I almost didnt come to Lal Qila after reading all the reviews. I ordered Goat Kardhai and Naan. They food took 20 minutes but it was hot and sizling and the Naans were just amazing. They were super fluffy and soft on the top and just slighly krispy on the bottom. Exactly like how it is in Pakistan. And the Goat Kardhai was out of this world. My mouth is watering as I think about what I had almost 4 months ago. Yes I am writing my review almost 4 months later :) I would definately go back. However, the person at the counter did seem like he wasnt happy to be there, but he was polite and when I told him about the reviews he has and that I wasnt going to come, he seemed to be dissappointed, but he was happy that I had still gone there and tasted the amazing food. They also had the best tea between Lazeeza Cafe, Naan n Kebab and Lal Qila. Oh and I thought they were a bit pricy, but once I got the food, it was enough for two people so that actually made it super cheap.

We use to be a regular customer to this restaurent. Couple of weeks back we ordered chicken biriyani and chicken tikka tandoori. The biriyani was very dry and chicken was smelling bad & tasting old. The same with the chicken tikka tandoori. We had to trash just like that. When we called them back and mentioned about this issue, they told us theyll refund the money. Today when we want to order, the owner refused to provide the service just because of the complaint we made. All we wanted as a regular customer is to let him know the fact. But the owner seems to have a very bad attitude to even loose a customer. We havent heard such a worst customer service anywhere in US. He mentioned that we can go someother place and get biriyani. I will never suggest this restaurent to anyone in my life time.

Visited for lunch buffet on the weekend. I LOVED the food. There were not as many items on the buffet (4 chicken items, 2 goat items, 3 vegetable items, 2 sweets) compared to some other Indian buffets I have been to in St. Louis area ... but all the items were excellent. Buffet was definitely more geared towards the non-veg eater ... I would not recommend the buffet for vegetarians or if you are craving South Indian food. Another big plus is the nans are brought fresh to your table ... so no stale nans on the buffet. Wait staff was polite and attentive, but dont expect the American style customer service. All in all it was a great experience for me, I will definitely be going back several times. It reminded me of food I used to eat at Muslim weddings in India.

Customer service must be pathetic. We ordered food but had to wait a long time before our food arrived. The surprising part was- we were the only one present at that time. Ordered Chicken tikka and other items but surprising they dont give you rice with the chicken tikka. They want you to pay for the rice ($3.99)- are you kidding me, no other Indian restaurant charges you for rice, its not about this money but the way they approach business is mind blowing. This restaurant is not managed to proper standards and staff service and food taste is mediocre. There are other Indian Restaurants around St. Louis that are hundred times better than this junk.

all the negative reviews are totally correct and I m totally agreed with Ha Mid and Spr Sprin. when I asked them about the taste of the food , they said that you are not the only one who eat here but we also have to take care for the taste of the people other than india or Pakistan so we sometime put sugar in chicken tikka masala. I was just surprised because of this reply and I think all the positive reviews are from the owner of this restaurant So if you are from India or Pakistan ,the taste of this restaurant is not for you. In my whole life ,I heard this first time that chicken tikka masala is supposed to be sweet, Seriously???

I have no idea how they are managing their restaurent, they dont even know how to behave with customers, and they are very rude and i havent seen proper approach to any other tables when i was there. Ambienance is ok but the food is worst. I went to eat biryani based on their name since they are famous for making it but havent seen the quality of the food. The buffet was all with left overs and they dont even refill items... when we order food seprately then bring from buffet and pretend like thay made seprately.. i never go there again...

The food was very tasteless, no salt/ spice at all. The sweet was too sweet for our tooth. When I gave my review to the guy who stands near the register about the food, he response was very rude, and careless. He said "I dont make the food, tell the chef." I didnt understand if he wanted me to go to the kitchen and tell the chef or what. Very irresponsible behavior. Me and my friends have decided not to visit this place again. I would recommend the same to you guys.

I went there for the dinner buffet tonight. It is in an old Mexican restaurant. The two staff who helped me were very friendly. The food was excellent. A good variety of food. Not spicy, but as one commenter already said, thats not the way northern Indian and Pakistani food is normally. Dessert was really interesting--some sort of lemon and lime rice dish. Only complaint, and all buffets suffer from this, some of the food was getting cold towards the end.

We did not like Lal Qila at all. It is the worst south asian food I have ever had. The food taste was horrible and there was excessive oil used in the entrees. The quality of meat was very bad too - it was tasteless. Moreover, the hygene conditions were not great either. There were lots of files trying to sit on our food. If you like North Indian / Pakistani cuisine, avoid this place at all costs !

Food was excellent in the buffet. There was a big selection, and the food was spicy and fresh. The mango lassi was delicious and the naans were fresh and tasty. We organized a party for 50 people and Ali (the manager) took very good care of us. If you are looking for authentic and great tasting Pakistani food in Saint Louis, this is the place to go. Dont trust the bad reviews.

Worst food. Tasteless, and saltless. Just waste of money. I dont understand what the guy on the counter thinks of himself, im sure he doesnt even own the restaurant. His behaviour was racist.Very irresponsible and rude!! Or may be he doesnt know there are a lot of other indian restaurants in the neighborhood which are farrr more better!

Food was not spicy at all, actually, food had no taste at all. The food spices are set for americans and not Desis. I had mutton curry, chicken curry, fried chicken, and karhee, i am sorry to say but the food had absolutely no spices and therefore, no taste. The only thing I liked was chich seekh kabobs
