How hard could it be to toast a bagel and put some cream cheese on it? The Spring Street Deli managed to make this classic combo taste so UNFORGETTABLY CRINGEWORTHY that I felt sorry for the food. 1. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. As some other reviewers and my friends have noticed, the barista(s) at the Spring Street Deli are usually not very polite. I wouldnt disagree. We all have that disoriented feeling when we go to a shop for the first time, and a welcoming staff can make us feel comfortable right away. However, it was the opposite. The barista was IMPATIENT and UNHELPFUL, stingy with words when I was unfamiliar with the menu and process and tried to ask questions. 2. UNREASONABLE WAIT for TERRIBLE FOOD. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese which TOOK 15 MINUTES and came out to be THE MOST PATHETIC HOPELESS REPULSIVE BAGEL I had ever encountered. It was MICROWAVED instead of toasted: SOGGY, STALE, and TASTELESS. There was a tiny pile of SADLY MOLTEN cream cheese thrown and smashed in there, apparently over-heated. (If I were the bagel and cream cheese I would have been so ashamed and offended that I would have just jumped into the garbage can.) Conclusion: Unfortunately, the experience was just really awful. The barista was UNPROFESSIONAL and UNFRIENDLY. The wait was LONG. The food was MESSED UP. I dont know if this was just an accident, but knowing that there are so many other places with consistently nice staff and delicious food in town, I will not bother coming here again. Food was good. Had the chicken parm sub, 8" pizza, and some chicken tacos. No complaints there. Had a rude encounter with whoever answered the phone when I placed the order though. I understand Im calling half an hour before close on a Sunday for a possible delivery a block away, but the guy says "itll be over an hour for delivery and we close in 30 minutes so..." I ask whether that means theyre still delivering or not and he replies with "hey, I said what I said". Not really appreciated on my end. If youre not delivering anymore just tell me and Ill go from there. Dont give me some snarky comment. Really kind of surprised me. I offered to pick it up and everything was fine then, just left a bad taste in my mouth (not literally, the opposite in fact) as a first time customer. The girls who rang me up and brought out the food were great however, even after a clearly busy day.

Aside from having terrible food, the cafe is a horrid and disorganized mess. Delivery people park illegally and obstruct customers from getting anywhere near the place. Lazy pick-up customers crowd the tiny cafe and make it very difficult to find a table if your party is larger than 2. "Toasted" bread is hard and flavorless, sandwiches are poorly assembled, vegetables are not fresh or ripe and simply taste bad. I did not even finish my "cajun chicken" sandwich; I have no idea how they managed to season chicken to make it taste like charcoal. My buddy ordered an aptly-named sandwich that summarized our experience: "upset."

As a local business we order lunch a lot. When I do not bring mine I order with the rest of the group. I have now had 4 separate occasions from spring st where there is a bug in my food. 3 of the times have been salad (not sure if they dont wash lettuce but its consistant), and once in my soup. I have refused to order there several times with my other coworkers, but then I think it cant really happen again... Low and behold it does. Its really unfortunate because if they could keep a clean kitchen, they would make good food :/

Decent local pizza and sandwich place. I love their eggplant parmesan on a sandwich or on pizzas. I like their subs, sandwiches and antipasto salads. I just downgraded my review. They have changed the pizza crust. The new crust tastes like the mass market chains. I thought it used to be chewy and yeasty. Not sure I will get pizza there again. I am willing to pay a few more dollars for something that tastes good.

The food is always great, but the counter girls are by far the bitchiest and rudest people. The customer service there is always awful. They give you attitude when you only order a few items for delivery, and have to "ask their managers" if they can deliver your food 4 miles down the road. Great food but talking to those girls really sucks!!

Good food but delivery is terribly variable. First time I ordered it took 20 minutes. A week later it was over an hour and a half AND the delivery man wouldnt wait for five minutes before leaving. By the time I got outside (5 minutes after he arrived) he was "halfway back to the deli" (I called him, he told me). Very annoying service.

Excellent breakfast sandwiches (and other sandwiches are excellent but bfast are my fave) the rolls are what take these sandwiches over the top. Great service and lots of seating inside and outside. Perfect to bring a bunch of sandwiches to the track.

Best deli in town. Hot sandwiches are always delicious. (Totally worth it to go for the 12"). Soft chicken / steak tacos are a staple. Highly recommend.
