Stopped here early around 4pm on a Wednesday. We were the only table in the restaurant and no one at the bar. The menus that we were given looked very old. Food stained, greasy and the pages were frayed from heavy use. Our server was attentive and had good menu knowledge (Austin?) although he did not tell my companion what the selections were on the sushi plate when delivered. Drinks were good. Hot Sake, Bourbon Smash, and Mai-Tai. Courses were timed perfectly. Dirty dishes and empty drink glasses remained on the table. Appetizers were good. The house salad with ginger dressing was fresh and very flavorful. I had the Seven Flavored Chicken. The menu description was excellent but the dish was average. Heavy sauce and chopped peanuts overwhelmed the flavors of Thai Basil and garlic. The restaurant decor looked drab. At least 20-30 light bulbs out all over the restaurant. The bathroom was dirty. The facial tissue dispenser was empty and water spotted. The sink and mirrors were dirty as well as the door to the bathroom which had greasy handprints all over it. Im sure this place was nice when it first opened but it is in need of a face lift and a good cleaning. Overall it was an okay experience. Its hard to pull off a modern Pan-Asian theme in a strip mall.

Dont pay attention to any negative reviews. This restaurant has the absolute best Asian food. And, I should know, Ive tried them all in hopes of finding a place just like this. The menu is inventive and diverse, the ingredients are fresh, the seasonings are creative with just the right "pop," flavors are consistent from visit to visit and the service is friendly, attentive and efficient. The atmosphere has a contemporary flair. There is always an element of fun in the air. Take out is the best and items are always correct. They actually double check when you arrive. To sum it up, the owners and staff have taken everything usually wrong with Asian cuisine and fixed it. Do yourself a favor - Go!

The best Asian cuisine Ive had. They use high quality ingredients and very flavorful sauces/spices that are not too heavy or overwhelming. Ive only had carryout from here but the dining area looks very trendy and clean. My favorite dish is the basil chicken but the Mongolian beef is a close second. The sushi is good but a bit overpriced. The servings are a bit small and pricey but the quality offsets that negative. My biggest complaint is that they are not very generous with the portions of rice they give you for carryout. I highly recommend this place, just be ready to pay downtown Chicago prices for your meal.

Pl8 epitomizes Asian Fusion cuisine. They have a wonderful mix of Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese menu items all done with a modern twist. I love their sushi rolls, their beef pot stickers, and their wonderful soups. Their service is quick and precise while still maintaining warmth and personality. Their decor is modern and chic. I have been there a dozen times and always enjoyed myself.

Very happy this place moved into Barrington. This is a fine dining asian bistro with a lot of the old classics like mongolian beef and spicy green beans. They also have some sushi specials. Great atmosphere, looks like a downtown Chicago nice asian restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the selection good. Well lit, good location. Fantastic experience.

Great appetizers and sushi. When my family travelled to the burbs, we discovered this gem. While it is on the expensive side, what sushi isnt? Its a fusion of chinese and japanese so the cuisine is a bit different, but overall the quality of food was good. Service was also pretty well. Would definitely come back

Pot stickers were OK. Server recommended pepper beef and spicy dragon noodles. Both were really good. Fresh made ginger ale tasted lemon limey and sweet. Service was very good. Friday night at about 8pm, very busy, had to wait about 10 minutes for seats.

While I like the ambiance and decor at PL8, I found the food to be too expensive for what it is. I ordered a signature chicken dish and tea for lunch and ended up spending $20 with tip. There are far better places at lunch that cost substantially less.

Great spot for a group lunch or dinner in the area, and a pleasant outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. They have a few vegetarian options which I appreciate, but noodle dishes are a little lacking in flavor compared to "real" thai restaurants
