The service was very slow got an alcoholic beverage when it arrive about 15 min later it tasted super watered down like it had been sitting for awhile I asked for something else cause it was watered down. The waiter told me its no refunds or exchanges. She says would you like a extra shot I will have to charge you. I didnt want watered down alcohol I declined. We ordered our food it took about 45 min for our appetizer which was not very warm the taste was ok...about 15 min late we got our food. They proceeded to dump my crab legs and shrimp into the plates they provide..I stopped the guy and said I want to keep mine in the bag. The plate was very dirty with food residue. The crab and shrimp was also cold like it had been sitting awhile. Our waitress was very slow and forgetful and rude. The food taste was very salty I have had was better seafood in a bag from the boiling crab. I got my bill it was $100. I must say it was extremely high for the quality, taste and the service provided I will not be returning to shell shack. You can go to the boiling crab for half the price great service great tasting food for half the price. Also was disappointed in the portions I ordered a pound of crab there is no way my crab weighted a pound I mean these where baby crabs with small legs no meat only part I got meat was from the top part the legs are attached to.

If yall really knew me you would actually know how great I really am. I was told that Ryfial was actually the best and you guys chose to keep him because he called me out of my name..yall FIRE me..lmao..and I was told I was too fat to wear my Dallas Cowboys shirt like all the other girls!! I have heard your GM making racist jokes and co workers making sexist jokes!!! Your business is salvageable if you get rid of the people you have bringing the company down..Mind you the email sent to us to make us make yall our fb friends is illegal..and to tell us to boost ur social media ratings by giving all ss restaurants 5 stars is laughable..your company doesnt need to be franchised..it needs a exorcism!!! Whoever is looking into franchising this place needs to beware!! This company is ran by people who dont really give a crap about guest nor employees...just a few dollars...I was never given an employee handbook nor was I able to get in contact with William (Bill)... I asked for Dallass number and refused several times. Also, I dont know who Matt is?? They make employees pay for utensils at the end of each shift!! Nothing gets cleaned thoroughly and Here is tthe Kicker.... Someone usually eats off your plate before it is brought to you!!!

Tried the location in Mesquite and will never go there again. The service is slow, ordered and waited over 45 minutes to get served. I ordered the catfish basket and the fries were so greasy and there was 2 very small overcooked thin pieces of catfish not very big like a kids meal. We were charged twice for the 1 dozen oysters and took another 30 minutes to get the bill corrected. I also observed a waitress taking things from the bar and putting them in her mouth eating and licking her fingers and putting them back in to get a lemon to put in someones beer bottle. no silverware was given to us at all. We asked for some forks for the oysters and took a long time to get them and we never got any silverware to eat the broccoli I ordered. I can understand some of the food doesnt require the use of utensils and you eat it with your hands but come on not everyone likes to eat out with their hands with hot food like broccoli and rice. Even the waitress told us that sometimes people get 2 large pieces of catfish and some get little ones .

I was in the area in mid-June, visiting a friend who had recently relocated. We decided to try this place out for lunch. Since we were new to the area and this restaurant, we needed an idea of how things worked. Our waitress, Valeri was a pro in doing this! She was able to explain the difference between the types of crab, flavours and heat intensity with ease! She was extremely helpful and made our dining experience fantastic! I ended up ordering the Dungeness Crab with The Kitchen Sink (cajun, garlic and lemon pepper) seasoning and with a medium level of heat. That along with the broccoli and potatoes was fantastic! The meal can be a bit messy, so Shell Shack gives you gloves and a bib in addition to the tools to break the crab meat from its shell. They also have an automatic hand washer near the restroom! I will definitely try this place again when I’m in town.

I used to love the shell shack and was sooo happy they opened up in Mesquite BUT this location sadly keeps disappointing me. I attached a pic of Bairdi 1.25 lb of crab we got today. Only 1 normal size leg and a puny leg on one, the other had the same with an extra puny legs tho. Showed our waitress who was great. She was like oh yeah the Mgr needs to see this, he comes over and proceeds to tell us this is now a bigger crab and what we get. Also tells us he thinks this crab is going extinct and doesnt know why its being sold?! Wtf? Then Im told that the DM is the one that started this. Sad part is my daughter only eats the leg portion. Are all of the shell shacks going to this "portion" if so I guess we are done with yall. Would love to hear from yall. **update - the DM Bill called me immediately and is taking care of the issue.

I was so skeptical about coming to the mesquite location from reading the reviews and i prayed that it would be tasty, professional, and friendly. Jonathon G was my waitor and he consistently check on my table. The food was delicious! They didnt skimp on anything like i saw in other reviews. The only reason i didnt do 5 stars is bc all the waitress had on small booty shorts and they were over weight and i personally dont wanna see cellulite as i eat even my 16 yo daughter felt the same lol. I think they need new uniform to fit all shapes and sizes or have a standard like hooters...hey i love the ladys no shame in my game and they are beautiful in every shape but not seeing that while i eat. The music as good had me jamming in my seat. Me and my daughter would definitely come here again.

I should start by saying I was really hoping it was going to be a nice new place for us to enjoy coming to; We orederd a pound king crab legs and a pound of shrimp which was brought to us in a plastic bag with sauce and then dumped into a tray and served to us , it was like sifting through mud to get to your food! Not to mention the king crab was way over cooked and they still tried to charge me even though I was told by the manager it wouldnt be and yet when I received the bill it was still there and had to hunt the manager down to have her correct it! now lets talk about the way over priced shots $10.00 per shot !! In short I am disappointed to say we never be back as we were looking for new places to enjoy.
