We came in here due to the good reviews, after seeing matsuri was closed for lunch on Saturday. It was honestly one of the worst sushi experiences of my life. A poor imitation of a local family owned sushi restaurant with a totally Americanized menu. It wasnt looking good, but google reviews had not let me down before. We ordered mamacita salad, with shrimp and ginger. It was edible but not pleasant. The chef had used a lot of mayonnaise. If only I had known what was coming I would have left immediately. Alaskan king crab roll was more mayonnaise than anything else. It literally dripped off in huge globs as I picked it up with the chopsticks. Horrific. I wouldnt have served it to my dog. Florida roll - wilted greens and dripping with sauce. No taste apart from the sweet chili sauce they had dumped over the top. Chicken udon - mushy vegetables and noodles. What a depressing sight. It was as It has been boiling for 3 days. No flavor in the soup at all. No Japanese chili powder was provided. You would think that they would do anything they could to perk up the flavor. It tasted like they had made the batch the whole week on the Monday, vegetables and noodles and all, and served it to us on the Saturday. Chicken teriyaki and local sashimi was passable. Just average. The food has No elegance. No creativity, just buckets of sauce and mayonnaise. Restaurants normally do this to hide the quality of the ingredients. Avoid.

My client and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat for (WELL WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE QUICK). I sat at the bar and it took close to 15 minutes and 3 different waiter to finally take my order. I ordered 2 spicy tuna hand rolls with brown rice and avacodo and 2 spicy tuna apps. The spicy tuna hand rolls were the smallest hand rolls Ive literally ever seen in my life. The bill came and the amount was $73.00 and i was still starving. I wondered why it was so high considering the spicy tuna HR were $7 on the menu. I found out after its because this restaurant changes a million dollars for adding brown rice and avacado, which explains why my miniture had rolls were $20 dollars each. This also explains the weird smile my waitress had when she took my order. At no point was I informed of these additional charges. If you go to this place please pack your own lunch because youll most likely leave hungry, broke, and dissatisfied. Out of all other sushi options in the Coral Gables area I will certainly be going somewhere else next time.

Staff was not friendly. No hello or welcome. Place was empty on a Saturday around noon. Ordered Kani-su and was brought what appeared to be a cucumber roll. It had imitiation krab meat. I gave it a try and it was unacceptable. A salad came out with dressing that looked like vomit. The server was sweet and took the Kani-su back. Meanwhile I could see and hear one of the chefs saying I should have asked about the imitation meat. Very unprofessional. What a shame.

Very good real authentic japanese food. Their miso soup is perfect: not salty, good ingredients. We order mixed sushi for two, very well served and very fresh. The service is familiar, friendly. A good experience certainly. PT: Comida japonesa autentica. Bom misoshiru, combinado de sushi bem servido e fresco. Sashimi bom. Atendimento familiar e otima atmosfera.

Some of the best sushi in Miami. My cousin and her husband have visited this spot weekly for almost 18 years and the reason is clear; they have fresh fish and a great chef. Prices are pretty normal for high-end sushi, so dont expect a deal, but well worth your time to try it out. Best spicy hotate I have had in a long time!

Great restaurant! Except for my sister ordered sushi rolls with avocado and cucumber and they accidentally put cream cheese and she hates cream cheese and it was a ten dollar roll. But my dad loves this restaurant and i still have high hopes for this restaurant.

Hubby and I moved from the Gables to Miami Shores. Weve tried other sushi restaurants closer to us, and we prefer to drive 30 mins to Sakura. Small place with sushi masters behind the bar. A must if you love sushi! LOVE their rainbow moose roll!!

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing. The staffs are respectful and nice but the sushi was just ok and not that much tasty as we expected. It worths just one time trying. Price is a little high compared to the quality of food.

The sushi lunch special is almost enough for two people. Solid quality miso soup, ginger salad, dynamite shell and a generous spicy tuna roll - all for $10 is an amazing deal!
