Ive been coming here for several years and never once have I had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and fairly quick and everything on the menus is prepared to perfection. There is a daily lunch buffet that is a steal. Though the selection isnt vast, its a great sampling of their most popular menu items and as much as you can stand to eat. Some of my personal favorites are the chicken afghani and gosht pasanda. It seems since Sitar took them over (formerly Maharajah) there are some things still listed on the menu that they no longer server, but it seems to be just a few items like appetizers. If youre in town and looking for a great meal, this is one to hit.

Buffet was cold and old, food didnt look good, we got there at 2:15pm Sunday we were told food looks old because they about to close but people still were coming, most chicken dishes have not meat left and there was chicken on round hot plate all burned and dried up, rice budding was so soup a like that you would need straw to drink it, chef should work on his food quality, we asked for fresh bread and that was very good, Waite staff was very nice and welcoming

The food used to be much better, but now Ill never eat there again. The last two times Ive eaten at the buffet with friends, we have all come down with food poisoning. Not to mention the fact that they lied to another friend who asked if a particular dish had cashews in it. He had to use his epi-pen or he could have died. Theres better Indian food in Alabama. Drive to Birmingham or Huntsville, or make it yourself.

This place is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa. They have a lunch buffet with fantastic options it always has soups, salads, desserts, several entrées and side dishes. It is not the same every day but it is always wonderful. The servers are very nice the hostess is wonderful the music is lovely and the white table cloths give it an elegance even though the building is older.

Sitar is my favorite ethnic restaurant ever. Ive had both the lunch buffet and the dinner menu and its always great. If you want to try a variety of Indian cuisine, I suggest the lunch buffet but if youre going for the experience, definitely go at dinner. Its a completely different atmosphere with cultural music, mood lighting, and decorative folded napkins.

We got take out and received Tandoori chicken that was as hard as pebbles, a dubious looking Channa dish that tasted of soap, and a chicken curry soaked in grease. The store bought samosas with hair attached completed the worst Indian food my wife and I have ever tasted. If you like overpriced terrible Indian food Sitar is the place for you.

So good!!! Super fresh food and really knowledgeable waiters. I learned that they make everything (including their cheese and yogurt) from scratch! Great for groups because there is something for everyone, vegans and meat heads alike! Check out my mostly vegan (couldnt help but try the homemade cheese) plate

Staff is not at all trained. They brought naan with starters... like seriously... these guys dont even know how to serve Indian food. This is not how authentic Indian food is. These people serve either tasteless or too spicy food.. there is no authentic flavour.

I absolutely love this place. I have been coming here for 5 years, and its always amazing food. The service has its ups and downs, but Im always happy with the food. Todays visit was really great. The servers were amazingly professional and helpful.

Its hard to find a good Indian buffet place. My friends and I drove an hour and a half for this place and it was worth it. Its not too hot (its easy to add heat, but impossible to remove it) which worked for my tastes and the price is perfect.

There was variety but food was not at all spicy. Its made for american not Indian. So, if you are expecting some good spicy indian food this is not the place for you. But there were 5 varieties of Chicken varieties in lunch buffet menu.

Why would the best Indian food be in Tuscaloosa? Why not. Get the sampler plate and feast like a king. Get the fried onion appetizer. Ask for more brown sauce that they bring at the beginning. You deserve this.

A great place to splurge on exotic and rather healthy food. The buffet was limited for the price I paid. Ill return once I get my tax refund or if the VA ever decides to give me disability. Cmon Trump!

Some of the best Indian food Ive had anywhere, no doubt about it. One of the few places in town to get a spice burn going. Yeah! The lunch buffet is the way to go here, as dinner is a bit pricey.

This place is awesome!!! The lunch buffet is the best deal around. They have a whole section of vegetarian options and the selection varies everyday!! My mouth is watering just typing this!

Used to be 5 star but a few months ago they changed chefs and the recipes are completely different. Still excellent but not as spicy, but they do have a lot more variety of dishes.

Food was very tasty. Service was prompt. As a passerby, I greatly enjoyed my experience as opposed to the others who complained about the new chief.

What happened to this place. New cook? New management? The meal was the worst Indian Ive had and the prices have increased significantly. Not again.

All the tip collected by the waiter is taken by the owner at the end of the day., so never leave a tip behind thinking that it goes to the waiter.!

Good food and a great selection with a few items I had never seen before. The price was reasonable and the free WiFi was a nice touch as well.
