We love the food here and it is one of our favorite places to eat, However today we were quite displeased with our waitress! Helene came to our table and said she would be our waitress and would be back to take our drink order, after a bit she returned we ordered our drinks and food at the sometime, off she went returned with our sodas and that was the last time she came to our table! a young man brought our food to us told us to enjoy our meal and left, our waitress went to the table in front of us who had an elderly gentleman and his daughter, they needed to go items sadly our waitress forgot the container for his food and said to the woman how sorry she was that she is forgetful, she continued to talk with the woman not once looking or even checking on if we needed anything, soda refills, paper napkins whatever, elderly man spilled his water and here came Helene and dropped 2 paper napkins on our table, YAY I needed the napkins for my hands, needless to say the napkins were meant for the other table, more people came in and bam she was at their table getting orders, we did stop her as she came by and asked her for to go items, after she dropped them along with our bill she went to the table behind us to see how they were doing how their food was did they need anything? the people at that table were there before us cuz their food was brought to them not long after we were seated! I could understand if the place was busy like on Friday and Saturday nights but it wasnt , I waitressed for many years and know tips are the main thing waitresses depend on but in my heart of hearts we could not leave this woman a decent time seeing we felt she didnt earn it , even the 2 dollars tip was more the she should have gotten. The next time we come in we will make sure she isnt our waitress... Thank you for the great food Debbie Maxwell

I have driven by this place 100s of times, finally went in Friday 5/23. I had read reviews of the Bionic Burger and the French Onion soup. Let me say this, the reviews dont quite do it justice. The Assembly looks like your typical sports bar/pub. Maybe a little older looking, but that is fine. It gives it character. The smell of wood smoke inside is welcoming, not strong (and I will walk out of places that are too smoky). Here it is like an appetizer, you know if you food is cooked on that it will be good. I read a review for their French Onion soup and it is indeed really, really good. Is it the best? I dont know. But it is certainly in my top 3, and the best I have had for twice the price. The Bionic Burger is mess. A wonderful tasty mess. I the onions, cheese and bacon melt to form this perfect crown on 10oz of beef. The burger beef was good all on its own. The mushroom-cherry sauce (on the side) was fun and added a nice little hint of "other" to the burger. I got the sesame seed bun, I think next time I will opt for the pretzel bun. We also had at our table a regular burger and a bacon cheese burger. All very, very excellent. I went with the waffle fires, but others got the tater tots. The tots were better. Our waitress, Patti, was very good. Quick, attentive, let us know about all the specials and options. Quick on the drink refills and getting our table cleared. Perfect professional. All in all a great choice and I think they are secure in their claim as having the best burgers in the Northwest suburbs.

Years ago when I lived in the area it was great. Boy how things change. Was there for dinner with my wife Saturday 8/16/14 before a movie. Our waitress, Patti, was so so. When my order came, a simple burger, it was wrong. We were in a time crunch so when I sent it back, I asked how long. Patti checked and told me 5 minutes.. The new one came in 5 minutes. I cut it open and my Medium burger, was still mooing. Beet red, bloody and only warm to the touch. Called Patti back over. her response, "I only serve the food here, not my problem". I told her I was done, we didnt have time to wait for a third attempt. After 10 minutes someone who said she was the manager came over to tell me a new one was being cooked. I repeated what I told Patti, I was done and needed to leave. Took Patti a while to bring our bill. My burger was taken off the bill and noted as "Customer Complimentary". Complementary for what??? For all the lack of customer care and service, I expected a little show of respect and something taken off my bill. DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME AND PATIENCE. NOT THE GREAT PLACE I USED TO KNOW. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

The owner must have really pissed someone off to make him this paranoid because apparently you cant call in and order carry out without your credit card. Did someone order a bunch of food in retaliation and never came for it? Anyway, I was going to have my boyfriend pick it up and pay on his way home from work. Now, I know you need your credit card for most places, obviously, but I didnt have my card on me so I asked to speak to manager to explain. 10 min wait. Having been a manager before, I could have easily asked for name, address, and phone number instead. But the woman was condescending from the begging stating there was nothing she could do and blamed it on the owner. "yea, sorry, its the owners decision". I would understand if it was a big order, id never make the exception. But three burgers? You were afraid I was gonna skip out on 3 burgers? OK.. Ill give my money to someone else.

Stopped in to Assembly on a whim, as I (along with my brother and cousin) am travelling from Minnesota to northern Indiana. Ive never heard of this place, and obviously never been here. That all will change after today. We all got burgers (two bionics and one char), and they were DELICIOUS. And they have TOTS!!! Burgers were huge, juicy, and very tasty. We sat at the bar, and the very helpful (and quite sexy [Rebecca, particularly!]) staff was helpful, kind and personable. The food came quickly, and the prices are what Id expect to pay for a great burger meal. Ill be stopping back through whenever Im back on the north side of the big city!

Love this place. Its not a chain and its family owned and run. Best burgers ever! Parmesan burger is my favorite. The burgers are homemade and huge. You get a lot of food for your bucks. If you want great pub food, The Assembly is the place to go. Were never disappointed. The interior could use some updating, but hey theyve been around since 1978, not many places these days can say that or survive that long. Weve been coming here for as long as I can remember, and well definately keep coming back. They need to bring back the microbrewed beers!! My favorite was the Rusty Dog Amber.
