After reading some of the reviews posted, and after eating at the restaurant almost once a week since it opened, I feel compelled to share my thoughts. I preface this review by stating that according to others I am an overly critical person. Hopefully you will accept that if after eating there this long, and not posting a review, that it is not customary for me to post reviews. In this case, shame on me, because this restaurant deserves the support and after reading some of the inane and ridiculous things people posted, I feel compelled to respond. I am a consummate buffet diner because of the selection and price. I find that even in the worst buffets there is always something that satisfies my hunger. More importantly I have to put into perspective what I am paying and what I get. The Asia Buffet price for lunch is $7.50, and with the coupon that the owner generously prints in several publications, it is $5.99. For either price I have an enormous selection of food, to include entrees, salads, sushi, hibachi and desserts. At lunch there is always baked salmon. By the way, the last time I bought salmon at the grocery store it was $7.99 a pound. Over the years I have found that there are certain things that I enjoy, and things that I dont enjoy, not because they are particularly bad, but because I just dont enjoy that dish. The reason I continue to return to this restaurant is a) you are always greeted in a friendly manner, b) the food quality is consistently good, c) the restaurant is clean and nicely lit, and d) the price. So when I read the horrible reviews I have to consider the source. My first reaction is whether these are competitors writing these reviews trying to steal away business. My second reaction is what in the world do people expect for $7.50 or $5.99, or for that matter the dinner price. Apparently they expect that the owner should offer them an endless amount of gourmet quality food that they can build in mountains on their plates, eat part of it, and throw the rest away. From what I have seen over the years the amount of food people waste at buffets far exceeds what they would waste in a sit down, serve restaurant. I dare say, even if they didnt like the regular restaurant meal, they would still eat it after paying $15- 30 for a single plate of food. Isnt it a luxury that at a buffet if you dont like something, you can always get something else? To conclude I gave the Asia Buffet an excellent rating because they have earned it. And those of you who cant find something you like for $7.50 or $5.99 should perhaps go to a Subway and buy a sandwich and chips for the same price. Should you try the restaurant which I highly recommend, and should you have any issue, then speak to the management. I can safely say they will help solve any issues. I have tried every oriental buffet in town, and could write volumes as to why I dont like them. Instead I feel very blessed that we have someone in Cape Coral who truly cares about us, and is trying his very hardest to offer us a huge selection of quality food for a very reasonable price. As a post note I realize that many people who live in this country truly believe that everyone should speak fluent English. Fortunately for us, this is not the case. We enjoy a myriad of different peoples and cultures who are here trying to make a better life for themselves because this IS a great country. I see people trying to speak to the waiters or waitresses in Oriental restaurants expecting that they are going to share their abilities in English. Generally this isnt the case, so if one of these hard working people doesnt linger by your table for conversation, please accept that they are doing the best that they can, and are perhaps shy or embarrassed that they cant communicate as they would want to. Be a kind and generous citizen and give them the benefit of the doubt. Dont take your frustration out on them, but instead ask for the owner or manager, who will surely quell your anxiety.

I dont understand why this place is named "restaurant" as the food is the worst asian dinner I have ever known in all the USA. Im a french tourist for +20 years in the USA and I usualy love asian food (even if in Asia and in France its better). But here, I find the food was untasty, suchis were dry, employees were no friendly and no smiling (I ran after a maid to have chinese sticks because she simulated she didnt listen to my request). The only good thing was the chinese beer, rice and noodles. I write the translation for my compatriots who would spend their vacations at Cape Coral. I think the best critics under were wrote by the employees of this thing dishonestly called "buffet".

Food was great! Service, not so much. I didnt even know our waitress until she brought us the check. I cashed out at an even number for my debit sale ($12) and she didnt even care there was over $3 in change sitting on the table,(and didnt care even when I was pointing it out to her) she was too busy getting a snarky attitude about the 36 cents on the tip line. My friends and family complain about how generous I am at tipping, that comes from wearing their shoes when I was a waitress as a 19 year old. I know its not an easy job. But I also know, the tip depends on the service and not what the gratuity percent says at the bottom of the receipt! #1 learn customer service , #2 Im NOT giving money out for free! Earn it! I tipped the hibachi gentleman and he was greatly appreciative, stopping what he was doing, giving me a smile and saying thank you. And in my opinion, he put in a great amount more effort to satisfy a customer than a waitress bringing a check, expecting a great payout. I told the manager his response was "Im sorry and thats not right" she came up while I was speaking with him, making more comments! So before I blew a lid, I went, grabbed the $3+ and walked it over to the missing childrens collection cup at the front. I know I should have been a bigger person and just walked away, but I dont think she deserved jack after her ungrateful attitude. So if you get "Nancy #4" (because apparently theyre all named Nancy) be leary if you do not leave a 20%+ gratuity she will make rude comments as shes collecting the bill.
