand-breaded tenderloins are the Best. Perfect place for watching a Hawkeye game thanks to all the big screen TVs. They have a great party room and a nice patio. I will Always love this place.

The service was not so great. I didnt get a refill at all. There was never a waiter/waitress around me. It took like 20 minutes just to wait for a waiter to take my order and the food wasnt that great there wasnt much options to pick from. If your looking for a cheap bar with cheap food this is the place but if you want a sit down cheap dinner for a family then Id find another place.

The "best burger" in C R? Yuck. I had high hopes for the food here, but wont be back. My burger was a pre-formed oval patty with an outer skin that made the thing chewy. The waitresses were very friendly and Hot, but not enough to distract me from how bad the meat was. Oh, and whats with no basket or plate to eat off of? I got a burger wrapped in wax paper, set right on the table..

Cedar Rapids has uncommonly good bar food and the Starlight is no exception. I had the chicken tenders which were.crips and not oily. Perfect really. But you have to try their monster burger. It is excellent. The service is very good and the place is clean. The outdoor dining area is shaded and nice. My understanding is they have been in CR a long time. I can see why.

Took a bit long for our server to check on us, but I could see she was busy. The food is AMAZING!!!! I recommend the broccoli cheddar bites and the jalapeno poppers, and DEFINITELY the french fries with cheddar cheese and bacon. You can definitely tell the bacon is fresh and REAL! Not the weird bacon you sometimes get in teenie bits and pieces at other restaurants.

The super burger is phenomenal!!!!!!! came here on a tuesday so I also tried some of the 50 cent wings and they were good. I travel around the country for work and this was a top 3 burger Ive tried! the place itself is older and more set in their ways. pool table, bar area but if youre a true foodie; this burger is a must do if youre in the area

While the wait staff was friendly, the massive 35 minute wait for a burger and a sandwich killed this place for me. My chilli burger was overcooked and the bun was already mush by the time I got it. I ordered fries that I never received, at least I wasnt charged for them. You get what you pay for, and this place was cheap, in price and quality.

We always enjoy our visit here, today though they were even having to deal with the fact they lost their computer system for orders due to a storm that just came through. We had about 8 people there and there was another even larger group that came and they got all our orders right and pulled out the tablet to take our credit card. Great job!

I love this place so much, I cant begin to describe how cool it is here. They have a bar area with a pool table and they have a seprate room for regular dining, good for casual outings and families, they even have a little spot outside. The staff is amazing, the food is amazing, the prices are amazing. Deffinitely my favorite place to go.

Typical hole-in-the-wall joint, with the kind of menu & service you would expect. The beers cold, the cod nuggets are on point, & the burgers arent bad. Not the best in Cedar Rapids like some claim, but theyre good. The coleslaw sucks, though. Dont ever get the coleslaw.

Nasty employees. Rude busy chatting with each other. Did get order right then blamed it on us that we didnt order right. Burgers are nasty and taste funky. Thus has happened on one that one occasion. Tried to give them a chance but a complete failure. Sad sad sad.

A good old fashioned dinner, this place is always busy but they can squeeze you in pretty quick. They serve popcorn while youre waiting if you ask for it. Good food but some limited options. Service has always been really friendly and helpful
