We went to have dinner at Asian Bistro last Saturday (1/17/09). We ordered Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The menu said $14.95. However, they charged $18.95. We complained but the owner claimed that they gave us peeled shrimp. Therefore she charged extra $4 for peeling the shrimps. We then checked the menu and the MENU DID NOT indicate any extra charge for peeled shrimps!!. She wanted $4 EXTRA FOR PEELING THE SHRIMPS !!! The thing I hate is that they never told us before hand that they were going to charge extra. In most restaurants Ive been in my life, including those rude and impolite Chinese restaurants in Chicago China Town, whenever they were going to charge extra due to certain circumstances, they always told us before hand and made sure that we agree with the extra charge. Furthermore, the owner (the old lady) tried to cheat "TWICE". This was still in the same visit (1/17/09). This time was with the change. Our total order was $41 before tips. We paid with $100 bill and the owner gave us the changes of $46. What kind of mistake could she possibly make ?? Anyway, she gave us the correct change after we complained. This is the first time that we got screwed "TWICE" by the same restaurant in the same visit. Anyway, Asian Bistro is not the only Szechwan restaurant around Arlington Heights area. There is House of Szechwan at Mount Prospect. We tried House of Szechwan the week before and it was a lot better than Asian Bistro. House of Szechwan service is good, waiters can speak English well, and the owner was polite. Unlike Asian Bistro, most of their waiters cannot speak English, and the owner would try to rip you off as much as possible.

Quite good food. DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING!!!! The online lunch menu advertises that entrees come with soup, fried rice and a cookie. I ordered my entree for carry out, expecting to pick it up as ordered. There was no soup and the rice was steamed rather than fried as advertised, yet the price was the same for carryout as for.dining in. This is essentially bait & switch. There is no indication in the online menu that soup is not included in carryout orders or the the rice is steamed. What is advertises and what is delivered is not the same thing. Buyer beware!!

Asian Bistro is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in the surrounding suburbs of Schaumburg and Arlington Heights. Ive tried a lot of other places and this is by far the best choice. The only thing is that I dont like deep fried and they have a lot of fried meat dishes. But overall, they have a wide selection with dishes that you have actually heard of in China instead of the General Tsaos chicken and cream cheese ragoon stuff you see in other places.

My family have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years, but will not anymore. Husband ordered a couple of beers tonight. Both the waitress and the owner sent 2 opened bottles. Since it was their mistake, the owner said the extra 2 bottles would be on the house. However, when the check came, they charged us 4 bottles. I pointed this out but they refused to correct it. Well that would be the last time they made money from us.

Bare wall, just one sad picture frame with desperate chinese like motif, NO PEOPLE other then employee-2 women. We sit, she comes, gives us warm water, so rude, uninviting. We had eggrolls, curry beef and Pho. It was the absolute worst food I ever had! The reviewers that think they liked it even themselves contradict, one didnt like that its so fried-old foul trans fat! and the other doesnt like the service. Laughable. AVOID

I live in Appleton Wisconsin and every time I have a reason to go to the Chicago area I have to stop at this restaurant. The food is nothing like we have up here in Wisconsin. Every time I stop in I try something new. Last time I had flounder szechwan style and the flounder melted in my mouth. I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. I cant wait to go again! Take it from a fat guy, it is good.

Tried the Seafood in a Nest, and it was outstanding. Wonderful and unique assortment of ingredients and tastes. Only wish it was available on the Lunch menu. But, it is good enough to make this restaurant a dinner destination by itself. Of course, there are maybe too many other interesting choices on the menu as well. Outstanding first experience, though!!

Delicious and spicy Sichuan food make me relaxed, enjoyed and eager to explore something new in the menu. Afford price, quality food and comfortable dinning environment put this restaurant top in the west Chicago suburb. Japanese often show up, which impresses me as Japanese usually are picky on food from taste to style and to quality.

Great find with delicious asian food options and large portions! Jack the owner/manager is great and I enjoyed lunch at Asian Bistro both times I visited. Their sweet and sour soup is delicious along with their Kong Pao Tofu dish. Definitely recommend to check out for lunch or dinner and get your moneys worth!

After living in China for a while, I searched high and low for authentic Chinese food near me. This place was a god send! Ive loved everything Ive had so far. The taste is just like what I had Chengdu. Staff is really nice and doesnt mind when I ask for dishes that arent necessarily on the menu. ;)

I have been visiting this place fir past 6 years. They are very consistent in food taste, quality and quantity. Singapore rice noodles and yang cho fried rice are my favorite. The staffs are very friendly and gives a feel like home atmosphere.

Every month, My husband and I will go there to enjoy our favorite dishes, such as Whole Fish w/ Chili Bean Sauce, Steamed Fresh Bacon w/ Garlic Soy Vinaigrette, etc. The food is very authentic and tasteful.

It was great! The waiters were really nice. The bon bon chicken was so good that I went there again just for it. The decor did not really matter because the food not only tasted good but it looked good

Asian food is always best in Asia. The food here was okay but I have had better places around and it took quite long to pay. One of the dishes we ordered was not really as expected.

I think this is the best Chinese food in the north suburbs. They are definitely more authentic than many of the other restaurants in this area, and they make it spicy!
