Yatai Ramen has much more than ramen, udon and soba. Their extensive menu includes many familiar favourites, like gyoza and edamame, plus a lot of delicious Japanese dishes you should try. I had "aji fry", two pieces of mackerel, lightly deep fried. The crispy crust was golden brown and the boneless fish was perfectly done, with no oily taste. About the only thing that seemed missing was a small mound of daikon oroshi, finely grated white daikon radish. Various kinds of tempura and other fries are available and should please even picky eaters. The takoyaki, octopus "fritters", were as good as any Ive had in Osaka. The were served with takoyaki sauce, a drizzle of mayo and sprinkled with katsuobushi, grated bonito. They were light and airy, with a creamy interior and chewy bits of octopus. Onigiri, rice balls, made a delicious snack. I recommend the mentaiko, spicy cod roe. The sake selection is extensive and has a lot of good choices, many of which are higher end. I really had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat here. The ramen and rice bowls all vied for my attention, as did the curry rice. It was too early for dinner, so the fish entrees like miso salmon and grilled saba, and others like nabe oden (a hot pot with fish cakes and vegetables), okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) and kushiyaki skewers will be dishes Ill be back to try.

The Tsukemen was the worst Ive ever had. The broth lacked flavor. Im used to it being thicker and richer, hence the treatment of it as a dipping broth. The marinated soft boiled egg was missing sweetness and the taste of sake. The chashu pork tasted a bit dry. It wasnt slightly charred or seared. Not a hint of glisten fat on it so I question the cut of pork. All the ingredients aside from the broth was served cold, including the plate. I imagine it came straight from the fridge. Wabi House in Lower Greenville is infinitely better for this dish. The Takoyaki was good. Although it takes much more effort to screw up deep fried foods. Aside from the food itself, the service was good and attentive except I asked for the app first to enjoy before the ramen and they both virtually were served seconds between each other. For a place that presents itself as an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. I expect more, much more.

This bar area is so cute in here. It is a small cozy restaurant. Service is pretty quick, almost like theyre rushing you. The food was good and legit, but their egg in the ramen is not good and not cooked right. We got the cheese corn which was yum. Chasu bun which was okay. The tan tan men is good. Probably my favorite thing we got was the ochazuke which is tea broth poured into rice with seasoning. I liked that there was a variety of things on their menu. They had ramen, rice dishes, udon, other noodle dishes, appetizers, skewers, and mini rice bowls or mini ramen and things like that if youre not that hungry. They also had like traditional Japanese dishes like grilled fish and tonkatsu. Lots of variety to eat. Also, their drinks come from a can which I didnt like. We got the oolong tea, you can go to Asian grocery store and buy that for cheaper.

These guys are new and fairly underrated. Great food. Price is about 14$ to 20$ for a single person with meal and appetizer. The service is great, the food is super savory. The Tonkotsu Ramen is amazing, and the Chasu Bun is similar to a thick slice of bacon in a super soft, semi-sweet bun with meat and fat that melts in your mouth (and has almost a creamy texture). The one downside to the place is the ambience. Could be a bit more sophisticated or modern, but theres a certain charm to it. Not the kind of place to take someone on a date, but a great place to bring a co-worker for a meal after a day at the office. (Im actually going back there as soon as I finish this review. Good stuff.)

In my opinion, I much prefer this Ramen restaurant over other restaurants nearby such as Hanabi Ramen and Ramen Hakata. I always get the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The soup is consistently thick, creamy and flavorful. The noodles are cooked at a consistent medium, not over or under cooked. My favourite part is the fatty pork and half cooked egg. Their side dishes are pretty good as well. Their gyoza, ika geso karaage and tori karaage. They have plenty of other types of dishes that I have yet to try. Id definitely recommend this place to other Ramen lovers.

Service is prompt and everything we ordered was top notch! I had the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen and it was delicious. Not too salty, broth is rich, and its just the right amount of heat. The noodles has a good bite to it too. Another good item they have is their grilled salted hokke fish. My brother ordered it for himself but the family loved it so much he just had to share it with us! The decor is lovely too. It makes you feel like youre transported to a hole in the wall somewhere in the streets of Tokyo. Overall a great place to dine in.

Walking through the door it is as if your are transported in the heart of Tokyo. The atmosphere immerses you into the cuisine you are about to taste. From the appetizers to the last drop of the ramen broth you will not require a single penny you spend here. Staff is fast, and extremely friendly. Only drawback is that if you arent a huge fan of loud anime music this may not be best. A change to a softer classical Japanese music would further enhance the atmosphere and the food experience.

Its good but not the best. Monta remains the undisputed king of ramen in my opinion. Perhaps it is because Monta focuses on Ramen. The menu at Yatai is too full to pull off correctly. Montas single-minded focus on Ramen shows. They have more varieties of ramen and fewer distractions. Yatai needs to get a kuro ramen before I would visit often.

Ive only had three things from here but they tasted great! I will return for more. I recommend the squid balls (I cant remember the Japanese name at the moment) or the Chasu Bun as an appetizer, and the base Yatai Shoryu Ramen is very flavorful! Service and wait time were good as well. Price is reasonable. Get your ramen fix at Yatai Ramen!

Amazing authentic ramen-ya. Great tonkotsu broth, and the best takoyaki and gyōza Ive had outside of Japan. Only thing I dislike is the constant anime music playing and the weaboo crowd it attracts. Would like to just be able to enjoy a decent bit of foreign food without being surrounded by people who obsess over another aspect of it.

Newly open ramen place. Nice decor and atmosphere. Staff is friendly but some of our orders took forever. Got the tonkotsu ramen w extra chasu and bean sprouts. Broth was okay. Not as creamy as Id expected. Chasu was no good. Too much fat. Little meat. Hoping they improve on that.

Ordered Kimchi Ramen. It is just OK. There is one ingredient that smelled and tasted a little off. It looked like bamboo sprout or heart of palm. I expected the broth to be spicy because of the kimchi but it was not. The pork was really good. The grilled squid was outstanding.
