On Saturday, July 22 six people came into your restaurant to have dinner. This is something we do at least three to four times a year as a group. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress took our orders and she was off. We would see her two more times before bringing us our bills. One of the people in my group ordered sashimi which was not even delivered until after we had receive the majority of our hibachi meal. Our chef had to clear our salad and soup dishes away as our waitress was nowhere to be found. Our chef had to flag down our waitress in order to get additional drinks for the table. Over half of our waters were empty the majority of the time we were here. One person in our party typically has three to four beers with dinner and was only able to order one due to no waitress. Once we received our bills we noted that an automatic gratuity was added to the bill. When I went to get the manager to question this I was informed that the manager was our waitress. Her name is Sarah (Server ID: 212729). Sarah prompt came to our table to collect the bills. When my husband politely asked why there was a gratuity added to the bill he was given a very rude reply "It is automatic with parties of 6 or more. We have to share tips with the bartender and the chef". Her tone of voice was very confrontational and this escalated a bad experience further. She grabbed the bills and took them away. When she returned she snapped out "I took it off all the bills" as she handed everyone their bills. This is not acceptable behavior from a member of a wait staff let alone the manager of your restaurant. This was one of our favored places to dine but this will effect that choice. Also, as we were leaving you began "barking" orders at another one of the waiters working that evening. It very much appeared that she was taking her anger out on him and I felt sorry for him. On a good note, the Chef did a fantastic job.

Went in for some sushi and ordered the Rock and Roll which on their menu says it has snow crab. When I get my plate I notice that it was not snow crab but instead imitation crab meat which I am allergic to. The waitress told me that the menu is wrong and they only make rolls with imitation crab meat. She read through the menu with me and I settled on a spider roll which has real soft shell crab. The chef forgot to make the roll and was reminded to make it for me 20 minutes after the order was put in. When I finally got the roll it contained imitation crab meat as seen in the picture. The menu no where says that is included in the roll. I tell the waitress about it and she makes the excuse that I think the roll is made one way, she thinks another and the sushi chef just does whatever he wants. She gave us the bill and apologized to me for leaving hungry. I just wanted some sushi.... If you do like the sushi here just make sure that you are getting what you pay for.

Our daughter is always talking the place up -- so we checked it out. We lucked out & got her favorite chef (name pronounced "Sang") -- We did not leave hungry. Soup, salad, and a pile of rice, veggies, meat, chicken, & shrimp -- all prepared just the way we asked by a Chef / Artist / Entertainer. Im sure all of the chefs are good at food preparation, but in my opinion "Sang" stood out. And FUN was had by all. If youre a snob, a stuffed shirt, or someone who cant relax and enjoy the evening -- then head for your country club. But if youre one who enjoys relaxed dining with great food & a cooking show by a master -- then I highly recommend a combination of Osakas & Chef "Sang". ------- It is not FAST food -- its a dining experience. Expect to pay about $30 a head & they dont take checks. --- Thank You Chef "Sang", we will definitely be back !!!! ---------- P.S. - In all honesty, I must say, the waitress was slow, inattentive, & got the bill wrong several times.

Osaka used to be my to-to place for sushi when I was in CR because they were the only sushi restaurant in town that made authentic sushi rice (rice cooked with rice vinegar, sugar, salt and dashi)... and my favorite thing to was order sashimi and then ask for a side of the sushi rice to take back to my hotel room. This time when I ordered, the waiter said "so a side of white rice". I specified that I didnt want regular white rice - but I wanted sushi rice... with all the seasoning. He said "They just use white rice". I asked him when they started doing that and he wasnt sure. Sure enough - plain white rice. No seasoning. I was pretty disappointed. So now, Osaka doesnt offer anything unique in the way of sushi... so you might as well go to Oyama or Sushi House because youll get the same sushi - but cheaper.

First time visitors. The food was very good but we had to keep calling the waitress down for drink refills, etc. We would go back more often but the prices are very very high. Have to get a mortage on the house to eat their more than once or twice per year. If you have a family not the place to eat due to the high prices. My wife and I paid $95.50 for dinner there last night which included a 18% tip that was added to our bill since we sat with other friends which made us a group!!! Service was not 18% good. Maybe they knew they were getting the tip so they did not have to do much to earn it?? The chef was ok but not much of a show. Wouldnt really go back unless I had a windfall of cash!!

Best sushi in town. We eat here once a week. They have good sushi deals on Sunday and throughout the week during the summer. This rating would be a 5 if I didnt have constant problems with the servers. Not paying any attention to us, awkward and not professional, cant pronounce items on the menu, no refills, Forgot to bring out soup and salad, ect. There used to be a waitress that was fantastic, wish she was still there! Maybe their hibachi is better than the service you get with sushi only, which is in a small room with small two person tables. Itd be nice to see them open the space a little bit, get rid of the seating area and get some booths.

The décor was suitable for the style of restaurant. They had a very good crowd that night and everyone seemed to be in a festive mood. I had my meal at the bar as always and the bartenders/staff were very attentive and friendly. Even the waitresses that walked by would stop and ask if I was being helped. Very different than some restaurants. I wasn’t used to so much attention. Like the atmosphere it was very comforting. The food was plentiful and delicious. Since I’m not used to Sushi I ordered too much and felt like exploding. Nevertheless I would go back alone, with a friend or family. The prices are a bit on the high side but it’s worth the trip.
