Excellent Pakistani/Indian food. They only use spices like black pepper to make food hot. I love their Indian style Tea, after my everyday walk in winter I used to visit this place to have a cup of hot tea. Also here we can buy grocery items like Raw Rice, and other Indian grocery items. Halal Fresh Chicken is also available here. Great place ! for fresh Indian style food Cost wise its medium not too high, Tea $1 Main and Sides between 3-15$ approx., Also here we can get Fresh Sweets, Bakery Items like Punjabi Somosa, puff etc.

Pretty cool place to grab some Pakistani/Indian food. Youll feel like youre sitting in the middle of a convenience store and grocery store, literally. Plus, Indian music videos as you eat. Addendum: Seriously $4.99 for plain rice?! I thought the waiter said this was included with the curry...Not cool, so I docked some stars. (How can plain rice be worth that much? Prob coulda purchased a bag of rice in the market for less.)

Really good, authentic home-style Indian/Pakistani food. Not a fancy place, but the food is top notch. If large amounts of ghee (clarified butter), highly spiced and spicy food is not your thing you will not be pleased. If you enjoy good food prepared as in South Asian homes, you will love this place. Chicken Makhani & Biryani are highly recommended as are most of the lamb, dal & vegetable dishes.

So in the effort of trying something new, I went here. Service was terrible. I went in for about 5-7 mins and no one said anything to me. I definitely got looks like I was in the wrong place. Maybe it because Im not Indian. I am definitely an "out-of-towner" as I am from Massachusetts. They really lost a would be customer.

My experience with the this restaurant was horrible. I ordered chicken biryani when I saw the chicken I called the waiter and told him I want chicken not lamb the chicken was a little bit dark I thought its a kind of red meat. Also, after I started eating I found hair in the rice as you can see in the picture.

Best Halwa Puri..good thing is it opens up super early..dont have to wait up for chai in the morning but if you are going with your family, try sitting in the segregated family area or otherwise get ready to be stared at. Staff is friendly, they also have a small grocery corner and you dont have to street park.

Truly had an authentic feel to it, service is great for a take out place. As far as food goes, this is an Indian food treasure. Naan is excellent, and I had the all Gobi, or the curried potatoes dish. Spicy and full of flavor. This is now a top place for me in an area full of ethnic food.

Authentic, freshly-prepared food. Love the puff pastries, whether filled with chicken, beef or potato. Wide variety on menu. The prices are reasonable. Very casual setting. You come here to eat good food, not to soak in atmosphere. Its a 4, but gave 5 to offset the non-sense 1 star reviews

Well the food was good and the price was reasonable but their service sucks could be better to welcome more outsiders than their own race the waiter has to welcome people instead of ignoring them like ur not going to pay... need customer service and people skills developed need to improve

The beauty of living in this city is knowing you can find authentic dishes pretty easily. I love visiting Edgewater, it is one of the most diverse community in Chicago. Both a restaurant and a small grocery store. Grab a dessert from their cooler, you will not regret it.

I had more bones than meat in my lamb biryani. My girlfriend ordered the chicken korma, which also had bones and almost no yogurt sauce. They did offer to remake the dishes-which were inedible-but we decided to just take our business elsewhere. Very disappointing.

I would say one of the best Pakistani and Indian cuisine in the Edgewater neighborhood. Prices are average but large quantity of food. If you are visiting alone careful before ordering any Main course with Rice as the quantity usually serves for 2.

The whole experience was just bad, chicken bones instead of chicken, way too spicy even when I said I wanted it light spicy. 4/5 of the plate were rice, and 1/5 were chicken bones. I will never come back to this place.

Best service, best food to their ability, very clean, very Humble employees, with the square footage space they have, they try to have most of the grocery needs of the community. I really enjoy buying from them only.

What the restaurant lacks in ambience, they more than make up for with their food! Always fresh...always delicious. So glad they are located just a half a block away from home.

I cant say enough about the Indian food at this place. Its open early and late and gets you homemade food in a flash. Try out the paratha omlette with a mango lassi.
